Chapter 280: Chapter 280: Ye You’s Sorrow_1

Chen Lan, not seeing anything out of the ordinary, slowly shook her head in confusion and asked, "What’s the matter with this mirror?"

Qin Sisi said in a deep voice, "The mirror is an object of utmost Yin, it depletes the Yang energy in the room and attracts ghosts. Moreover, this mirror of yours is positioned facing the bed, which can have adverse effects on your health.

If I’m not mistaken, you must’ve had poor sleep quality to begin with?"

Chen Lan paused before nodding, "Yes, I usually toss and turn in bed for quite a while before falling asleep. And even then, I’m a light sleeper and get startled awake by the slightest noise."

Qin Sisi spoke thoughtfully, "Perhaps Zhou Zing intended to approach other people too, but was unable to accomplish that due to certain reasons.

For instance, her spiritual power could be weak because she hasn’t been dead for long. She might not have dared to approach adult males with abundant Yang energy, or perhaps she was afraid of sothing in other people’s rooms."

"However, your room has high Yin energy and this mirror she could inhabit. Having a generally weaker constitution, your Yang energy is hardly elevating, making it easier for her to co close to you and to reach out to you via dreams."

At this point, Chen Lan was starting to feel a prickle of fear and her gaze on the mirror changed. She asked sowhat panic-stricken, "What should I do then? Should I throw away this dressing table right away?"

Qin Sisi tried to reassure her, "Don’t feel overly frightened. The mirror can be dealt with only when it’s daylight. I’ve already put Zhou Zing’s ghost away. The deleterious effects of the mirror will only manifest over a long period of ti. It’s unlikely that another ghost will be attracted to it in such a short ti."

"But..." Chen Lan was hesitantly looking at the mirror.

If Qin Sisi hadn’t told her, she wouldn’t have felt anything. But after Qin Sisi talked about it, she suddenly felt that the mirror was creepy, even her reflection seed unfamiliar to her.

Observing Chen Lan’s visible fright, Qin Sisi glanced around, found a sowhat oversized clothing piece, and hung it over the top of the dressing table to cover the mirror.

Chen Lan asked in bewildernt, "Is this okay?"

Qin Sisi explained, "By doing this, it reduces the mirror’s reflection and mitigates its negative effects on the room and individuals. However, it’s just a temporary solution. Once the day breaks, it would be better if you stopped using this dressing table."

Chen Lan nodded vigorously, "I will rember. Assign it for disposal tomorrow."

Even if Qin Sisi hadn’t ntioned it, Chen Lan would not have used it again.

Qin Sisi heaved a sigh of relief and said, "Alright then, it’s quite late. You better rest."

Chen Lan hesitated a little as she glanced at Qin Sisi, seemingly having sothing to say but holding back.

Qin Sisi contemplated upon this and asked, "You’re not afraid of sleeping alone, are you?"

Feeling sowhat awkward, Chen Lan blushed as she nodded in agreent.

Looking at Chen Lan’s pitiful appearance, Sisi had no choice but to say, "Alright then, you go sleep on the bed. I’ll sit on the chair and watch over you."

With that, Qin Sisi brought a chair with a backrest from the dining room and placed it beside the bed.

Chen Lan laid on the bed, while Sisi sat on the chair, kicking off her slippers and rested her feet at the edge of the bed, cradling Ye You as she ditated.

With Sisi nearby, Chen Lan finally cald down and managed to sleep for a few hours before dawn.

Although she had a short sleep, Chen Lan felt much relieved compared to the recurring nightmares she had previously suffered.

The next day, as dawn was just breaking, Sisi heard so commotion outside.

Seeing that it was already getting brighter outside, she figured that Chen Lan should not be scared anymore. Carrying Ye You, she left Chen Lan’s bedroom.

Indeed, in the kitchen, Shan Shan was bustling around busily.

Sisi walked over and laughed, "You’re becoming more and more virtuous now!"

Shan Shan turned her head to see Sisi, sticking out her tongue and replied, "Can’t help it, no one is taking care of

and I have to fend for myself."

Then, Shan Shan glanced at Chen Lan’s bedroom door and asked in hushed voice, "How about last night?"

Sisi gave Shan Shan a reassuring smile and said, "Don’t worry, everything went smoothly. The situation with Chen Lan has been resolved, but there are still a few other matters to deal with, which is why I might have to stay here for a few more days."

"That’s great!" Shan Shan grinned brightly.

Sisi looked baffled and asked, "What’s so great?"

Shan Shan giggled and replied, "In the next couple of days, I’ll be working and won’t have ti to accompany you. It’s a good thing that you’re staying longer, I can show you around N City over the weekend as a way of returning the host’s courtesy."

Sisi laughed it off indifferently, "It’s not needed, I’m here not for tourism."

Shan Shan shook her head firmly and responded, "Of course it is. I’ll be acquainted with it indeed. You’ve helped

so much in S City and I haven’t been able to express my gratitude."

Just as Sisi was about to respond, she heard Chen Lan’s voice from behind, "Shan Shan is right, I should also express my gratitude to you."

Sisi turned around and saw Chen Lan walking over, smiling sweetly. Perhaps it was because the nightmare scenario was finally resolved, and after a few hours of peaceful sleep, Chen Lan’s complexion was much better than the previous day.

Both Shan Shan and Chen Lan extended their warm invitations. As such, Sisi found it hard to decline. The three of them agreed to spend the weekend outing and shopping together.

Seeing the three won joyfully engaged in a conversation, Ye You felt a little bit left out and grieved.

After finishing breakfast, both Chen Lan and Shan Shan went to work.

Before leaving, Shan Shan particularly asked Sisi to take good rest in her room, probably because she was afraid that Sisi might feel hesitant to sleep in Chen Lan’s room since they weren’t that familiar with each other.

When the house beca silent, Sisi finally let out a big yawn.

Seeing her yawn, Ye You showed concern and said, "You must be really tired, you should take so rest."

She had taken a train ride for more than ten hours, didn’t rest at all after coming here, and didn’t sleep much during the night. Even Ye You felt tired, let alone Sisi.

Sisi knew better than to push her own physical limitations, and nodded, holding Ye You as she headed to Shan Shan’s room. She lay down on Shan Shan’s pale pink bed.

As Ye You laid beside Sisi, his eyes flashed a mont before he leaned in to give her a gentle kiss on the lips, sighing, "Finally, we can be alone."

Sisi found it a bit amusing, and asked, "Weren’t we always together?"

"It’s not the sa," Ye You imdiately responded.

Whenever Sisi was with the other two won, they were always laughing and chatting, making Ye You feel like an invisible being.

However, being a bit jealous was sothing Ye You would never admit to Sisi.

Sisi thought for a mont, perhaps she had indeed been neglecting Ye You throughout the day and night. So she put her arm around him and said, "Don’t overthink, they are different from you."

Ye You lifted his head to look at Sisi, the purplish glow in his eyes shimred brightly as he asked in a serious tone, "How am I different?"

Sisi bit her lip lightly and whispered, "They are friends, it’s a friendly relationship."

"What about ?" Ye You’s eyes were shining even brighter, vigilantly watching Sisi.
