Chapter 272: Chapter 272: The Long-Lost Friend_1

Qin Sisi pulled out her phone to start searching for a train ticket to N City and was about to purchase it when Ye You ca up and suggested, "N City is pretty far. It might be exhausting to take a train. How about we fly instead?"

Qin Sisi lifted her gaze to et Ye You’s, blinked her eyes in response and said, "The security checks on planes are strict, I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to bring you along."

"Is it very troubleso?" Ye You asked, not too familiar with the boarding process of flights.

Qin Sisi pondered for a mont and said, "I am not entirely sure. Let

check."

She did a quick online search on the requirents for bringing pets on a plane, then read it together with Ye You.

As expected, it was not just sowhat troubleso, but rather very, very troubleso.

Qin Sisi let out a sigh and said, "Let’s forget it, let’s take the train instead. All this hassle might end up taking even more ti than by train."

Looking at the long list of items and requirents, Ye You too felt sowhat helpless, and ultimately gave up on the idea of flying.

So, Qin Sisi proceeded to purchase the earliest available train ticket using her phone. The departure ti was four o’clock the following morning.

After making a quick calculation in her head, Qin Sisi properly sorted out her upcoming tasks.

Packing her belongings, eating dinner, practicing magic for two hours, getting so rest before getting up at two in the morning to head to the train station.

After discussing the schedule with Ye You and hearing no objections, they reached a complete agreent.

And so, she began following through with her planned schedule.

At two in the morning, the alarm that Qin Sisi had set up in advance on her phone woke both her and Ye You.

After washing her face and changing her clothes, Qin Sisi picked up a black backpack and placed Ye You inside it. She reminded him to use his magic to conceal his body temperature, so he would not be detected by the train station’s scanners.

Ye You had already tucked all other belongings into his portable space, so Qin Sisi didn’t need to carry any heavy luggage.

The world outside was shrouded in silence. The round moon, bright and brilliant in the sky like a white jade plate, showered its luminous beauty onto the earth.

Summoning the Wings of the Rainbow, Ye You perched on her shoulder, enveloping them in an invisible bubble.

Qin Sisi quietly channeled the magic within her, expertly controlling the Wings of Rainbow, taking flight towards the train station.

Having previously taken trains a few tis, they were experienced. Ye You hid silently in the backpack, using his magic to encapsulate his body to ensure his body heat didn’t escape. Thus, they had a smooth sail through the security checks.

Then, it was ti for a dozen-hour train journey ahead.

Indeed, being confined within a large enclosed box for well over a dozen hours was quite an uncomfortable experience.

When feeding Ye You, Qin Sisi would sneak food into the backpack when most passengers were asleep during the deep night.

By the ti the train finally arrived in N City, both Qin Sisi and Ye You let out a sigh of relief.

S City was deep into its freezing winter, whereas N City felt warm like spring.

So, the first thing to do upon getting off the train was to change clothes.

First, she went to the restrooms to put on lighter clothes, then she walked out of the train station, backpack in hand.

Leaving the train station, Qin Sisi flagged down a taxi on the roadside. She took out her phone and read out the address sent by Chen Lan to the driver.

The driver comnted that the location was a bit far, hence, the fare would be slightly expensive.

Qin Sisi nodded in acceptance, which satisfied the driver enough to start the car.

Qin Sisi leaned back in the rear seat, her black backpack by her side.

After the long journey, the last thing she wanted to do was find her way around or wait for a bus. Despite not being rich, she could still afford a taxi ride.

An hour later, the taxi stopped in front of a residential complex.

After paying the driver, Qin Sisi walked into the complex with her backpack, finding Lin Shan’s and Chen Lan’s apartnt based on the address on her phone.

It didn’t take long. The residential complex wasn’t very large, and she quickly found the building they lived in.

There was a security door at the entrance of the building, and Qin Sisi called Lin Shan.

"Hello, Sisi," Lin Shan answered on the other end of the line in her crisp voice.

"Shan Shan, I’m here at the entrance of your apartnt building," Qin Sisi answered softly, her voice reflecting her fatigue that she was even aware of.

Lin Shan’s surprise ca across clearly in her response, "At the entrance? My God! That was quick! I’m coming down imdiately."

After she spoke, Lin Shan quickly ended the call.

Qin Sisi leaned against a wall not too far away from the security door. It didn’t make sense for her to feel so tired just from sitting on a train, but she was.

Soon, the security door clicked open, and out rushed Lin Shan, clad in a long black overcoat.

Qin Sisi turned around to see the familiar face. A small smile slowly spread over her face.

Lin Shan paused for a mont, a relieved smile spreading across her face as well. She quickly closed the distance and gave Qin Sisi a light hug.

That familiar feeling returned between the two of them. It was as if they hadn’t been separated by mountains and rivers of bloody turmoil.

The urgency in the call from the previous day, which she had mistaken for longing, had caused Qin Sisi a sense of disappointnt.

Now, however, they were in each other’s presence again and their bond as close friends felt as intact as ever. Qin Sisi felt a warm sensation spread within her and her unhappiness slowly faded away.

"Did you perhaps fly here?" Lin Shan playfully asked. She had once seen Qin Sisi in full flight, sailing across the infinite night sky with her gigantic, colourful wings spread behind her.

That magical and fantastical sight was sothing Lin Shan would never forget for the rest of her life.

Qin Sisi shook her head and playfully responded, "That’s a few thousand kilotres, do you want

to kill myself from exhaustion?"

Suddenly Qin Sisi grew worried and asked Lin Shan, "You didn’t tell Chen Lan about my abilities, did you?"

The flight of the Wings of the Rainbow, the enigma that is Ye You... These were so of Qin Sisi’s biggest secrets. She confided in Lin Shan as a true friend, hence she revealed these secrets to her at crucial monts.

However, she didn’t want too many people to know her secrets, nor did she hope for Lin Shan to gossip about her secrets with others.

To her relief, Lin Shan imdiately denied, "No, of course not. I only told her about your special abilities."

Qin Sisi breathed out in relief, saying, "That’s good."

Lin Shan expressed her indignation, "Don’t underestimate . I know my priorities."

Qin Sisi laughed and cheerfully replied, "Yes, yes, yes, my Shan Shan is all grown up."

Lin Shan indignantly responded, "What are you saying? I am a year older than you. Call

’big sister’." Then, trying to pinch Qin Sisi’s ear mischievously.

Qin Sisi swiftly dodged the clumsy attempt, and the two girls giggled and joked around for a while before they finally walked away arm in arm towards the apartnt.

Seeing Lin Shan in a good mood, showing so smiles, Qin Sisi was secretly happy for her friend.

Indeed, moving from S City to N City seed to be the right decision. Getting away from the place where she endured heartbreak, Lin Shan appeared to be slowly on the path to recovery.
