Chapter 410: Chapter 410: The Ghost in the Floor_1

Qin Sisi was perplexed. The song was clearly coming from above, and she could feel the chilling aura of a ghost. So why couldn’t she see any ghosts on the whole second floor?

Qin Sisi looked at Ye You, and his eyes also revealed a hint of confusion. It seed like sothing wasn’t adding up.

Ye You carefully observed the surroundings, the soothing song echoing non-stop in his ears. Suddenly, Ye You said, "The song seems to be coming from below."

Qin Sisi was taken aback. She quickly listened carefully for a while, and then nodded in agreent with Ye You’s statent. From above, the song indeed seed to be coming from below.

After a slight hesitation, Qin Sisi took a step towards the stairs and went down again.

However, when Qin Sisi stood on the first floor, she could clearly feel that the direction from which the song was drifting was from above.

With a look of confusion, Qin Sisi raised her head to look up, but there was nothing but darkness and a ceiling.

She took a deep breath, quickly went upstairs again, and once again checked all the three bedrooms- the result was the sa as the first ti - no discovery.

The song, however, was still being sung soothingly, coming leisurely from below as if the source was very close.

Qin Sisi, helplessly, asked Ye You, "Could it be that the ghost is purposely misleading us, making us run around and waste our energy?"

Ye You shook his head and said solemnly, "A ghost creates a disruption in the air when it moves. I haven’t felt that. She must not have appeared yet."

Qin Sisi was a bit anxious. "Then where could she be? When we are downstairs, the song is upstairs. When we go upstairs, it sounds like she is downstairs..."

At this, Qin Sisi seed to have thought of sothing and paused.

Ye You also had a sudden inspiration. They looked at each other and both directed their gaze towards the wooden floor beneath their feet.

If it’s below the upstairs and above the downstairs, then it must be the floor of the second level.

Could the ghost be hiding in the floorboards?

Qin Sisi conducted another round of inspections in the three bedrooms on the second floor and finally settled on the middle room because the tearful singing and void atmosphere seed the strongest there.

Ye You hopped off Qin Sisi’s shoulder and slowly walked on the floor, using the intensity of the Yin energy to locate the ghost.

After a lap, Ye You stopped over a piece of a wooden board. He looked down for a mont, took two steps back, and lifted his claw to send out a glimr of blue light.

The blue light made a circle around the wooden board, and then with a slight pull from Ye You, the board was lifted.

Ye You set aside the lifted board, and Qin Sisi imdiately stepped forward to look down with Ye You.

At first glance, Qin Sisi drew in a sharp breath and involuntarily stepped back.

Under the floor, shockingly, lay a human arm’s skeleton. The glaring white bones under the lighting from the Ziwei Heaven Fire were even more morbid and horrifying.

At the mont the floor was lifted, the soothing and ethereal music stopped abruptly.

Ye You’s gaze turned dark. He raised his claw again and removed several other surrounding floorboards. A complete human skeleton was revealed, still dressed in an old, yellowed silk nightgown.

Qin Sisi tried to calm herself down and face this skeleton. Judging by the fact that it had turned completely into bones, it must have been dead for a long ti.

Before Qin Sisi could think further, a gust of Yin wind suddenly blew over the skeleton, and a figure floated out.

Unlike the terrifying skeleton, the woman who appeared was graceful, standing tall and upright, with an oval face, almond-shaped eyes, and attractive features. She looked to be about twenty years old. The old, yellowed silk nightgown she was wearing had now turned white.

"Thank you for saving ," the woman said softly. Her voice was clear and ethereal, very similar to the singing voice. It must have been her.

Staring at the suddenly appeared beauty, Qin Sisi was stunned. She paused for a mont before answering, "No need to thank."

The woman’s figure floated around the room. A feeling of profound lancholy welled up at the tale of this otherworldly apparition. She sighed sorrowfully.

Qin Sisi could feel that the woman carried no violent intent and appeared to have a gentle deanor. She sympathetically asked, "Miss, can I ask who you are? Why were you trapped here?"

The woman turned to look at Qin Sisi. Her beautiful eyes glistening, she counter-questioned, "Could you first tell

who you are and what you are doing here?"

After so hesitation, Qin Sisi told the truth, "I am a mage. I ca here to seek out ghosts and collect Soul Power."

The woman’s expression faltered as she sighed, "I knew it, there are no random acts of kindness, lurking behind every pretense of generosity is a hidden agenda."

Qin Sisi felt slightly awkward, and after a pause, she said, "While it’s true that I need Soul Power, I am not forcing. If you have any unfulfilled wishes, I can help you fulfill them. We can consider it a trade."

The woman fell silent for a while before lancholically saying, "Once I had the best, and I have also experienced the worst. For , reincarnation isn’t that important. But there are indeed two things I regret. If you can help

fulfill them, I am willing to give my Soul Power to you."

Qin Sisi’s heart leaped with joy. This woman was really easy to talk to! Without having to persuade, she had already proposed the condition.

Qin Sisi breathed a sigh of relief, "Alright, I’ll do my very best."

However, the woman didn’t speak imdiately. Instead, she looked up at the dim, desolate, and dusty room again, reminiscing about the once affluent and comfortable days.

After a while, the woman began her story, "My family na is Shu, and my first na is Wanyi. We are from the south, but later my father ca to the north on business, and our whole family moved to S City.

As the only daughter in the family, my father spoiled

a lot. Throughout those years I was alive, all I tasted in life was sweet.

We had a servant called Ah Tian. He ca to our family when I was ten. You could say that he watched

grow up."

When she ntioned Ah Tian, Shu Wanyi’s voice fluctuated, and her expression beca sorrowful and angry.

"He is ten years older than . Smart and diligent, my father fancied him a lot and let him help with the business, and paid him a generous monthly wage.

Whenever he had ti, he would spend it with . He was very kind to . In my heart, he was a really nice elder brother.

Then, ten years passed, I grew up. Ah Tian, however, remained unmarried. My father once tried to match him with a housemaid, but he refused.

I thought he hadn’t t the one he liked, but it turned out, he had designs on .

Later, he often found opportunities to be alone with

and declared his love for

indirectly.

I told him very clearly that it was impossible and began to avoid him. But I didn’t tell my parents; I thought it was not a big deal.

Back then, I didn’t really guard against him. I thought once I rejected him, it would be fine. I never thought that he would turn out to be so beastly."
