Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Dood Beauty_1
Xia Ruoyan stared blankly at the floating Spirit Conversion Bottle suspended in mid-air, vaguely feeling its demonic allure. She knew her ti was finite.
Looking at Xia Ruoyan’s shapely figure masked by an unsightly countenance, Qin Sisi felt a pang of pity. She cautiously spoke, "Xia Ruoyan, I did not lie to you. You were truly attractive before, be sure to value yourself more the next ti around."
Her teary eyes sparkled as Xia Ruoyan suddenly asked, "Are you collecting Soul Power?"
Taken aback, Qin Sisi responded in a deep voice, "Yes."
Xia Ruoyan quickly said, "There is a ghost, a little boy, right below a manhole across this building."
Startled yet excited, Qin Sisi asked, "Are you serious? If so, why did you not consu his soul?"
Xia Ruoyan replied, "I only needed enough Spiritual Power for revenge. There was no need to beco too powerful. Besides, I couldn’t bring myself to harm a boy no older than five or six years old. I only consud the souls of two adult ghosts."
Qin Sisi felt a wave of affection and earnestly told her, "Thank you, and good luck."
No sooner had Qin Sisi finished speaking than Xia Ruoyan’s figure blurred, gradually transforming into a misty white cloud, lightly drifting into the Spirit Conversion Bottle.
As soon as the fog was completely engulfed, Ye You swung a paw and retracted the bottle, a determined gleam flashing across his eyes.
Ning Hao watched with awe, his gaze towards Qin Sisi and Ye You was filled with shock and surprise.
Fearing he might be struggling to take it all in, Qin Sisi asked him with concern, "Are you alright?"
Regaining his composure, Ning Hao paused before questioning Qin Sisi, "What did you do with Xia Ruoyan’s ghost?"
The light in Qin Sisi’s eyes flickered briefly before admitting, "I have taken her under control. I am only borrowing her soul power temporarily, but when the ti cos, I will help her reincarnate, fulfilling my promise to her."
Ning Hao shook his head in disbelief, "Qin Sisi, do you think you’re King Yama, controlling the reincarnation of souls?"
Qin Sisi corrected him earnestly, "I’m certainly not King Yama. I don’t control reincarnation. I rely made so minor alterations to her destiny."
"But..." Ning Hao was struggling to accept Qin Sisi’s shocking ability. He had initially thought she could rely see ghosts and had a tad of minor magic skills.
Unable to explain too much, Qin Sisi ambiguously muttered, "Ning Hao, this world is far more mystical and unpredictable than you could ever envision. My ability isn’t as extraordinary as you presu. There are even more incredibly magical existences out there."
Ning Hao wore a complicated expression. If this was not considered powerful, he wondered what could be? Could one be considered powerful only when they could control everyone’s life or death at will?
After a few monts of silence, Ning Hao inquired again, "You said Xia Ruoyan will be punished, but not now. I want to know when?"
After pondering for a while, Qin Sisi vaguely replied, "The deeds of one’s past life affect their current situation, and the outcos of this life germinate from the actions of this life. If the sins of this life remain unpunished, the blessings of the next life automatically tend to compensate."
Ning Hao was still confused, "But, you promised her to beco a remarkable beauty from a well-off family."
Qin Sisi frowned and responded, "Does being a rich beauty necessarily guarantee happiness?"
Ning Hao was taken aback, seeming to grasp sothing.
Qin Sisi sighed and said, "I can fulfill her desire for beauty and wealth, but her life depends on her own decisions. However, as her blessings have been reduced, beauty could likely bring misfortune despite it all."
"However..." Qin Sisi continued thoughtfully, "She chose not to prey on the young boy’s ghost, implying a kind heart. Maybe she will encounter so lucky turn of events."
Only then did Ning Hao truly comprehend Qin Sisi’s aning. Reincarnation was not the end of the story, but the start of a new Chapter.
Ning Hao heaved a deep sigh, followed by a faint bitter smile, "You’ve already helped her. Now, could you help ? How do I close this case?"
Qin Sisi blinked and said, "The beauty salon owners ruined Xia Ruoyan’s face first, and then she took her revenge. If you must pinpoint a culprit, they brought it upon themselves."
Ning Hao, hands on his hips helplessly, said, "I get the rationale, but if I report this to my superiors, they’ll likely fire ."
Qin Sisi shrugged, "I’m out of options then. I can’t tell the truth, nor can I lie. It’s a tough spot!"
While Qin Sisi was talking to Ning Hao, Ye You had already collected the talisman papers from all first sides. Leisurely, he approached Qin Sisi and gently tugged at her clothes.
Feeling Ye You’s reminder, Qin Sisi checked her phone and said, "It’s getting late, and we’re done here. Let’s go."
Ning Hao nodded and said, "Alright, let’s go back first. I’ll think of sothing later."
Qin Sisi stole a deep look at Ning Hao. She had no idea how he would figure things out, but she wasn’t able to help him any further.
Qin Sisi picked up Ye You and left the building with Ning Hao. As they left, she switched off all the lights. The building was plunged back into the dark.
Ning Hao drove Qin Sisi back to their residential complex and parked the car under her building. He turned towards Qin Sisi and said, "You’ve had a hard day. Go up and rest for a while."
Wearing a smile, Qin Sisi exited the car but instead of walking away, she turned back to Ning Hao and asked, "Ning Hao, are you scared of ?"
"Scared of you?"
Ning Hao was stunned and then laughed, "Now that you ntion it, it is quite frightening."
Despite claiming fear, there was not a single trace of it in his expression. His eyes even held a playful sparkle.
A sense of relief washed over Qin Sisi as she instantly ward towards Ning Hao. She was not averse to her unique abilities nor was she opposed to helping Ye You collect ghosts. However, she wished to be seen with normal eyes by others, not as a monster.
"Goodbye."
Qin Sisi responded crisply as she turned to go into her building. Her swaying ponytail imprinted waves in Ning Hao’s heart.
It was only after Qin Sisi’s figure had long disappeared at the entrance of the building that Ning Hao reluctantly withdrew his gaze, parked his car in the underground garage, and returned ho.
Ti was nearing midnight. Even after an eventful night, Ning Hao was wide awake. He recollected the evening’s happenings and had co to accept Qin Sisi’s explanations entirely.
But the acceptance brought up a heart-wrenching, agonizing mory.
If ghosts truly existed in this world, then what about his father, mother, and Xiao Yue? Were they ghosts or had they also reincarnated?
If they were ghosts, could Qin Sisi find them?
