Chapter 40: Chapter 40 A Mont of Happiness_1
The wedding had not yet concluded, but the duration of the Invisible Bubble was quickly nearing its end. Wishing to avoid any trouble, Qin Sisi quietly slipped out of the hotel and found a calm spot nearby to wait patiently.
After the wedding hall bustled for a while longer and the banquet gradually wound down, Song Ziheng and Xiu Ai felt rather tired after sending off all the guests and taking care of the hotel matters.
Song Ziheng led Xiu Ai out of the hotel, guiding her into a rather high-end car. Once they were seated in the back row, Song Ziheng affectionately draped his arm around Xiu Ai’s shoulder. Feeling shy yet joyful, Xiu Ai leaned her head onto Song Ziheng’s shoulder, her heart pounding like a startled deer.
"Old Iron, can we go now?" asked the young man seated in the driver’s seat with a chuckle.
With a smile, Song Ziheng replied, "Let’s go, thanks for your efforts, Xiao Feng."
"Such words are not necessary!" Xiao Feng laughed in response. With a hard press on the accelerator, the car shot off like an arrow loosed from a bow.
Qin Sisi, holding Ye You, erged from a corner near the hotel. As the car sped out of sight, she turned to Ye You with a hint of helplessness, "What should we do now? We can’t possibly chase after the car, right?"
"Why should we chase the car?" Ye You asked, glancing at her.
Qin Sisi stared blankly and responded, "Aren’t we supposed to follow Xiu Ai? What if we can’t find her?"
Ye You took a deliberate pause before saying with implied aning, "The newlywed couple is headed to their bridal chamber. Are you sure we should follow?"
"..." Qin Sisi glared at Ye You, her fair cheeks instantly reddening. Unable to say anything in retort, she turned her head away from Ye You in a mixture of embarrassnt and annoyance.
Ye You secretly chuckled as he watched Qin Sisi’s flushed expression. He then calmly suggested, "Let’s go ho and rest first. We’ll co back out later tonight to find her."
Taking in Ye You’s nonchalant deanor, Qin Sisi decided to ignore his previous comnt and asked in a businesslike tone, "Will you be able to find her?"
Ye You nodded. "She has spent so ti in my spatial domain. I have beco reasonably familiar with her - enough to be able to sense her."
The implications of these words sat oddly with Qin Sisi. Even though Xiu Ai was just a ghost, she was not only female, but also quite attractive.
Unable to resist, Qin Sisi knowingly asked, "If we were very far apart, could you sense ?"
Ye You replied imdiately, "Of course, we have a Blood Covenant."
"Ah, right." Qin Sisi almost forgot about the Blood Covenant. With Ye You suddenly bringing it up, her curiosity was piqued. She asked further, "Can...Can I sense you?"
After pondering for a mont, Ye You said, "Theoretically, yes. However, your magical strength is still weak, so your ability to do so might not be very significant."
"I see." Qin Sisi responded disappointedly, realizing that there was still quite a gap between her and Ye You.
Qin Sisi put Ye You into her backpack and took a taxi back to their accommodation. After an early dinner, they focused on getting so rest.
Having gone without good sleep the previous night and throughout the day, coupled with the significant quantity of Spiritual Power expended while helping Xiu Ai control Xia Han’s body, Ye You also felt sowhat tired. He hopped to the far end of the bed and languidly laid down.
Qin Sisi lay down on the edge of the bed and glanced at Ye You. Having him by her side made her feel secure, an inexplicable sense of safety. She gently shut her eyes and, with Ye You’s company, quickly drifted off to sleep.
At three in the morning, without needing an alarm, Ye You opened his eyes right on schedule and woke Qin Sisi.
They quickly tidied up, Ye You opened a window and climbed onto Qin Sisi’s shoulders. With a solemn tone, he said, "I’ve activated the Invisible Bubble; you can summon the Wings of Rainbow now."
"Okay." Qin Sisi responded. She took a deep breath and shouted loudly, "Wings of Rainbow!"
The magnificent rainbow-colored wings spread from behind her, lightly flapping twice, instantly bathing the room in brilliant colors.
Having experienced this before, Qin Sisi was now much more relaxed. Standing on the windowsill, taking in the endless dark blue sky, she dived down without panic.
At three or four ters above the ground, Qin Sisi was flying with caution. Her massive wings flapped rhythmically. Although the control took a bit of effort, she felt noticeably more practiced than the day before.
The Wings of Rainbow, dazzling and vibrant, were like a flourish of brilliant lights against the vast night sky. Sadly, due to the protection of the Invisible Bubble, they remained invisible to the ordinary eye, and all one could see was the panoramic view of the starry sky.
Under Ye You’s guidance, Qin Sisi neared a relatively new residential complex. The environnt was wonderful - tall buildings scattered amongst green fields, a few leisure facilities and fitness equipnt dispersed here and there, all surrounding a shimring artificial lake.
Qin Sisi stopped in front of a tall building, then began flapping her wings harder, starting to ascend. Qin Sisi, who had just about mastered regular flight and was feeling sowhat complacent, felt deflated at the challenge the upward climb presented.
Song Ziheng’s house was on the tenth floor. With gritted teeth, Qin Sisi struggled to climb upwards, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
Ye You watched her closely, his purple eyes brimming with worry. It was not that he didn’t feel sympathetic. It was not that he didn’t have a solution either. It was just that, for the future he envisioned, she needed to continually grow stronger in order to make it a reality.
After more than a half-hour of effort, Qin Sisi finally gripped the edge of the tenth-floor balcony.
Perhaps those who lived on high floors all felt an inexplicable sense of security, and thus didn’t bother to lock their windows. As such, with a bit of force, Qin Sisi pushed open one of the glass panes. Hanging onto the window ledge, she jumped into the balcony and retracted the Wings of Rainbow.
Relieved, Qin Sisi wiped the sweat off her brow, turned toward Ye You and said with a relaxed smile, "We’ve finally made it."
Ye You blinked and replied with a slight "mm
