Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Unfulfilled Wishes_1

When Yuan Lishu looked up to see Qin Sisi looking down at her, her once gentle eyes suddenly filled with anger and resentnt. She gritted her teeth and spat, "So it’s you!"

Qin Sisi responded lightly, "Indeed, it’s ."

Yuan Lishu seed intent on standing up and attacking Qin Sisi, but when she moved, she realized she was tightly bound by a dazzling golden rope.

Enraged and irritated, Yuan Lishu demanded, "Release

at once!"

Seeing Yuan Lishu still so defiant despite being bound, and rembering how she almost devoured Ning Yue’s soul and once killed a sanitation worker, any sympathy Qin Sisi had for her quickly faded. She was determined to deflate her vigor.

Thus, Qin Sisi retorted calmly, "Why should I?"

Yuan Lishu’s rage was at its peak, but she was powerless, her beautiful eyes nearly spouting fire.

Qin Sisi, on the other hand, was the picture of calm, leisurely sipping a cup of lukewarm water.

Fuming with anger, Yuan Lishu asked resentfully, "Who exactly are you, and why are you against ?"

Qin Sisi raised an eyebrow and said, "You nearly swallowed my sister’s soul. Why shouldn’t I be against you?"

Thanks to Ning Hao’s assistance, and Ning Yue willingly giving her Soul Power to Qin Sisi, Qin Sisi viewed Ning Yue as her sister.

Realizing all this was for that little girl, Yuan Lishu felt sowhat relieved. But then, a sudden thought struck her and she asked in shock, "Isn’t that little girl a ghost?"

Qin Sisi simply nodded, replying firmly, "What of it? Whether she’s human or a ghost, she’s still my sister."

Yuan Lishu stared at Qin Sisi in surprise for a mont, finally asking hesitantly, "Are you a Mage?"

Only Mages possessed the ability to see ghosts and use specific potions or Secret Techniques to temporarily restore a ghost to human form.

Qin Sisi paused slightly, then replied, "You could say that."

Inside, Yuan Lishu grew uneasy––she was a ghost and Qin Sisi a Mage. They were like fire and water, inherent adversaries.

With this thought, her voice softened a little, and she timidly asked, "Why have you captured ? What is your purpose?"

Seeing Yuan Lishu’s softened stance, and considering she still needed to negotiate for Soul Power later, Qin Sisi also softened her tone a tad, saying, "Of course I have a reason. Promise not to act recklessly, and I’ll untie you. We can discuss things calmly."

Yuan Lishu caught on to Qin Sisi’s softened stance and was puzzled. She had no objections to Qin Sisi’s proposition.

So Yuan Lishu nodded her agreent, saying, "Alright, I agree."

Qin Sisi signalled to Ye You, who understood imdiately. With a flick of his claw, the Vajra Bundling Spirit Rope, sensing its master’s call, released Yuan Lishu imdiately, flew into Ye You’s hand, and then disappeared.

Yuan Lishu sat there dumbfounded, staring at the spot where the Spirit rope had vanished and the mysterious black cat, a trace of fear rising in her heart.

Qin Sisi sat at one end of the couch, gesturing to the other end, and said to Yuan Lishu, "Sit."

Yuan Lishu moved her limbs, stiff and numb from being bound, saw her bald shoulder, thought about the arm Qin Sisi had destroyed, and a flash of hatred passed through her eyes.

But she quickly masked her dissatisfaction, sat at the other end of the couch, her beautiful eyes curiously fixed on Qin Sisi.

With so lingering doubts about Yuan Lishu, Qin Sisi wished to probe deeper. So she asked, "Was it you who killed that female sanitation worker?"

Yuan Lishu hesitated for a second, and replied calmly, "Yes."

Qin Sisi couldn’t help but to frown. Yuan Lishu’s indifferent attitude made it seem like a life didn’t amount to much in her eyes.

Then Qin Sisi asked, "Did she enter the restroom on her own?"

Yuan Lishu shook her head and replied, "No, Brother Hei Shan brought her in, and then I devoured her soul as he had taught ."

Understanding dawned on Qin Sisi –– she had suspected that Yuan Lishu, a year-old ghost, couldn’t possibly have such abilities. Evidently, behind her was a particularly powerful evil spirit that guided and assisted her.

Thinking about the evil spirit behind Yuan Lishu, Qin Sisi fell into a slight shock, and quickly asked, "Who exactly is this Brother Hei Shan?"

Yuan Lishu sneered, "Brother Hei Shan isn’t human, he’s a ghost, a really powerful ghost. He’s killed nine Mages in the past. I suggest you better release

fast, or my Brother Hei Shan won’t let you off."

Hei Shan had once told Yuan Lishu that Mages were focused on self-preservation too, so she tried to intimidate Qin Sisi. Perhaps if scared enough, she’d let her go.

However, Qin Sisi simply responded with a chilly gaze, "Impossible. Now that I’ve captured you, I won’t let you go."

Though her voice was fearless, in truth, Qin Sisi was a bit nervous. If everything Yuan Lishu had said was true, then Hei Shan, who had killed nine mages, was incredibly formidable.

Qin Sisi glanced at Ye You. She wouldn’t be able to handle Hei Shan, who had defeated her purely by chance. She wondered if Ye You could.

Yuan Lishu, having been denied her request, panicked and shouted furiously, "What do you want from

then?"

Qin Sisi gave Yuan Lishu a cold look and said lightly, "I need your Soul Power."

Yuan Lishu staggered for a mont, then imdiately replied firmly, "Impossible. If I give you my Soul Power, wouldn’t I vanish from this world forever? Why should I?"

The fact that Yuan Lishu would refuse was not surprising to Qin Sisi. After a mont’s pause, she said, "I can help you fulfill your unachieved wishes from when you were alive."

Upon hearing Qin Sisi’s words, Yuan Lishu broke into a fit of laughter; tears of mirth almost streaming down her face. "Absolute nonsense! Satisfy my wishes? Can you regrow the arm I lost? Can you bring

back to life?" she said through chuckles.

Qin Sisi was speechless. She was indeed incapable of doing either of those things.

Seeing Qin Sisi silent, Yuan Lishu’s expression turned even more disdainful. She walked forward a couple of steps, a mocking smile on her lips, and deliberately asked slowly, "My wish is to not have to die. Can you fulfill that?"

Qin Sisi shook her head. She had no ability to raise the dead. Neither could Ye You. She was incapable of granting Yuan Lishu her wish.
