Chapter 328: Chapter 328: Repaying Debts After Death_1

Qin Sisi understood Ye You’s intent, stood up straight, tightly gripped the Divine Dog’s Fury in her hand, and then coughed lightly twice.

Those in deep sleep wouldn’t be able to hear, but the ghosts who are most awake at night would certainly be able to.

As expected, the old man in the bedroom who was tapping his bowl with chopsticks heard the coughing from outside the window. His face changed, and he imdiately put away his chopsticks and bowl, swiftly drifting out of the room.

Qin Sisi moved a distance into the courtyard to prevent her voice from waking the sleeping people.

The ghost of the old man saw Qin Sisi standing in the courtyard and was quite surprised, asking bewildered, "Where did you, a young girl, co from? What are you doing at my house?"

Qin Sisi responded with a slight smile, "Old man, I’m here to help you."

Looking at Qin Sisi suspiciously, the old man asked, "Help ? What can you help

with?"

In a soft voice, Qin Sisi replied, "You’ve been appearing in dreams for about half a month now, right? It doesn’t seem to have any effect. If you have a wish, why not tell , and I can pass it on for you."

The old man looked surprised for a mont, then caught up and asked, "Are you a Mage?"

Because besides a Mage, who else could see him so easily and know what he had been doing?

Qin Sisi nodded and said, "Old man, this isn’t the best place to talk. Let’s go sowhere else to discuss in detail, shall we?"

"Alright." After hesitating for a while, the old man finally agreed.

Getting consent from the old man, Ye You’s claws lunged in his direction. The old man’s figure imdiately vanished, as Ye You took him into his Portable Space.

Qin Sisi and Ye You looked at each other brilliantly, full of confidence.

Ye You raised his claws, drew a semicircle above his head, and used magic to condense a translucent silver sphere. They returned to the inn they had been staying at, both riding in it.

It was late at night, and recently people had been frightened by tales of the vengeful ghost of the old man seeking paynt of debts, no one dared to go out. So, Qin Sisi and Ye You easily returned to their room.

Ye You retracted the silver sphere, and they both steadied themselves on the floor. Then, with a wave of his claw Ye You released the old man’s ghost.

The old man had been pulled into Ye You’s Portable Space and his vision went black. Nobody responded to his speech and he was in a panic. Suddenly, his vision brightened again and he saw the young girl mage once more.

The old man, relieved, stuttered, "Young lady, you nearly scared

to death."

Qin Sisi replied sowhat speechlessly, "Old man, you’re already dead."

"Oh... right. Died... I already died... sigh..." He sighed with a hoarse voice then looked at Qin Sisi again and asked, "Young lady, you said you could help ?"

Qin Sisi nodded and solemnly replied, "Old man, since your soul cannot rest, you must have experienced great injustice, and you must have unfulfilled wishes. I can fulfill your wishes and put an end to your regrets."

The old man was silent for a while then whispered, "Young lady, although I am uneducated, I know there is no such thing as a free lunch. Do you want , an old man, to do sothing for you in exchange for your help?"

Qin Sisi spoke frankly, "I want Soul Power."

The old man was first stunned, then mumbled to himself, "That sounds about right."

There’s always a catch when soone is overly enthusiastic, that’s just human nature.

An act of selfless help isn’t nonexistent, but it’s rare to co by.

Qin Sisi didn’t say anything more. She had made her intentions clear and explained her aims, it now depended on whether the old man was willing.

Regarding this matter, Qin Sisi was 80 percent confident.

The old man wasn’t a fierce ghost. Although he was filled with anger and sadness, there was no heavy malice on him.

His unrest in death lied in his attachnt to his kin, he dearly loved his two sons and desperately longed for their care and filial piety.

As she thought, after the old man pondered for a mont, he softly said, "Alright, young lady, my life isn’t worth much. If you want it, take it. As long as my two sons and daughters-in-law can properly pay respects to , I will be content."

A smile appeared at the corner of Qin Sisi’s lips, she promised loudly, "Alright, old man, I will definitely fulfill your wish."

Ye You owed a couple of tis at her side, reminding Qin Sisi of sothing.

Qin Sisi nodded imperceptibly, then asked the old man, "Old man, how would you like them to pay respect to you?"

Sorrow flashed across the old man’s face, and with trembling, parched lips, he asked, "Young lady, do you know how I died?"

Caught off guard, Qin Sisi hesitantly responded, "I heard... starved to death."

It seed like she had hit a nerve. The old man started to shakily share his story of his sons’ and daughters-in-law’s cruelty and unfilial actions.

In the end, the old man said in a low voice, "I suffered for them my whole life, only to starve to death in the end. I wish I can’t let it end this simply.

I want them to burn nine bundles of yellow paper for , nine trillion Joss Papers, ninety bags of Gold ingots.

I also want them to prepare sixteen dishes of eight ats and eight vegetables, then mourn in front of my grave for three days, only then will I stop bothering them."

Qin Sisi thought about it; adding up all these goods, they wouldn’t cost too much. So she responded, "Alright, I will be sure to deliver your ssage and have them do as you said."

The old man’s face finally softened a bit, seemingly seeing hope for his sons’ and daughters-in-law’s filial piety.

Qin Sisi then said, "Old man, it’s late. I’ll hold onto you for now, and I’ll take care of things as soon as it’s dawn."

The old man nodded, but then puzzledly asked, "Young lady, you’re not tricking , are you?"

Amused, Qin Sisi replied, "Old man, if I don’t deliver, you can simply not give

your Soul Power ."

"Makes sense," the old man mumbled.

They reached an agreent smoothly and with a motion of Ye You’s claws, the old man’s ghost was taken into the Portable Space.

Qin Sisi and Ye You then discussed their approach before finally going back to bed to rest.

At dawn, Qin Sisi was awakened by the knocking on the door by the inn’s old landlady.

"Miss, it’s ti to get up, ti for breakfast."

Qin Sisi rubbed her tired eyes and glanced impishly at Ye You.

Staying at soone else’s place was inconvenient; she felt like she had just gone to sleep and was already woken up without fully recovering her energy.

After stretching, Qin Sisi slowly got up from the bed, put on her coat, and left the room.

She washed her face with cold water outside and started to feel a little more awake.

Qin Sisi followed the old lady into the couple’s living suite where a al had already been set up on a small square table.
