Chapter 19: Chapter 19 Spiritual Conversation_1
"Oh." Qin Sisi was still confused, her eyes fixed on Ye You, "How co you... can talk now?"
Ye You explained with a touch of helplessness, "We signed a Blood Covenant last night and now we can talk via telepathy."
Qin Sisi ntally digested this, and quickly understood, "Does this an I can hear your voice from now on?"
"Yes, but my Mana is very weak now, so I can’t say much."
"Oh, I see." Qin Sisi nodded thoughtfully, staring blankly at the black cat in front of her.
Ye You was a bit uneasy under her staring, and questioned her, "Qin Sisi, you’re not regretting this, are you?"
"What?" Perhaps because she didn’t sleep well last night, Qin Sisi didn’t react imdiately.
Ye You felt a bit heavy inside, but tried to keep his tone light, "Well... even if you do regret it, there’s no turning back now. After a Blood Covenant is made, it can’t be broken."
Qin Sisi understood what Ye You was getting at, she straightened her back and seriously said, "Please stop saying that. I have said that I trust you and am willing to help you. Since I made this choice, I will never regret it."
Qin Sisi’s eyes were determined, with a hint of stubbornness lurking around her tightly closed lips. As Ye You looked up at her, she held his gaze without flinching.
After a while, Ye You chuckled, "It seems that soone threatened to throw
out of the window yesterday."
Qin Sisi hadn’t expected Ye You to bring that up, scratching her head awkwardly, she mumbled, "I... That was a misunderstanding, wasn’t it?"
Ye You gazed at Qin Sisi, gently saying, "Sisi, I hope there are no more misunderstandings between us." His eyes twinkled like a gem in the dark night, or a mysterious clear spring.
Qin Sisi was montarily dazed, then quickly lowered her head, but almost imdiately she raised it again, trying to sound calm, "Okay, that would be best. Don’t worry, I will do my best to help you collect ghosts."
An inward frown creased Ye You’s brow. That was not what he ant.
Before Ye You could reply, Qin Sisi continued, "Well... you rest at ho, I’m off to work."
As she spoke, Qin Sisi stood up hastily, not daring to look into Ye You’s purple eyes again.
Just as Qin Sisi was heading to the bathroom to freshen up and avoid Ye You’s gaze, his next words stopped her in her tracks, it took her a while to regain her composure.
Qin Sisi turned back to look at Ye You, sowhat unable to believe her own ears, "What did you just say?"
Ye You patiently repeated his previous statent, "Resign from the company in the morning, find a good house with a broker in the afternoon, and prepare to move."
Qin Sisi couldn’t stay calm any longer, she hastily asked, "Why? I have a stable job, why should I resign? I live comfortably, why should I move?"
Ye You cast a glance at her, his voice sinking, "Do you really like this current job and this house?"
Qin Sisi’s expression dimd, she managed a bitter smile, "With my current circumstances, can I afford to talk about likes and dislikes? Not to hide from you, but I’m very poor. If I resign, not to ntion living in a good house, I wouldn’t be able to afford even this house. It’s likely that we would end up starving on the streets."
Even though she was exaggerating a bit, her words were true. In Qin Sisi’s mind, Ye You was clueless about the expenses of a household. No work, no money. Where would the funds co from for food and clothing, housing and transportation?
Understanding Qin Sisi’s worries, Ye You beca calm, speaking plainly, "As you said earlier, you’re going to help
collect ghosts. With daily work, when will you have ti for this important task?"
Qin Sisi was left speechless, his words sounded totally off. Wasn’t working the priority?
Ye You continued, "This house is too small and the environnt isn’t good either. It’s uncomfortable to live in."
Unsatisfied, Qin Sisi gave him a sidelong glance and muttered, "You think you’re a prince or sothing!"
Ye You paused for a mont, his tone nonchalant, "I will figure out the money issue. Today, all you need to do is resign and find a new house."
Qin Sisi thought for a mont, then said, "Resigning isn’t difficult, but finding a house takes ti. Even if I find a suitable house, I need to pay a deposit. To be honest with you, I’m not only broke now, but I also owe my friend twenty thousand dollars! So, I’m sorry, I can’t do these two things for now. Unless, you can help
earn a lot of money quickly."
At this point, Qin Sisi suddenly wondered if Ye You’s Magic could conjure money. However, she quickly laughed at her own idea. If there were magic that could generate money in the world, it would have been in chaos long ago.
Qin Sisi sighed helplessly. She had only graduated a year ago. She had been frugal, but her mother’s hospitalization costs had wiped out her limited savings. In desperation, she borrowed twenty thousand dollars from Lin Shan, which she hadn’t been able to repay yet. Thinking of this, Sisi sighed, the feeling of owing money was really uncomfortable.
Feeling depressed, Qin Sisi didn’t want to argue with Ye You anymore and began to pack up to go to work. Before leaving, she hesitated and said, "In the future, better not to pick
up from work again, just in case soone finds out you’re unusual, it might be risky."
Ye You looked at Qin Sisi but said nothing.
With her backpack on, Sisi left. As she was going downstairs, she felt an unexpected pang of reluctance.
Ye You watched Sisi leave, his eyes deep and thoughtful. After sitting still for a while, he jumped onto the windowsill and jumped out the window.
Throughout the day, Qin Sisi felt in a daze, with the image of the handso man in the mirror the night before continually appearing in her mind. She silently cursed herself to stop fantasizing about him, forcefully pushing the image out of her mind, but before long, it would appear again silently.
Qin Sisi sighed inwardly, focusing her attention on the work at hand. A new leader had co in, she couldn’t afford to make a mistake on the first day.
The new departnt manager was nad Yu Ping, a woman in her forties with penetrating speech and decisive deanor. Despite the traces of years on her face, she had an elegant grace to her slender figure.
Qin Sisi had a good impression of Yu Ping, but Lin Shan was concerningly said, "She’s near nopause, I just hope she’s not an emotionally unstable female demon."
Qin Sisi, helplessly amused, responded, "Watch your words, be careful not to jinx it."
Lin Shan playfully covered her mouth, patting her own heart as if she was scared.
In the evening, when Qin Sisi walked out of the office building, she didn’t see Xiao Hei as expected. She sighed softly - even though it was her own request, she couldn’t help feeling a little lost when it ca to pass.
