Chapter 194: Chapter 194: Small Progress in Fire Magic_1
Qin Sisi and Ning Hao each returned ho, and after a brief rest, Ning Hao went to work.
Qin Sisi first washed, then carried Ye You to bed, preparing to sleep.
But Ye You wiggled out of her embrace and burrowed into the bottom of the blanket, pinning Qin Sisi’s feet.
A faint tickling sensation ca over her, and Qin Sisi couldn’t help but feel a shiver in her heart, asking softly, "What are you doing?"
"Don’t move." Ye You’s brief words ca from under the blanket, sounding sowhat muffled.
Qin Sisi lay quietly in bed, guessing Ye You’s intentions.
She had forgotten to wear her warm windbreaker when going out today and had been out in the winter night for several hours, it really had been cold. Worried that she would fall ill again, Ye You injected her soles with a warming current of Fire magic, helping her dispel the chill from her body.
Half an hour later, Ye You crawled out from under the blanket and walked up to Qin Sisi.
Qin Sisi reached out and touched his back, feeling a bit damp - he must have been sweating.
Touching him with affection, she said, "You shouldn’t have. I’m not that frail."
"What if?" Ye You whispered back, planting a kiss on Qin Sisi’s forehead and softly said, "All right, sleep."
Qin Sisi blinked, taking a glimpse at the gradually brightening sky outside the curtain, it was already dawn. "Goodnight, my Xiao Hei."
The next day, it was already past noon when Qin Sisi finally opened her eyes. After washing up, she went to the kitchen to prepare lunch and first worshipped the Five Visceral Temple with Ye You.
After filling her stomach, Qin Sisi started urging Ye You to help her practice the Fireball Technique of Fire magic.
Ye You set up barriers, arranged wooden stakes, instructed Qin Sisi a few tis, then retreated to the edge of the barrier to watch Qin Sisi practice.
Qin Sisi was standing three ters away from the wooden stake, she held her breath, concentrated, drew on the magical power within her, chanted the spell in her mind, and thrust out her right palm.
Her stance looked pretty good, but there was no sign of a fireball.
Qin Sisi gritted her teeth, unfazed, reminding herself of the countless failures she had previously experienced before finally mastering the Fire Ignition Skill.
So, Qin Sisi rallied her spirit, repeatedly performing the moves and chant of the Fireball Technique, fighting and losing, but continuing to fight.
Ye You sat by her side, his eyes tracing the thin, resilient figure, imprinting its image in his heart.
Although she hadn’t succeeded in casting a fireball, Qin Sisi gradually started to feel so heat in the ridians from her arm to her palm.
This small sign of progress excited Qin Sisi, and she began to practice even more vigorously, but there was no further improvent.
Five hours later, just as Qin Sisi thought she would once again fail completely, a small fireball suddenly soared out from her pushing palm with a flash of red light.
Qin Sisi let out an excited scream, but before her shout had ceased, the small fireball quickly extinguished, disappearing into thin air.
Despite her enormous gap from the small goal Ye You set for her, Qin Sisi was still excited. She ran to Ye You, shaking his two claws, and exclaid, "I just released a fireball, did you see it?"
Ye You nodded and said, "Yes, I saw it. The progress is good, but..."
Qin Sisi interrupted, saying, "But we still need to continue working hard, right?"
Ye You silently laughed, ruffling Qin Sisi’s hair with a look of affectionate pity.
Seeing her montum, Qin Sisi raced back to the center of the barrier to continue practicing, but after another half hour, the lucky little fireball did not appear again.
Just as Qin Sisi was getting a bit upset, Ye You interrupted her practice, the reason being the sa as always - the path of developnt must be gradual and steady.
Indeed, Qin Sisi was also starting to feel a bit tired. After a short rest, she went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
After spending the whole afternoon training hard, Qin Sisi was both tired and hungry and started eating heartily, completely unaware of how much she had eaten.
Ye You looked at her with a smile, saying with satisfaction, "That’s the way, the more you eat the healthier your body will be, and the more energy you will have to practice magic."
Qin Sisi choked, looking at the nearly empty left-over dishes in front of her, she said a bit sheepishly, "Are you full? I could cook so more if you want."
Actually planning to head to the kitchen, Ye You quickly stopped her, "No, no, I’ve already eaten enough. Since I didn’t exercise too much today, I can’t eat too much."
"Seriously?" Qin Sisi stared at Ye You suspiciously.
Ye You looked back unflinchingly, firmly saying, "Absolutely."
Looking at Ye You’s half-joking, half-serious expression, Qin Sisi couldn’t help but laugh, "In that case, I’ll do the dishes."
"Ok." Ye You stepped down from the dining table, hopped onto the sofa, and closed his eyes.
To Qin Sisi it just seed like he was relaxing, but Ye You’s thoughts had already flown back to the Demon Sacred Realm, making countless conjectures about the situation in the Demon Sacred Realm.
After cleaning up the kitchen, Qin Sisi wanted to practice the Fireball Technique so more, but Ye You stopped her.
Ye You led Qin Sisi to sit on the sofa, telling her that theory and practice should go hand in hand, and explained so theoretical knowledge about magic to her, including the different types of magic, major skills and characteristics, and the levels of magic along with corresponding colors of the Magic Source.
Qin Sisi was all ears, it felt a bit like listening to a fairy tale when she was a child. Without much effort, she rembered all the magic theory that Ye You had lectured on.
Upon hearing that there were nine total magic levels, Qin Sisi curiously asked, "So what level are you?"
Ye You paused before answering, "I’m a Magic Star."
After thinking for a mont, Qin Sisi said, "Magic Star, that’s the fourth level."
"Yes." Ye You’s reply was faint.
Astonished, Qin Sisi thought that if the fourth level was so powerful, what would a ninth level Magic Saint be like? Would they have the power to destroy the world?
However, thinking of her own current status as a first level magic apprentice, Qin Sisi felt like she was thinking too much. She decided to focus on being a good first-year student.
At ten o’clock in the night, as agreed, Ning Hao drove to the bottom of Qin Sisi’s apartnt building and called to let her know he was there.
Qin Sisi gathered her things and carried Ye You down the building. This ti she made sure to wear the temperature regulating windbreaker.
It was not too late, and there were still occasional vehicles on the road. Ning Hao seed a bit more stable than yesterday and didn’t drive too fast.
An hour later, they reached the parking lot from yesterday.
There were still a few cars parked in the lot, but the office building inside was completely dark. Under the faint glow of the street lights, the silhouette of the building was blurry and dim.
