Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385: The 3,000-Year-Old Riddle

The air in this secret chamber was filled with a decaying sll. Qin Sisi pondered for a while and suddenly realized that the sll was emanating from the white-haired old man lying there—it was the scent of death.

When a person is nearing death, the body inevitably emits a decaying sll.

Mu Feng stopped in his tracks, looking at the white-haired old man on the bed and sighed continuously.

Ye You continued walking forward, reached the bedside, and looked down at the white-haired old man.

He was incredibly old, so much so that his true age was indiscernible. He was so thin that he was just skin and bones, his skin had turned brown, and it was dotted with dark brown age spots.

Yet he was still alive; he was still breathing, and his eyes were still open. His mouth was also moving slowly, continuously trembling as if he were trying to say sothing.

He lay motionless on the bed, only occasionally moving his mouth, creating an inexplicable sense of eeriness.

Living for three thousand years was not sothing to be envied.

Mu Xi quietly asked, "Father, is he Ancestor Mu Ze?"

Mu Feng nodded, and with a deep sense of grief, he said to Mu Ting and Mu Xi, "You are all descendants of the Mu family, go and bow to the ancestor."

Mu Ting and Mu Xi obediently went to the bedside and respectfully bowed to the ancestor on the bed.

Ye You glanced at Mu Ze for a mont, then turned to Mu Feng and asked, "Why can’t he die?"

Mu Feng sighed and said, "I don’t know. I believe it’s the punishnt of the Deity, not letting him die, forcing him to watch his descendants and clansn suffer."

Qin Sisi then asked, "Which Deity? Inkwest City?"

Mu Feng nodded, "Yes, there’s only that one Deity here."

Qin Sisi continued to ask, "Why is the Deity punishing Mu Ze? Is it really just because Mu Ze hurt him?"

Mu Feng replied helplessly, "Actually, I’m not very clear about it. It’s been three thousand years, but as far as I know, Ancestor Mu Ze did not intend to harm the Deity; it was just a montary slip."

After a pause, Mu Feng continued, "If you really are experts here to save the Mu Water Clan, I hope when you go to Kurosawa Highland, you can also save Ancestor Mu Ze; his current situation is pure suffering."

Ye You nodded and replied, "Okay, I promise you."

Qin Sisi looked down at the white-haired, ntally absent Mu Ze and whispered to Ye You, "What do you think he’s saying?"

Ye You shook his head and replied, "I don’t know, you could try listening."

Qin Sisi leaped onto the bed, putting her little ear close to Mu Ze’s mouth, and listened carefully to the sounds he made.

After a mont, she raised her head and said helplessly, "No, his voice is too faint, it’s completely inaudible."

Ye You thought for a mont, then raised his palm and released a force of Wood Attribute Magic into Mu Ze’s body, providing so energy to his dry, extrely weak body.

Receiving a bit of energy, Mu Ze indeed regained so strength, and a bit of sound ca from his mouth.

A few minutes later, Qin Sisi’s eyes showed a look of shock as she raised her head and looked at Ye You.

Ye You stood by the bed, imdiately picking up Qin Sisi to place her on his shoulder, then turned to Mu Feng and said, "Let’s head back and let Ancestor Mu Ze rest."

Mu Feng nodded, giving a long, deep look at the unmoving Mu Ze, and sighed helplessly. He led Ye You and the others out of the secret chamber and back to the room above ground.

That day, Mu Ting arranged a very comfortable room for Ye You and Qin Sisi, allowing them to rest well.

At night, when it finally quieted down, Ye You softly asked Qin Sisi, "What was Mu Ze saying? Did you hear it?"

Qin Sisi replied softly, "Yes, I heard it. He kept repeating the sa sentence over and over."

"What sentence?" Ye You was curious. What kind of sentence could soone say repeatedly, incessantly, for three thousand years?

Qin Sisi leaned closer to Ye You and replied quietly, "Brother Xicheng, I’m sorry."

Ye You’s eyes flickered, and he looked at Qin Sisi with surprise.

It turned out Mu Ze had been saying, "Brother Xicheng, I’m sorry."

It’s said that Mu Ze injured Mo Xicheng; was he repenting for his actions?

This sentence also revealed that Mu Ze and Mo Xicheng knew each other and had a deep relationship, so what exactly caused them to beco enemies?

eting Mu Ze didn’t solve the mystery; instead, it only grew more incomprehensible.

It seems the only way to uncover this three-thousand-year-old mystery is to personally visit Kurosawa Highland after healing Mu Feng’s severely damaged Magic Source.

The next day, Qin Sisi began replacing Mu Feng as the Clan Leader to release water sources, taking turns with Mu Ting, Mu Wen, and Mu Chi—one person a day.

Mu Xi didn’t want to do nothing either. Every afternoon, she would voluntarily take over for her brothers for a few hours, letting them rest.

anwhile, Ye You began secluding himself, focusing on practicing Alchemy, preparing to concoct a Perfect Level Jade lting Pill to heal Mu Feng’s severely damaged Magic Source.

Though sowhat declining, the Chief Mansion of the Mu family was actually quite spacious. After a few days, Qin Sisi discovered a dried-up pit in one of the courtyards, speculating that it used to be a small lake.

She deliberately sought confirmation from Mu Xi and found out her speculation was correct.

So she spent a few days using Water Magic to fill the small lake.

When Clan Leader Mu Feng and his three sons and daughter saw the scene, they were stunned. The rippling lake surface, glistening under the sunlight, instantly added beauty and vitality to the rundown Chief Mansion.

Qin Sisi said aloud, "Clan Leader Mu Feng, you know that to improve Water Magic, one must practice often. Diligence can make up for lack of talent, and practice makes perfect. I hope Mu Ting and the others can use this small lake to strengthen their Water Magic practice."

Mu Ting and his siblings all looked at Qin Sisi with gratitude. Since childhood, they primarily practiced Silent Drizzle Magic Skill, frequently using it to release water sources for their clansn.

As for other Water Attribute Magic Skills, they barely understood them during initial learning, hardly mastering them.

Firstly, there was not enough water source for them to practice, and secondly, they were exhausted from taking turns releasing the water source. When they weren’t on duty, they just wanted to rest properly.

With Qin Sisi voluntarily taking on half the task of releasing water sources, every night, she released the water source. On her shifts, the Mu siblings could practice Water Magic in the small lake.
