Chapter 1252: Chapter 1252: The Cruel Gift
Leaving the Heavenly Magic God’s Castle, Qin Sisi, Ye You, and the others rushed back to the army under the starlit sky.
Millions from the Seven Major Families’ alliance surrounded the majestic Wang City of Fengge, leaving no chance for anyone to escape.
Now, they awaited Ye You’s order for the alliance to comnce the siege and expel Tian Xiaozi’s forces from here forever.
Ye You conjured magic wings and flew in midair, gazing deeply at the nearby Wang City of Fengge. This was his ho, the place where he grew up. After so much effort, he had finally returned, bearing unwavering confidence and his most beloved companion.
Qin Sisi summoned the Wings of Rainbow and stood beside Ye You, casting a loving glance at him before looking at the Wang City of Fengge as well. This was her second visit here.
The last ti, she crossed from the Human World through the ti tunnel into this place, with minimal mana, unable to protect herself, panicked, fleeing for her life while holding Ye You, who was then a black cat.
Now, they had returned together once more, with a vast army behind them, ready to overthrow and reshape the land.
Just as Ye You was about to give the order to attack, the gates of Wang City of Fengge suddenly opened. The gates in the east, south, west, and north all opened slowly at the sa ti, as if welcoming the army’s arrival.
Facing the proactively opened four gates, the army hesitated. Should they enter? Could there be an ambush awaiting them inside?
Yun Wang approached Ye You, asking sowhat nervously, "Your Highness, what should we do?"
Ye You raised an eyebrow and replied, "Enter. If he dares to open it, why shouldn’t I dare to enter?"
With that, he flapped his magic wings fiercely and was the first to fly into the Wang City of Fengge through the north gate.
Qin Sisi followed Ye You inside, the Wings of Rainbow tracing a splendid arc through the sky.
With Ye You leading by example, the army of the Seven Major Families no longer hesitated, charging into the Wang City of Fengge under the command of their leaders. The march of millions caused the ground to tremble and the montum to soar.
However, the scene inside the city puzzled them all. They encountered no resistance, as if the magical power within Wang City of Fengge had vanished, but that seed impossible.
The army ascended the tall city walls via the steps, and those with stronger magic power summoned magic wings to fly into the sky for a closer look.
Qin Sisi gazed at the empty Wang City of Fengge, an uneasy feeling rising within her. She looked at Ye You, seeing his lips tightly pressed and a stern expression, seemingly uncertain about the current situation.
At this mont, a sinister voice echoed: "Ye You, my dear nephew, you have finally arrived."
The voice was not particularly loud, yet it resounded throughout every corner of Wang City of Fengge, heard clearly by everyone.
Anger flared in Ye You’s purple eyes. Between him and this person with whom he shared blood ties, there was no familial affection, only deep-seated hatred. How dare he address him this way?
Wang City of Fengge instantly fell silent, as everyone realized that Tian Xiaozi was indeed Ye You’s uncle, marking this a battle of fratricide.
"Tian Xiaozi, show yourself. The blood feud between us must be settled today." Ye You’s voice was resolute, resonating through every corner of Wang City of Fengge.
"My dear nephew, don’t be hasty. I’ve prepared a gift for you to look over first," said Tian Xiaozi, sowhat smugly.
Ye You furrowed his brows, his eyes cautiously surveying the surroundings and listening intently for any suspicious sounds.
Qin Sisi felt a heaviness in her heart; Tian Xiaozi was cunning and ruthless. What thods would he employ against Ye You this ti?
Yun Wang carefully sniffed the air, his expression suddenly tensing up. Just as he was about to speak to Ye You, a grating tallic sound drew everyone’s attention.
Looking up, a giant wheel was slowly rising in the direction of the Royal Palace, eventually securing itself atop the astronomical observatory.
The astronomical observatory, a high tower and the tallest structure in Wang City of Fengge, standing over a thousand ters tall, was used for stargazing at night.
The top of the observatory, which had originally been a narrow and pointed spire, was now crowned with a massive wheel rotating slowly around it.
What shocked everyone was that the great wheel was hung with a dense number of people, their hands bound with sturdy ropes to the wheel. The wheel was seemingly not large enough to accommodate everyone Tian Xiaozi wanted to suspend, with so even hanging from the feet of others.
Ye You focused his gaze, his face changing dramatically. His good eyesight allowed him to recognize, even from afar, that most of those suspended on the wheel were branch mbers of the Jiuxi Royal Family.
Several years ago, an event occurred so suddenly that outsiders knew nothing about it, and even the Jiuxi Royal Family mbers living within Wang City of Fengge were kept in the dark.
It was only a year after Ye You’s return that they understood what had happened back then, but by then it was too late, and they had all beco Tian Xiaozi’s pawns.
In addition to the Jiuxi Royal Family, there were also soldiers who had previously served in Wang City of Fengge. They had once loyally defended Wang City of Fengge, never expecting to et their end here; they were devoted to the Jiuxi Royal Family until the end, only to die at the hands of one with Jiuxi blood.
Thousands of people hung below the wheel, their weakened bodies swaying with its rotation, from eighty-year-olds to young children just a few years old.
Ye You clenched his fists tightly, blue veins bulging. Qin Sisi, flying next to him, could even hear the sound of teeth grinding.
"So, my nephew, are you satisfied with this gift?" Tian Xiaozi’s voice carried a hint of laughter, Ye You’s reaction having been entirely within his expectations.
"Tian Xiaozi, what exactly do you want?" Ye You asked vehently.
A dark shadow swiftly flew from the direction of the Royal Palace, stopping a hundred ters ahead of Ye You. Tian Xiaozi finally appeared, his fra slender, hair gray, clad in a loose black robe, his narrow eyes fixed intently on Ye You.
Qin Sisi stared unblinkingly at him, both clad in black. Ye You would remind one of coldness and determination, while Tian Xiaozi invoked thoughts of cruelty and bloodlust.
Tian Xiaozi was pleased with the anger displayed on Ye You’s face, leisurely saying, "Ye You, how about placing a bet with this gift and the entire Demon Sacred Realm on the line?"
"How do you propose we wager?" Ye You asked coldly.
Tian Xiaozi articulated each word clearly: "A duel between leaders, a fight to the death between the two of us. The winner claims the position of Sage Ruler; the loser must take their own life. Regardless of who wins or loses, both armies must unconditionally recognize the victor as king and not reignite war."
