Chapter 510: Chapter 510: The Night Road under Candlelight_1
Having said goodbye to Wu nglei’s parents, Qin Sisi, Ding Jiawang, and Ding Jiayuan left the hospital.
Ding Jiawang’s car was parked in the hospital’s underground parking lot. While he was going to get the car, Qin Sisi, holding Ye You, waited outside with Ding Jiayuan.
Ding Jiayuan kept asking Qin Sisi: "Brother nglei will be okay, won’t he?"
"We have to cure him!"
"Mage Sister, you will help , won’t you?"
"Mage Sister, please, I’ll give you all the money I have."
...
At this mont, Qin Sisi only wanted to carefully consider what strange things might be in that dilapidated shack. The incessant chatter from Ding Jiayuan was bothering her, but she didn’t want to scold or discourage the innocent girl. Hence, she kept her silence, occasionally responding vaguely when she really couldn’t avoid it.
Before long, Ding Jiawang pulled up in his car. Once Qin Sisi and Ding Jiayuan were in the vehicle, he drove towards their destination.
However, since he had only been there once, Ding Jiawang’s mory of the place was not very clear. He could only first arrive at the gate of the school he and Wu nglei attended, then slowly find the secluded path using the route they originally followed.
Despite the streetlights, it didn’t match the brightness of dayti.
Ding Jiawang drove very slowly, taking a long ti to locate the small path. However, the path was very narrow and the car couldn’t pass through, so they had to get out and walk.
Ding Jiawang led the way, with Qin Sisi and Ding Jiayuan following behind him.
As Ding Jiawang described, aside from a few households at the entrance, there was a large expanse of farmland further inside without any light. The visibility beca poorer as they walked, and they soon could barely see the way ahead.
Qin Sisi was secretly anxious; obstructed vision was a big problem. If there really were ghosts, they wouldn’t be able to see them!
Furthermore, they couldn’t let Ye You freely ignite the Ziwei Heaven Fire in front of others. What could they do?
Just as she was feeling helpless, she suddenly felt sothing added to her hand. She brought it up for a closer look, and it turned out to be a used white candle.
Qin Sisi gratefully glanced at Ye You, whose purple eyes sparkled even in the dark.
She recognized the candle as the one she had used to summon the true form of Ye You in the mirror during the full moon. Fearing it would be inconvenient to use at ho as they couldn’t guarantee being there every full moon, they put it in their Portable Space to carry along.
Now that outsiders were present and they couldn’t use the Ziwei Heaven Fire, this candle was invaluable.
Just as Qin Sisi was about to ignite the candle with her Fire Ignition Skill, she suddenly rembered that she couldn’t use her magic in front of outsiders. After a mont’s thought, she asked Ding Jiawang, "Do you have a lighter?"
"Yes." Ding Jiawang, also worried about the darkness, hurriedly took out a lighter from his pocket.
Qin Sisi took the lighter, lit the candle in her hand, and the surroundings were sowhat illuminated. All three of them breathed a sigh of relief.
Deep darkness can always cause inexplicable confusion and fear, while light brings warmth and hope.
As if rembering sothing, Ding Jiayuan shouted triumphantly, "Brother, you actually smoke! Mom said you’re not allowed to, hmm, wait till I get ho and tell mom."
Ding Jiawang, a little embarrassed, said, "Alright, what is the issue at this mont? Do you want to save your Brother nglei or not?"
At the ntion of Wu nglei, Ding Jiayuan instantly forgot about her brother disobeying their mother’s words. She humd and turned to hold Qin Sisi’s arm, saying, "Mage Sister, let’s go!"
Qin Sisi nodded, "Alright, let’s go."
Now that the major issue of lighting was solved, traveling beca much easier. She wasn’t so much afraid anymore, as she had grown used to such experiences.
Although Ding Jiayuan was talkative, she was nevertheless a young, naive girl. At this mont, she was firmly gripping Qin Sisi’s arm, walking stiffly behind her.
Even though Ding Jiawang was braver, it was quite chilling to be on such a secluded path in the middle of the night. Moreover, having encountered a ghost before, he was also a little scared.
But with two won following him, he had no choice but to muster his courage and lead the way.
The group walked another hundred ters or so, and under the flickering candlelight, the decrepit little house finally ca into view.
Ding Jiawang stopped at the door of the house and pointed to the roadside, saying, "This is where we found Wu nglei."
Qin Sisi took two steps forward, standing at the spot where Wu nglei had been unconscious, carefully observing the surroundings.
The spot was only seven or eight ters away from the small house - although it was called a small house, it was actually an extrely dilapidated wooden shack with at least several decades of history.
What was strange was that the doors and windows of this cabin had been covered with a layer of plastic film, further boarded up with wooden planks. It looked absolutely uninhabited; yet, strangely enough, it had not been demolished.
"M...Mage Sister, is there... is there a ghost in this house?" asked Ding Jiawang, standing close behind Qin Sisi, his body involuntarily shivering.
Qin Sisi turned around and said to the siblings, "I’m going in to take a look. You two wait here."
Ding Jiawang imdiately objected, "No, I’ll go with you. What if sothing happens?"
Although he was also a little scared, he couldn’t bear the thought of letting Qin Sisi, a girl, enter the seemingly eerie house alone. Out of male pride, he refused to appear cowardly.
Qin Sisi frowned at this; bringing Ding Jiawang along would make it inconvenient for her and Ye You to use magic.
anwhile, Ding Jiayuan was clutching Qin Sisi’s arm, pleading, "Mage Sister, I don’t want to stay outside alone. I want to be with you."
Contrary to the legendary ghosts, Ding Jiayuan felt safer with Qin Sisi than with her own brother.
In the end, Qin Sisi sighed and said, "Alright, let’s go in together!"
Leaving them outside would indeed be sowhat unsafe. They should stay together and act according to the situation.
This ti, Qin Sisi was in the lead. She reached out and gently pushed the door that was nailed shut with wooden planks.
Oddly enough, even though the door seed sealed, it opened up a crack at her touch.
Qin Sisi placed Ye You on her shoulder, held the candle in one hand, pushed open the dusty wooden door with the other and stepped in.
Ding Jiayuan and Ding Jiawang held hands as they followed behind Qin Sisi, the three of them entering the ancient, dilapidated shack together.
