Chapter 1404: Chapter 1404: Climbing the Snowy Mountain

Standing at the foot of Yuding Snow Mountain, looking up, only to see one ice-capped peak after another standing majestically on the vast land, against the backdrop of the azure sky, imposing and resplendent in silver light.

The snow piled atop the peaks seed like a silver dragon stretching across the horizon, sotis soaring through clouds and mist, white waves rolling, hidden within the thick fog; sotis reflecting the myriad beams of sunlight, dazzling and radiant.

Qin Sisi’s petite body was wrapped in a piece of black fabric, with only a furry head, four legs, and a long tail exposed.

She sat quietly on Ye You’s shoulder, looking up at the beautiful surroundings, and sighed, "This is indeed a fairyland in the human world! It’s just too cold."

Ye You pondered aloud, "I wonder if there would be powerful demonic beasts in such a cold place?"

Qin Sisi thought for a mont and then asked, "This is Yuding Snow Mountain. I rember Midair City also has a Yuding Snow Mountain."

Ye You nodded and explained, "Actually, it’s the sa mountain range. Yuding Snow Mountain spans thousands of miles, running northwest-southeast, with the southeastern tip located within Midair City, ending at the All Souls Forest. However, even though it’s the sa mountain range, the Yuding Snow Mountain within Midair City is nowhere near comparable to this one."

"Hmm." Qin Sisi’s eyes beca solemn too, the difference between the main mountain range and the end point is not unlike the difference between an ant and an elephant, or at least between a cat and a lion.

"So, are there demonic beasts in Midair City’s Yuding Snow Mountain?" Qin Sisi continued to ask.

"There are," Ye You replied, "but the number of demonic beasts in colder regions is much fewer than in warr regions. The magic they use there is mainly Ice Magic. I once went up there and narrowly escaped from so formidable demonic beasts."

Qin Sisi consoled, "Now your magic power is incomparable to what it was before."

Ye You smiled and said, "Indeed, but the snow mountain we face and the demonic beasts on it are many tis more dangerous than those on Midair City’s Yuding Snow Mountain."

Even though they were at the foot of the mountain, as they gazed up at the summit, Ye You had an inkling that it wasn’t as peaceful as it appeared on the surface.

Both he and Qin Sisi were particularly skilled in Ice Magic, but the Life Divine Water of the Extre North Ice Field might be a hard stone to crack.

Qin Sisi could see Ye You’s concern and cautiously asked, "Are you... afraid?"

Ye You’s lips curved slightly, and he lifted Qin Sisi up to his face, softly saying, "I’m just stating the facts, not afraid. The only thing that scares

is losing you."

So, no matter how dangerous or difficult the path ahead, I will charge forward without hesitation.

Qin Sisi gazed deeply at Ye You and whispered, "Thank you."

Ye You ruffled her head and laughed, "Silly."

With that, he tucked Qin Sisi inside his coat, saying with concern, "It’s too cold outside, you better stay in here!"

"Okay." Qin Sisi responded obediently, unwilling to let Ye You’s heartfelt intentions go in vain. She nestled inside Ye You’s coat, only showing her big, round eyes, silently looking ahead.

Ye You took a deep breath, feeling the cold air chill his lungs. He looked up at the snowy summit and began his ascent on foot.

The wind speed here was too great for flying. Ye You wasn’t sure if the "Shadowless" flying device could adapt to such high winds and low temperatures. Besides, hiding inside the flying device would dull their perception of external dangers, so after weighing the options, Ye You decided to proceed on foot.

He wore clothes designed to maintain a constant temperature, but in such an extrely cold environnt, the clothing’s warmth seed insufficient. To keep warm, Ye You channeled a trace of Fire Attribute Magic Power within his body.

His Ziwei Heaven Fire, after all, was a Divine Fire. Coupled with the Fire Spirit Pearl, maintaining warmth in the cold was not a difficult task.

Initially, the slope was gentle, and the snow on the slope was shallow, making it relatively easy to walk on.

Ye You continued along the slope. As the elevation increased, the slope’s gradient began to steepen, and the snow on the ground grew deeper, making the trek much more challenging.

At the sa ti, there was the threat of demonic beasts.

At first, they only encountered so small demonic beasts, with long features and round bodies that looked quite cute, yet when they raged, they were pretty terrifying.

Fortunately, most small demonic beasts could sense the powerful magical aura coming from Ye You and instinctively avoided them. Of course, there were the occasional "knowing there are tigers in the mountain, yet heading for the mountain" fearless ones, showing unfriendly attitudes towards these two outsiders, Ye You and Qin Sisi.

In the end, most of these "hardcore" bold demonic beasts t the sa fate, perishing under Ye You’s magic skills.

But so swift ones managed to escape. These demonic beasts were small, with white fur, and imdiately burrowed into the snow without a trace when the situation turned unfavorable.

Hurrying on their way, Ye You and Qin Sisi were unwilling to waste ti searching, so they simply ignored them.

Within the bodies of those slain small demonic beasts, they collected a few Ice Attribute Magic Crystal Stones. Ye You wanted to give them all to Qin Sisi, but Qin Sisi insisted they split them evenly, as Ye You had previously given both Magic Crystal Cores from Inkwest City to Qin Sisi and had said that in the future, any good things would be shared equally.

Unable to out-argue Qin Sisi, Ye You had no choice but to also absorb the spiritual power from two of the Magic Crystal Stones.

Theoretically, the stronger the Ice Magic, the better the cold resistance, but these small demonic beasts’ levels were too low for them, so after absorbing these Ice Attribute Magic Crystal Stones, they didn’t feel much change.

At night, Ye You would find a relatively large rock and set up a tent on the leeward side for him and Qin Sisi to rest. The tent had to be protected by a barrier ford with magic power, otherwise, it might be blown away by the strong wind.

After half a month of trekking, the two reached the middle of Yuding Snow Mountain. This appeared to be a distinct dividing line; beyond it lay a blizzard environnt with stronger winds, deeper snow, and snowflakes falling from the sky.

The fierce wind whipped the snowflakes into a chaotic dance. The six-sided snowflakes once praised by poets beca terrifying here, even when just tiny particles, striking the face with stinging pain under the force of the wind.

Ye You tore a piece of fabric from a garnt in the Portable Space and covered his face with it, leaving only his eyes exposed, while his eyebrows and eyelashes quickly accumulated snow particles.

Qin Sisi simply curled up entirely inside Ye You’s coat, as the man and his cat struggled to climb through the blizzard.
