Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Who is the Fisherman?
Despite Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak putting forth all their effort, the Yin-Yang Beast in its berserk status was overwhelmingly powerful, far beyond their imagination.
Clusters of fiery orange flas continuously spewed from its right eye. The magic skills released by Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak managed to weaken the flas slightly, but they did not dissipate, nor did the speed of the onslaught decrease.
In the next second, Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak were engulfed by the flas.
Ye You felt a fleeting sense of relief, hoping that Tian Xiaozi had finally been annihilated by the flas of the Yin-Yang Beast.
But reality proved that disasters tend to linger; Tian Xiaozi was not so easily killed.
The flas surged past Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak, crashing into the Blaze Fla Shield left by Ye You. Only then did they gradually dissipate, and the Blaze Fla Shield, of course, ceased to exist as well.
To Ye You and Qin Sisi’s surprise, Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak remained unscathed, standing firmly.
Above their heads, they held a tallic umbrella emitting a ghostly glow.
Ye You’s heart tightened as he narrowed his eyes to examine it carefully. Finally, he muttered lowly the reason why Tian Xiaozi could survive the flas of the Yin-Yang Beast: "Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella."
It seed Tian Xiaozi hadn’t been idle over the past few years. Not only had his magical power grown significantly, but he had also acquired so extrely powerful magic artifacts.
Although the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella couldn’t compare to a Divine Artifact, its defensive capabilities were astonishingly formidable.
Against magic skills of the sa or lower level as its user, the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella could easily protect its owner from harm.
Even against magic skills of a higher level than its user, the umbrella could still block them, though the process would damage the umbrella itself.
The greater the difference in level between the user and their opponent, the more severe the damage to the umbrella. If forced to endure many attacks from opponents of significantly higher levels, the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella could collapse entirely—a fact that explained Tian Xiaozi’s reluctance to use it initially.
As a valuable artifact he had painstakingly acquired, he naturally wouldn’t use it recklessly. But monts ago, he had no choice but to rely on the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella to save his life.
Once the flas of the Yin-Yang Beast dissipated, Tian Xiaozi quickly pulled the man in black cloak, intending to flee toward the cave entrance.
However, lifting their heads, they were shocked to find the massive, grotesque Yin-Yang Beast blocking their path.
The Yin-Yang Beast instinctively recognized that these two were not the original intruders, but since it couldn’t locate the first pair, anyone who ca to its cave in search of treasure had to pay the price—it would kill anyone who entered. Two intruders? They both die. Four? It kills a double pair.
This ti, the Yin-Yang Beast blinked its left eye, releasing a barrage of icy, piercing water arrows shooting from its right eye toward Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak.
Still in berserk status, the Yin-Yang Beast’s magical power rivaled that of the Demon Lord, a level that Tian Xiaozi, at the Magic God rank, struggled to withstand. Helpless, he once again opened the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella to block the Yin-Yang Beast’s attacks.
The Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella proved its worth, shielding Tian Xiaozi once more from the Yin-Yang Beast’s assault. The countless sharp, chilling water arrows struck the umbrella, deflected chaotically in all directions before scattering to the ground, forming thin streams of water.
The Yin-Yang Beast, both surprised and furious, hadn’t expected the umbrella to be so formidable, nullifying all its attacks.
Its competitive spirit flared. Angry and eager to win, it intensified its attacks on Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak.
With one blink of its right eye, fiery orange flas erupted; with one blink of the left, icy sharp water swords surged.
Tian Xiaozi had never felt so stifled before. Though accustod to hardship and revenge-driven strategy during years spent with his mother in the desolate Mountain of No Regrets, the local monsters and spirits in the mountain revered him as their leader.
Later, he outwitted Tian Yu by scheming to travel to Fengge Wang City, kill Tian Yu, curse Ye You, and ascend to the Sage Ruler’s throne.
Although he served only as an interim Sage Ruler by title, as long as Ye You couldn’t defeat him, no one dared to question his claim to the throne.
Having discovered clues suggesting Ye You and the others were seeking the Water Fire Spirit Pearl, he had hoped to take advantage of the situation. Yet who would’ve thought he’d be tornted endlessly by this damnable Yin-Yang Beast?
Tian Xiaozi desperately wanted to charge forward and tear the Yin-Yang Beast apart, but he lacked the strength and could only cower behind the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella.
Relentless, the Yin-Yang Beast continued to attack—alternately fire then water—leaving Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak in utter misery.
The umbrella’s sheen continued to dim. After blocking more than a dozen attacks from the Yin-Yang Beast, it eventually shattered and collapsed, rendering the high-grade magic artifact completely destroyed.
Tian Xiaozi gasped in shock. Facing the Yin-Yang Beast without the Hundred-refined of Netherworld Gold Umbrella, he was utterly defenseless. Could it be that he, a once-mighty figure, was dood to perish tragically in this lightless cave?
In despair, both Tian Xiaozi and the man in black cloak unleashed their most powerful magic skills against the Yin-Yang Beast.
Effortlessly, the Yin-Yang Beast nullified their attacks, preparing to blink its eyes again to create another fiery-water assault. Suddenly, its body froze, movents halting for a mont.
Tian Xiaozi didn’t know what had happened to the Yin-Yang Beast, but the earlier despair had filled him with an acute sense of mortality. Seeing the Yin-Yang Beast’s movents stop, he seized the opportunity to escape.
Tian Xiaozi swiftly dashed toward the cave’s entrance, while the man in black cloak, unwilling to lag behind, flapped his magic wings furiously to follow closely.
Surprisingly, the Yin-Yang Beast didn’t chase after them, remaining rigidly in place. A few monts later, its aura significantly weakened.
Ye You’s Divine Sense swept over. Monts ago, in berserk status, the aura of the Yin-Yang Beast glead a dazzling silver. Now, its aura returned to the violet hue indicative of Seventh Order strength, then shifted to the brown tone symbolic of Sixth Order strength, and finally settled at the red shade of Fifth Order.
When the beast’s aura stabilized at the red color, Ye You’s heart filled with delight. Like the fisherman who benefits from the struggle between the clam and the crane, he and Qin Sisi had gotten incredibly lucky today.
Ye You pulled Qin Sisi out from the canyon on the left, his gaze firm as he stared down the weakened Yin-Yang Beast. Qin Sisi noticed the changes too and exclaid happily, "Its berserk status has ended?"
Ye You smirked, nodding as he replied, "Yes, now it’s our turn to strike."
With that, Ye You raised the Phoenix Scepter in his hand and launched an attack on the weakened Yin-Yang Beast.
Now reduced to Fifth Order, equivalent to the level of a Human Magic Spirit, the Yin-Yang Beast was no match for Ye You.
