Chapter 339: Chapter 339: The Concubine’s Revenge_1
The ghost’s spiritual power was relatively potent, which allowed her to sense the strength of Divine Dog’s Fury. It made her extrely cautious, and she did not dare to engage directly. Instead, she sidestepped, using defense as her offense.
For so ti, Qin Sisi was unable to deal any blows.
After continuously swinging Divine Dog’s Fury, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but feel exhausted. Her movents slowed down.
Spotting an opportunity, the ghost waited until the gap after one whip was dodged and the next had not yet been swung, then blew a breath of black smoke towards Qin Sisi.
Seeing the ghost’s underhanded move, Qin Sisi hurriedly stepped back, raising her right hand and using the mahogany bracelet on her wrist to cover her mouth and nose.
The black smoke drifted towards Qin Sisi, and she could already sll a putrid odor similar to decay.
However, when it encountered the mahogany bracelet, the black smoke began to fade gradually until it disappeared entirely.
The ghost was taken aback, it did not occur to her that Qin Sisi would have such an artifact.
Qin Sisi also imdiately reconsidered her battle strategy. Seeing the ghost’s elusive figure floating in mid-air, she had a sudden realization.
Drifting in mid-air was certainly more agile than walking on the ground, no wonder the ghost had been able to dodge so easily.
"Wings of Rainbow!"
With a soft shout from Qin Sisi, multicolored wings unfolded behind her, casting a splendid glow that filled the entire room with dazzling colors.
The ghost, feeling even more astounded, realized she may have underestimated the woman in front of her.
Hovering mid-air with the Wings of Rainbow and the ghost, Qin Sisi once again lashed out with Divine Dog’s Fury.
The ghost hastily dodged, narrowly avoiding the sharp, cold fang at the tip of Divine Dog’s Fury.
"Fireball Technique!" Qin Sisi sternly voiced, and with a shove of her hand, directed it towards the ghost.
The ghost, engrossed with Divine Dog’s Fury, failed to anticipate Qin Sisi’s sudden launching of the fireball.
Although the fireball was not big, the ghost dared not underestimate it and quickly dodged the expelled fireball from Qin Sisi with sudden shifts to the left and right.
Seizing the opportunity while the ghost was in disarray, Qin Sisi once again lashed out with Divine Dog’s Fury.
The ghost had long been prepared and dodged to the side.
Yet, Qin Sisi gritted her teeth, lunged forward, and with the height of Wings of Rainbow reduced, she directly plunged in front of the ghost, wrapping her arms around the ghost’s waist from behind.
Alard, the ghost raised her hand, with long nails ready to stab into the arm Qin Sisi had wrapped around her.
"Fireball Technique!"
In haste, Qin Sisi cried out. Gathering the magic power swiftly, she violently slapped the right hand on the ghost’s waist.
A few sparks exploded from the ghost’s body but extinguished imdiately afterward.
"Ah!" The ghost let out a heart-rending shriek, with a violent shake of her body, she shook off Qin Sisi and retreated hurriedly to a corner of the room.
Qin Sisi fell to the ground, her right palm trembling as she held it up.
She had indeed hit the ghost with the Fireball Technique, but because her hand was held up against the ghost’s body, she was also injured. The entire palm was scorched black by the fireball.
The ghost’s floating figure was sowhat shaky in mid-air; it appeared she had suffered no minor injuries.
Observing Qin Sisi slowly standing up, the ghost sneered, "Forget it, consider it my bad luck. I’ll let go of the Luminous Pearl, and I won’t take the life of this jerk either. He won’t live much longer, anyway."
The ghost, with a resentful glare at Qin Sisi, swiftly turned her body and made for the window.
"Don’t run!" Qin Sisi yelled desperately.
Having finally injured the ghost, how could she allow her to escape?
Just as the ghost was about to fly out of the window and leave, suddenly, a small dark figure flashed in front of the ghost, blocking her path.
Fixing her gaze on the figure, the ghost found the figure to be a black cat.
The ghost, naturally unaware of Ye You’s prowess, turned her head towards Qin Sisi and shouted, "Girl, don’t think that beating
equates to winning. Even if I can’t kill you, I have a way to take you down with . Quickly move your cat out of the way!"
Qin Sisi did not respond, her expression gradually calming down.
Ye You had already made his move; the ghost was sure not to escape.
Observing Qin Sisi ignore her words, the ghost was enraged and bellowed. She lunged at Ye You, hands curled like claws.
Ye You avoided the ghost’s strikes, his body floating mid-air powered by his own strength. His claws quickly t the rushing ghost with several violent claws’ swipe. Streaks of purple light, akin to streaks of lightning in the dead of night, rushed towards the ghost with frigid, turbulent energy.
The ghost felt a power far greater than hers engulfing her, she barely had ti to react when a strange feeling arose within her body.
She felt both extrely cold, yet also unbearably hot.
Looking down, the ghost noticed several fresh wounds on her own body with strands of black smoke seeping out.
Startled, the ghost stared at the black cat in front of her.
If the woman earlier had been surprising, this black cat was downright terrifying.
Ye You, seeing the ghost had lost her ability to fight, flicked his claws and the Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope flew out, binding the ghost tightly.
The ghost looked at Ye You, her gaze filled with both fear and rage.
Approaching the ghost, Qin Sisi fought the pain in her palm and asked, "What the hell are you, ghost? Why are you harming people here?"
The ghost gave a bitter smile, and croaked, "Harm? I say they all deserve to die! They were the ones who started bothering ."
A hint of confusion flashed in Qin Sisi’s eyes. She asked further, "How did they bother you?"
The ghost defiantly retorted, "Since I fell into your hands, my fate is yours to decide. Quit the palaver!"
Feeling helpless, Qin Sisi looked to Ye You. Ye You jumped onto the ghost’s head, laid his paw on her forehead, and started to extract her recent mories.
A few minutes later, Ye You released his grip and "owed" a few tis at Qin Sisi.
Turns out, the ghost was indeed a concubine of the Imperial Palace during the Qing Dynasty. After her death, she was buried in the Imperial Tomb in the suburbs of Beijing. Although she was low-ranking, there were still so burial objects in her tomb.
Mi Jun used to work in another province, and wanted to return ho for the New Year holidays. However, his boss owed him part of his wages. Mi Jun wanted to buy so goods for his family’s New Year celebration, but was short of cash.
There’s truth to the saying, ’Man dies for wealth and birds die for food.’
Mi Jun had long heard of an ancient tomb nearby. He and a coworker discussed and carefully planned, deciding to rob this concubine’s tomb together.
Unbeknownst to them, the tomb had already been robbed; there were virtually no burial goods left. Mi Jun and his coworker decided to press on, forcing open the coffin and took away two items from the corpse.
Mi Jun’s coworker took the jade bracelet from the concubine’s wrist.
Mi Jun pried open the corpse’s mouth and took the Luminous Pearl.
The two n’s disrespect towards the concubine’s remains enraged her ghost, who decided to follow them, waiting for an opportunity to retaliate and reclaim her two items.
