Chapter 389: Chapter 389: The Person in the Painting_1
Qin Sisi stared at the breath-taking beauty in the painting, feeling an odd sensation rise in her heart again.
Yet upon a closer examination, her mind was still clear. She didn’t feel disoriented like Ning Hao had a mont ago.
Why could that be? Was it because she used magic?
Qin Sisi looked at Ye You in her arms with puzzlent. Ye You t her gaze, owing twice as if to say, "I’m fine. This little illusion charm can’t affect ."
Illusion charm? It indeed had sothing to do with magic.
However, Qin Sisi turned her attention back to Sister Zeng, her urgency evident, yet her manner was normal. She asked, "Sister Zeng, can you look at this painting? Tell
what you feel."
Upon hearing this, Sister Zeng took two steps forward and turned her attention to the portrayal of classical beauty.
After a mont, Sister Zeng shook her head, saying, "The woman in the painting is very beautiful, but it’s just a painting. I don’t feel anything special."
Apparently, the painting didn’t seem to affect Sister Zeng in any way.
Qin Sisi frowned slightly. Even knowing there was sothing off about the painting, she was still perplexed as to what had happened to Xiao Fei.
Her gaze landed on Xiao Fei’s easel. Qin Sisi walked over leisurely and seated herself on a round stool behind the easel.
This must have been where Xiao Fei usually painted, with paper, brush, and paints all available.
As Qin Sisi sat there, she looked up and found that the painting of the classical beauty was right in front of her eyes.
On the top sheet on the easel, the background of that painting was being drawn. The beautiful green leaves and red flowers behind the woman, the elegant pavilions, but at the spot where the woman should have been drawn, there was an empty silhouette.
The highlight of the painting of the classical beauty was the woman herself, everything else rely a backdrop. Why had Xiao Fei only drawn the background and left the pivotal woman blank?
Was it because of the illusion charm?
Qin Sisi fell into deep thought for a mont before turning to Ning Hao to ask, "Can you rember what you were thinking when you first saw this painting?"
Ning Hao reflected for a mont. His expression grew awkward, but seeing Qin Sisi’s sincere and earnest expression, he plucked up the courage to answer, "I think I thought to myself, how lovely the woman in the painting was. If she existed in reality, many people would fall for her."
As Ning Hao spoke, he gauged Qin Sisi’s expressions nervously, fearing she’d think of him as so licentious individual. Back then, he’d rely contemplated that thought briefly with absolutely no disrespect intended. He had no idea why he’d been so easily bewitched.
Qin Sisi did not ponder Ning Hao’s thoughts, instead, pondered over his words.
If the woman in the painting existed in reality?
If even a steadfast policeman could feel a fleeting attraction, what more a young man like Xiao Fei, fresh out of school, filled with youthful vigor?
Xiao Fei must have harbored the sa thoughts while copying the painting in front of the easel. His hesitation to start painting must have been him wishing for the woman in the painting to be real, right?
But where on earth had Xiao Fei gone?
Qin Sisi lifted herself from the stool behind the easel, walked unhurriedly towards the painting of the classical beauty and examined it closely.
When the soul is drawn, can the body disappear along with it?
Qin Sisi’s gaze slowly road over the painting, searching for its secrets.
Ning Hao and Sister Zeng were close behind her. Sister Zeng’s gaze strayed toward Qin Sisi’s back, puzzled. She whispered to Ning Hao, "Little Ning, what is this young lady trying to do?"
Ning Hao knew that Sister Zeng couldn’t trust Qin Sisi, whom she’d just t. He replied, "Her na is Qin Sisi. She... has extraordinary powers. She can see things others cannot."
Sister Zeng was taken aback and then asked after so thought, "Was it her who had you call ?"
Sister Zeng was a police officer too, her thoughts were logical and thodical. She was only transferred to the logistics departnt as she aged.
There was no reason to hide it. Ning Hao admitted truthfully, "Yes. She saw Xiao Fei at the mall and felt that sothing was off with him. That’s why she asked
to call you, and see if we could co over."
Sister Zeng nodded, her anxiety far from alleviated. Xiao Fei had vanished so suddenly. Could this young woman truly help them find him?
Sister Zeng contemplated for a while before saying to Ning Hao, "Little Ning, should we call the police? We can get so more colleagues to help us look for him."
Ning Hao hesitated, then said solemnly to Sister Zeng, "Sister Zeng, Sisi has helped
a lot. I trust her. Can you give her a bit more ti? If she truly can’t do anything, we’ll call the police, okay?"
Sister Zeng wore a dubious expression on her face. She wasn’t entirely convinced with Qin Sisi, but she trusted Ning Hao.
While Sister Zeng was still in hesitation, Qin Sisi, who was standing in front of the painting of classical beauty, let out a sudden scream.
"What happened?" Ning Hao imdiately asked, tension built up.
Qin Sisi turned around, her face was shocked and panicked. She yelled at them, "Quick, you both need to see this."
Ning Hao and Sister Zeng looked at each other before rushing over to the painting.
Qin Sisi pointed at an inconspicuous corner of the painting, saying, "Look, isn’t that Xiao Fei?"
Both Ning Hao and Sister Zeng squinted at the corner. On a patch of lush grass outside the pavilion, there sat a good-looking young man, gazing up in awe at the classical beauty.
The vivid image of the young man was, indeed, Xiao Fei!
"No!" Sister Zeng nearly lost it, rushing to grab the painting, shouting loudly, "Xiao Fei, my child, co back. Co back!"
Ning Hao pulled Sister Zeng back, saying sternly, "Sister Zeng, calm down. We’ll figure sothing out."
With her body weakening, Sister Zeng was about to collapse. She clung on to Ning Hao’s hand and said, "Little Ning..."
Then, rembering what Ning Hao had said about Qin Sisi’s extraordinary capabilities, Sister Zeng released Ning Hao’s hand and grabbed Qin Sisi’s shoulder instead, "Miss, Miss Sisi, save my son, please. He’s a good boy. He has never done anything bad. You have to save him!"
Qin Sisi gripped Sister Zeng’s hand in return, calming her gently, "Sister Zeng, don’t panic, let
take another good look."
Qin Sisi and Ning Hao helped Sister Zeng sit down on the bed before returning to the painting for another examination.
After observing closely, they made another critical discovery. Xiao Fei wasn’t the only man in the painting.
Hidden around the painting, in the grass, under the tree shadows, beside the pavilion, there were more than twenty n, each different in dress, age, appearance, and deanor.
