Chapter 1110: Chapter 1110 Fairy Piccolo
Ye You lowered his head with a smile, gazing at the small boy and the piccolo in his hands. Suddenly, his expression changed drastically, his pupils contracted sharply, and he strode forward to snatch the piccolo from the boy’s hands.
The boy was startled, his head jerking up in shock as he stared blankly at Ye You, unsure of what to do, and slowly stood up.
Ye You asked urgently, "Who gave you this piccolo?"
Because of his anxious and tense mood, Ye You’s tone ca across as slightly stern. The boy, who had lived in this village his whole life, was not accustod to seeing many strangers. Seeing Ye You’s fierce deanor, he burst into tears with a loud "Waah!"
Now it was Ye You’s turn to be at a loss. He wanted to quickly find out the origins of the piccolo, but the more he questioned, the worse the boy cried. Rubbing his temples, Ye You felt a headache coming on.
Not far away, Qing Xun noticed that sothing was amiss and hurried over. When his eyes fell on the piccolo in Ye You’s hand, his expression also shifted.
The piccolo was made of bone, likely from so kind of Demonic Beast — this itself was not strange. The key detail was the transparent leaf hanging beneath the piccolo, etched with the image of a woman drawn in ink.
Bright sparkling eyes, radiant features, lips faintly pulled into a subtle smile, cascading long hair, dressed in black, exuding an aura of cool elegance—the woman’s facial features and temperant resembled Qin Sisi’s so closely that they were almost identical.
Qing Xun pondered for a mont and asked Ye You, "Is this piccolo the boy’s?"
"Yes," Ye You responded with a helpless nod, "Every ti I ask him, he just cries; you try."
Qing Xun nodded, squatted down in front of the boy, and spoke gently, "Little one, don’t cry anymore. Here, I’ll give you this."
Perhaps it was the uncle’s kind deanor that reassured the boy; his crying stopped abruptly, and he looked at the item Qing Xun held out. It was another piccolo, yet made of bamboo—a vibrant, lush green piece, looking particularly exquisite.
The boy licked his cracked lips and said, "I don’t want it. I only want my Fairy Piccolo."
"Fairy Piccolo?" Qing Xun repeated in surprise and pointed at the image on the piccolo of Qin Sisi, asking, "Is this the fairy you’re talking about?"
The boy nodded and said, "She’s the fairy; this piccolo was made by her."
Upon hearing this, Ye You examined the piccolo in his hand more closely. The bone was an icy white, tightly grained, and had a luminosity to its touch—it was most likely made from the bones of Arctic Wolves living near the Crystal City’s glacial plains.
Qin Sisi was a Forging Master, skilled in Music Magic as well. Crafting such a piccolo would not be beyond her capabilities.
But wasn’t she supposed to be in Taiyi Mountain? How did she end up in Crystal City acquiring Arctic Wolf bones? And how did her piccolo end up in Midair City?
Qing Xun was equally puzzled and tried asking the boy a different question, "Do you know the na of the fairy?"
The boy shrugged and replied, "The fairy’s na is just the fairy!"
Qing Xun chuckled helplessly and inquired further, "Did the fairy personally give you this Fairy Piccolo?"
Shaking his head, the boy answered, "No, Brother Ah Xia gave it to ."
"Who is Brother Ah Xia?" Qing Xun sensed a clue and pursued the question eagerly.
The boy rolled his eyes disdainfully and replied, "Brother Ah Xia is just Brother Ah Xia!"
Qing Xun suddenly felt like he was the foolish one standing in front of the little boy.
Ye You contemplated briefly and suddenly asked, "Does your Brother Ah Xia often go on faraway trips?"
This question hit the mark. The boy’s eyes lit up, and he proudly responded, "Yes! Brother Ah Xia is amazing. He has already activated the Magic Source. He’s a Magician and works as a guard for rchant caravans, often traveling to very far places."
Standing up, Qing Xun glanced at Ye You, who tightly gripped the Fairy Piccolo in his hand, his expression dark. Without warning, Ye You spun around and strode quickly toward the inner city of Midair City.
The boy shouted loudly, "Hey! Don’t just leave like that! Give
back my Fairy Piccolo!"
As he spoke, he burst into tears again.
Qing Xun quickly pulled out a variety of intriguing objects from his storage ring to offer to the boy. When idle, Qing Xun liked to craft various handmade trinkets from bamboo, purely to pass the ti.
He had assud these little creations were dood to spend eternity hidden away in his storage ring, but unexpectedly, they proved useful today. And that was fine; as long as soone liked them, it was worth it.
Noticing the boy’s thin, malnourished fra and tattered clothes, Qing Xun also handed him several Spirit Stones.
A child is still a child. Though the boy was upset about his Fairy Piccolo, seeing the kind uncle with so many wonderful gifts—another piccolo, as well as Spirit Stones—soon lifted his mood.
With these Spirit Stones, his family wouldn’t have to go hungry anymore.
Gratefully, the boy thanked Qing Xun, clutching his newfound treasures as he dashed away at top speed.
Qing Xun imdiately turned to chase after Ye You. Ye You’s previous expression was too troubling; who knew what rash actions he might undertake?
When Qing Xun arrived at the gates of Midair City’s inner city, he found Ye You already blocked by Yun Wang and his younger brother, Yun Cheng.
Qing Xun’s heart sank. Yun Cheng wasn’t supposed to be with them in Midair City—why had he appeared so suddenly? Could it have sothing to do with Taiyi Mountain Base?
Qing Xun hastened forward and overheard Yun Cheng reporting to Ye You.
"Your Highness, we’ve searched all around Taiyi Mountain and found no trace of Ms. Qin. We only discovered signs of a battle far away from the mountain, but there was no one in sight. We followed the traces to the mountain’s outskirts, but the trail vanished there—perhaps too much ti has passed. My grandfather sent
to Midair City to update you about Ms. Qin’s disappearance. I thought Ms. Qin might be heading to Midair City to find you, so I searched along the way, but unfortunately, I didn’t uncover any clues about her."
Yun Cheng explained the situation thoroughly while cautiously observing Ye You’s expression. He knew very well how much Qin Sisi ant to Ye You. Now that Qin Sisi was missing, Ye You would surely be frantic.
Yet Ye You didn’t appear overly surprised—he had already garnered suspicions after seeing the Fairy Piccolo.
After a brief pause in thought, Ye You asked, "When passing through the glacial plains near Crystal City, did you notice signs of Arctic Wolves being hunted?"
Yun Cheng thought hard for a mont, his eyes suddenly lighting up, and he quickly replied, "Yes! I rember now—on an ice field near Crystal City right before Midair City, there were many Arctic Wolf skeletons. Their flesh had been devoured by other Demonic Beasts, which is normal. Oddly, most of the larger bones were missing, leaving behind only smaller fragnts. There was one wolf, in particular, that was killed using Fire Magic—its body was reduced to scorched bones."
