Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Returning_1
Once ng Jia’s affairs had been sorted, Lin Xiaoyu personally prepared breakfast and invited Qin Sisi to eat together.
During this, Qin Sisi inford Lin Xiaoyu that, if there was nothing else, she intended to take the train back to S City today.
Lin Xiaoyu’s gaze dimd slightly, saying, "G City also has many interesting places, why don’t you stay a few more days before leaving?"
Qin Sisi shook her head gently, earnestly declining: "No, I have things to attend to back ho."
At present, the most important thing in her heart was naturally helping Ye You to locate and collect ghosts. Indeed, Qin Sisi was not in the mood for fun and leisure; in addition, living in a house with two n, was inevitably inconvenient in many aspects.
Lin Xiaoyu said nothing more and, after finishing their al, he opened his laptop to help Qin Sisi purchase a high-speed train ticket back to S City online. As the first and second class tickets for that day’s train had sold out, Lin Xiaoyu purchased a business class ticket instead.
The price of the business class ticket was rather high, which made Qin Sisi feel uncomfortable. She urged Lin Xiaoyu to refund the high-speed train ticket and switch it to the regular train ticket.
Lin Xiaoyu insisted, saying, "You’ve done us such a huge favor. It’s just a way to repay you. Don’t be shy."
Looking at Lin Xiaoyu’s sincere expression, Qin Sisi hesitantly remarked, "Actually, I’m also helping myself."
Lin Xiaoyu responded with a broad smile, "Whether you did it intentionally or just incidentally, it makes no difference. To , you remain a friend worth thanking."
Seeing Lin Xiaoyu’s firm attitude, Qin Sisi did not argue over the minutiae and graciously accepted his gesture of thanks.
The high-speed rail ticket was for the afternoon; after lunch and a brief tidy up, Lin Xiaoyu hailed a cab to take Qin Sisi to the train station.
As the ti to part approached, Qin Sisi remarked cheerfully, "Now that Chen Nuo’s issue has been resolved, you should be ready to go on a blind date."
Lin Xiaoyu gave a shy smile, following Qin Sisi’s lead, "Indeed, I’m not getting any younger so it’s ti I considered settling down."
Qin Sisi smiled slightly, "I wish you luck. Don’t forget to send
an invitation to your wedding."
Observing Qin Sisi’s radiant smile, Lin Xiaoyu was montarily lost for words. But he quickly recovered, heartily responding, "Sure thing. You must also notify
when you and your boyfriend officially beco a couple."
Boyfriend? Ye You?
Qin Sisi’s gaze unconsciously drifted toward her bag. Will there ever be such a day? Perhaps, it would take a long ti.
Qin Sisi sighed unconsciously, collected her thoughts, and gave Lin Xiaoyu a smiling nod, "Okay!"
After chatting a while, the train station’s loudspeaker made an announcent reminding passengers to check their tickets as a train would be departing soon. Qin Sisi checked her ticket and confird it was ti for her high-speed train.
Qin Sisi glanced towards the ticket check gate and turned to Lin Xiaoyu, "Well, I have to go now. Goodbye."
Lin Xiaoyu’s eyes darkened, he quietly responded, "Goodbye."
Qin Sisi waved her hand, turning and heading towards the ticket inspection gate, carrying the black backpack containing Ye You.
A vague sense of lancholy filled Lin Xiaoyu’s heart. Qin Sisi’s silhouette getting smaller and smaller until it disappeared. He lifted his gaze to the open sky where the sun was at its peak, dazzlingly brilliant. A tinge of lancholy masked his features, but a faint smile still danced around his lips.
Goodbye, Sisi, I wish you happiness.
Indeed, the high-speed train was much more comfortable than a regular train and, most importantly, a lot faster. After just three or four hours, the train arrived at S City.
Qin Sisi stepped off the train and left the station with her backpack. The sky was just turning to dusk. Lifting her gaze to the familiar surroundings under the setting sun, she let out a long sigh of relief. Reflecting on the nearly half a month she had been away, it felt like a long dream.
As it was getting late, Qin Sisi hailed a taxi back to her residential complex.
The taxi stopped at the entrance of the complex. Qin Sisi paid the fare, pulled her backpack down from the cab and started walking towards her apartnt.
The environnt within the complex was noticeably quieter than the street outside. As Qin Sisi was leisurely strolling, she heard a rustling noise. Before she could react, several cats had pounced in front of her, owing competitively.
Qin Sisi was initially taken aback but when she perceived the situation, she couldn’t help but flash a tender smile. Maybe the cats missed them after being away for so long!
Qin Sisi opened the backpack and let Ye You out. She rembered that she had two sausage sticks in the bag and broke them into pieces to give to the cats.
Seeing Ye You’s noble and elegant figure, the cats imdiately gathered around, dropping their heads and incessantly owing. For the ti being, they ignored the pieces of sausage that Qin Sisi had offered.
Qin Sisi shrugged self-mockingly. It appeared that the cats missed not them, but Ye You alone.
In the end, Ye You gave a couple of loud ows, which sounded different than the other cats, more resonant, almost as if giving an order.
Upon hearing Ye You’s noises, the cats quieted down imdiately. Each took a piece of sausage and swiftly disappeared into the bushes.
Only a pure white cat was reluctant to leave, softly owing by Ye You’s side with its tail erect and rubbing its furry little head against Ye You’s leg.
Ye You backed away rapidly as if electrocuted and emitted several growling and stern ows towards the white cat.
The white cat seed to feel wronged. It lowered its head and owed softly, without even taking interest in the sausage on the ground. It moved towards the bushes, looking back every couple of steps. It didn’t seem keen to go.
Qin Sisi watched this scenario in confusion, then inquired Ye You, "What’s wrong with that cat?"
Ye You’s eyes dropped as he responded, "Nothing. Let’s go ho."
Saying so, Ye You voluntarily crawled back into the backpack.
Qin Sisi took a puzzled look at Ye You, and seeing that he was not interested in the cat, simply lifted the backpack and continued walking towards ho.
Having been away for so ti, a thin layer of dust had settled on the table. The mont Qin Sisi stepped inside, she let Ye You out of the backpack and began cleaning the house. She then threw the couch cover and the bedding into the washing machine.
Two hours later, the cleaning was done and the room had essentially returned to its previous condition.
Qin Sisi washed her face in the bathroom and then prepared a pot of porridge in the kitchen. Since the porridge was hot, she left it to cool, while she collapsed on the bed, resting for a while.
Since his return, Ye You had been resting with his eyes closed on the bed. Given his present condition, he was unable to help Qin Sisi with the chores. Watching Qin Sisi working nonstop filled him with a sense of guilt.
Upon noticing Qin Sisi laying down beside him, Ye You moved closer to stroke her loose strands of hair off of her forehead, quietly saying, "You’ve worked hard."
