Chapter 382: 382
As ti passed, the dead of night descended once again.
When the Yin energy in the air was sufficiently dense, Qin Sisi took out a stack of yellow paper and let Ye You infuse it with a thread of spiritual power. She then went to the northwest corner of the room and lit it with fire magic.
The thin yellow paper flared up in red and yellow flas, turning into a heap of black ashes in the blink of an eye.
Then a gust of chilly wind ca by, dispersing the ashes which quickly disappeared without a trace.
Then, Lan Di, with his blue hair, blue skin, blue clothes, and blue shoes appeared before Qin Sisi.
Unlike usual, he was not alone. There was a woman dressed in a light blue dress by his side. It was Pei Pei, the one who quarreled and made up with him intermittently.
Qin Sisi looked at the two who appeared together, feeling a bit strange, she joked, "The sun is rising from the west today, you two are showing up together for once."
Pei Pei looked at Qin Sisi amicably, her lips curling up into a shy, yet sweet smile.
However, Lan Di gave Qin Sisi a disdainful look and grumbled in apparent annoyance, "Don’t talk about that old man to , don’t you know we fear him the most?"
Qin Sisi was perplexed, "Who is this old man?"
Pei Pei grinned and said sweetly, "It’s the Sun!"
Uh... alright.
Qin Sisi was both amused and bemused.
Lan Di curled up his finger and flicked it against Qin Sisi’s forehead. He teased, "Aiyah, so pretty but so naive! Seems like that cat hasn’t been training you well. How about you consider switching?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a gust of wind rushed towards him.
Startled, Lan Di hastily dodged to the side. The gust of wind swept between Lan Di and Pei Pei and slamd into the wall not too far behind them.
With a "wong" sound, the wall seed to shake a few tis, causing the floor to tremble as well, as though there had been a minor earthquake.
In both shock and anger, Lan Di yelled at Ye You, "Black Cat, are you trying to demolish the house?"
Ye You glanced at Lan Di and replied indifferently, "I know my limits."
Lan Di’s blue hair looked as if it was about to stand on end out of anger, he rebuked, "What the hell are your limits! If it wasn’t for my swift reaction, would I have been disfigured, do you realize that? To disfigure a face! How dire the consequences would be, don’t you know that this handso guy here earns a living off his looks?"
Facing Lan Di’s anger, Ye You was still cool and calm, "You were asking for it."
Lan Di was so angry he was almost speechless. He pointed at Ye You and stuttered "You...you..." for quite a while, before finally catching his breath and saying, "I was only joking, don’t you understand the concept of a joke?"
Ye You responded calmly, "I don’t joke with people I’m not close to."
Lan Di’s blue skin flushed red, then turned black, it was unclear what color it really was.
Seeing Ye You, who was infuriating but unrepentant, and Lan Di, whose face seed like it was a dye workshop, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but want to laugh. She cleared her throat to play the peacemaker, "Alright, let’s talk about serious matters. Pei Pei, co sit. Would you like so water?"
Before Pei Pei could answer, Lan Di had already flounced off Pei Pei and sat on the sofa, huffing, "Get
so ice water to cool off my temper."
Qin Sisi awkwardly responded, "We don’t have ice water at the mont. If you want so, you’ll have to wait for a while. I’ll put so water in the fridge to chill."
Pei Pei politely declined, "No need, lukewarm water is fine."
And so, Qin Sisi poured a cup of hot tea for Pei Pei, while she offered Lan Di a cup of room temperature water.
Lan Di gulped down the water, took a deep breath, and gave Ye You another angry glare before stiffly turning his neck aside and admitted, "Let’s make one thing clear, I won’t do strenuous tasks like last ti."
Last ti, when he assisted Qian Qian in queue jumping for reincarnation, Lan Di indeed exerted a great deal of effort.
Ye You responded in a relaxed manner, "The one who fainted due to exhaustion of spiritual power last ti seed to be ."
Lan Di choked on his words, "I also put in a lot of effort! Without my detailed arrangent, even with your powerful spiritual power, it would have been difficult to succeed."
Lan Di was not wrong. After all, he, a Ghost Immortal, was naturally more familiar with the affairs of the underworld than Ye You.
Worried that the two would start arguing again, Qin Sisi quickly tapped Ye You and whispered, "Let it go."
Ye You softly glanced at Qin Sisi, and indeed he obediently stayed quiet.
Lan Di sneered and teased, "Black Cat, you’re fierce to , but so gentle to Sisi. Looks like you will be a henpecked husband in the future!"
Ye You coldly retorted, "If only you weren’t scared."
Lan Di patted his chest and said defiantly, "I’m not even the slightest bit. I am handso and suave, the ladies are always falling over themselves to get to . Whoever I choose to care about, I do. Whoever I don’t want to, I don’t."
Upon hearing Lan Di’s words, Qin Sisi felt that sothing was amiss. She glanced at Pei Pei, whose face had indeed beco very unpleasant.
Feeling Qin Sisi’s eyes, Pei Pei forced a smile and nodded at Qin Sisi. She then awkwardly turned her head away.
Fearing that Lan Di would say sothing misconstrued again, Qin Sisi quickly pulled out the piece of paper with the birth dates of Lu Yimin, Fan Xiaoe, and Zhou Yuan from her pocket, and said to Lan Di, "The ones I am looking for are the last two people on the list."
Lan Di took the paper, scanned it, and asked, "They’re not relatives, right?"
Qin Sisi shook her head and replied, "No, an old friend would like to see them one last ti. He doesn’t intend to disturb them."
"Alright." Lan Di pocketed the paper, told Qin Sisi, "The information is detailed. The news will be back shortly."
Qin Sisi hurriedly thanked him, "Thank you."
Lan Di glanced at Ye You beside him and said languidly, "No need to thank . Just take the ti to train your cat well. God forbid I might get disfigured accidentally one day."
Qin Sisi wanted to laugh but also felt embarrassed to do so. She reassured in a weird expression, "No, no, rest assured."
Ye You side-eyed Lan Di, originally wanting to say sothing. However, rembering that Qin Sisi asked him to keep quiet, he gulped down his words that were intended to vex Lan Di.
"If there’s nothing else, then I won’t disturb you any further." Lan Di made a suggestive comnt that made Qin Sisi blush. Then, raising an eyebrow, he walked straight towards the northwest corner of the room.
Getting to the spot where he appeared, he realized that Pei Pei hadn’t followed him.
Lan Di frowned and turned back to look. Pei Pei had indeed risen from the sofa, but she hadn’t moved.
"Are you not leaving?" Lan Di felt sowhat displeased.
Pei Pei did not answer, but looked at Lan Di and held out a hand. It was clear, she wanted him to hold her hand and leave together.
Pei Pei’s expression didn’t change, her eyes were obstinate; a side of her that was usually unseen.
Lan Di expressed so impatience, "Don’t be so lodramatic. Are you going or not?"
Pei Pei still did not answer. Her expression, gaze, and movents remained unchanged as she stared obstinately at Lan Di.
