Chapter 51: Chapter 51 Disappeared Ghost_1
When Qin Sisi ca to her senses, the coldness in Ye You’s eyes had already faded, leaving only unfathomable depth and mystery. All emotions were hidden within, not revealed in the slightest.
Qin Sisi cleared her thoughts, speaking softly but firmly, "Xiao Hei, I’ve never thought about accomplishing big things. I just want to use my current power to do small things within my capacity."
Ye You stared at her for a mont, sighed deeply, and said ambiguously, "Sisi, since fate has brought you to , there are a lot of things that we won’t have control over from now on."
A variety of complex emotions tangled in Ye You’s heart. He had no intention of blaming her. He could see her kindness and efforts.
He just didn’t know how to help her understand the impermanence of the world’s cycle, nor could he tell her about the unpredictable turmoil in the Demon Sacred Realm, the enigma of fate, which even he, from his lofty position, could not fully comprehend. He simply didn’t want her to be influenced by her imdiate emotions, like his reckless and naive past self.
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You as if she understood yet didn’t. What was fate’s destined encounter? What was taking actions beyond one’s control? At this stage, Qin Sisi genuinely couldn’t comprehend deeply.
Their eyes t – Ye You’s purplish eyes were mysterious and deep as the ocean, seemingly carrying a powerful force of attraction, Qin Sisi felt as if her soul was about to be sucked into them, willingly sinking into its depth.
"Xiao Hei..." Qin Sisi murmured and then closed her eyes weakly, falling into a deep sleep.
Ye You lifted his paw slightly, a thin silver glow supporting Qin Sisi’s body, then gently laid her on the bed.
Ye You jumped onto the head of the bed, pressed a soft kiss onto her forehead, and said in a low voice, "Your power will beco stronger, and the things you can do will beco greater. This path will be difficult, but we have no other choice."
The night was deep, void of moon and stars, the vast darkness shrouding the earth as if light could find no exit.
When Qin Sisi woke up, it was midnight. She rubbed her temples in a daze, mories from before her deep sleep gradually seeped into her mind. A flash of realization passed, Qin Sisi suddenly looked up at Ye You, "Did you use magic on ?"
Ye You neither affird nor denied, only said lightly, "Are you ready? We should go."
Qin Sisi glared at Ye You, dissatisfied, but thinking about Xiao Dan’s matter, she didn’t bother to argue with Ye You. She quickly jumped out of the bed and hastily got ready.
Then, as before, she opened the window, summoned the huge, colorful Wings of Rainbow. Once Ye You was seated securely on her shoulder and had called upon the Invisible Bubble, she calmly jumped out of the window.
After several flights, Qin Sisi’s control over the Wings of Rainbow had grown increasingly adept. Her speed and altitude of flight had both improved. At this mont, she was proficiently flying at a height of about five or six ters. Her expression was calm, entirely different from the nervousness of her first flight. A pair of clear, bright eyes stared intently at the road ahead. The glow of the Wings of Rainbow illuminated a short distance, giving her visual aid.
In not too much ti, Qin Sisi and Ye You arrived at Xiyuan Park. Qin Sisi didn’t stop at the entrance but flew directly over the gate towards the place where Xiao Dan had appeared.
As they got closer and closer to the large locust tree where Xiao Dan had leaned against that night, Qin Sisi noticed sothing unusual. The first ti they ca, Xiao Dan was continuously crying. Her heartbreaking cries were especially clear and eerie in the night. You could hear it from the entrance. But now, since Qin Sisi entered Xiyuan Park, all she heard was the rustling sound of wind and leaves, there was no crying.
As she was pondering, they arrived at the location where they had t Xiao Dan. Qin Sisi slowly withdrew her power, landing steadily.
However, once she steadied herself, there was no one under the large locust tree with mottled bark. Qin Sisi looked around but saw no sign of Xiao Dan. Moreover, judging from her bodily sensations, there was only the coolness brought by the autumn wind. There was no chilling feeling that occurred when a ghost appeared.
Could it be that Xiao Dan wasn’t here anymore?
A heaviness settled in Qin Sisi’s heart. She had brought Xiao Dan’s parents according to their agreent, but Xiao Dan had left without a trace. Could it be because she was afraid that Qin Sisi would ask for her Soul Power?
Qin Sisi shouted Xiao Dan’s na aloud unwillingly.
Only the vague echo ca back in response in the night, but nobody answered.
Qin Sisi sighed helplessly, "It seems she really has left."
Ye You pondered, "It shouldn’t be like this. Her spirit lingering in this world is related to this locust tree here, she shouldn’t be able to leave this place. Unless..."
Qin Sisi quickly asked, "Unless what?"
Ye You said solemnly, "Unless when her parents ca today, they brought sothing that had once belonged to her. Then her ghost could attach to it and follow her parents away."
Upon receiving the news about Xiao Dan, her parents, out of longing and sorrow, might have brought sothing that had belonged to Xiao Dan with them. Or out of excessive yearning for Xiao Dan, they might have kept sothing that belonged to her with them all the ti. Both scenarios were likely.
From the looks of it, Xiao Dan’s ghost must have followed her parents ho.
Qin Sisi, with mixed feelings, asked Ye You, "Should we go looking for her?"
Ye You imdiately said, "Of course, we must find her. A lingering ghost is harmful to human bodies. Besides, considering her immature mind, we don’t know what extre things she might do."
Extre things? Qin Sisi frowned, "She probably just wants to stay with her parents, right? How would she do sothing extre? Also, she is just a child."
Ye You explained in a grave tone, "Exactly because she is just a child, she is more likely to be extre. The love and hatred of children often co more easily and are more intense than adults."
Then Ye You asked Qin Sisi, "Do you know what the most difficult ghosts to deal with are like?"
"What kind are they?" Qin Sisi’s curiosity was completely aroused by Ye You.
Ye You said, "One is the old ghost who has undergone long periods of cultivation. The other is the infant ghost who died unexpectedly."
"Infant ghost?" Qin Sisi couldn’t help but exclaim. Old ghosts with long-term cultivation and powerful mana are naturally hard to handle. But why would a tiny infant ghost be terrifying?
Ye You nodded and continued, "The infant’s ntal world is very simple, either black or white, either love or hate. After an unexpected death, the young mind cannot bear the sudden change and will be filled with resentnt towards the world. So, the resentnt of the infant ghost is often much greater than that of the ordinary adult ghost."
