Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086: Capture the Ringleader First
Next, a shocking scene unfolded—the remaining Arctic Wolves rushed to the corpses of their fallen companions, tearing into their bodies with sharp teeth, and chewing ravenously.
Everyone was left dumbfounded; these Demonic Beasts truly lived up to their na. Not only did they feel no sadness over the loss of their companions, but they even treated the corpses as food to fill their stomachs.
Qin Sisi was both shocked and quick to grasp a crucial detail: these wolves were starving. Otherwise, they would not have risked attacking a human caravan, much less consud the corpses of their own kind so desperately.
During her wilderness trials with Ye You, Qin Sisi had stored so cleaned and preserved at from smaller Demonic Beasts in her storage ring, prepared for ergencies. Today, it proved to be useful.
Qin Sisi took out the cleaned Demonic Beast at from her storage ring and threw it toward the Arctic Wolves surrounding the caravan. The wolves were imdiately attracted to the food that appeared before them, abandoning their attacks to fight over the at Qin Sisi had thrown.
At that mont, a deep, resounding howl echoed across the desolate, empty ice field. The sound carried an air of warning, imbued with the authority and cruelty of a superior being.
The Arctic Wolves vying for food froze in their tracks, dropping the at from their mouths as they bared their cold, sharp teeth at the caravan once more.
Qin Sisi followed the direction of the howl and saw, atop a small hill, the largest, most robust Arctic Wolf standing tall. Its thick fur bristled, and green light glimred faintly in its eyes.
Narrowing her eyes, Qin Sisi realized this must be the alpha wolf of the pack. "Capture the ringleader first," she thought—to truly escape danger, this alpha wolf must be eliminated.
Unwilling to reveal her identity, Qin Sisi refrained from summoning the Wings of Rainbow. Instead, she used her Magic Power to condense magic wings behind her, then flew toward the alpha wolf atop the hill.
The alpha wolf’s eyes glead with fighting spirit. As soon as Qin Sisi landed, an icy fog enveloped her, its frigid touch forcing her to shiver.
She quickly activated her Fire Attribute Magic Power to warm herself and dispel the cold, while examining the alpha wolf using her Divine Sense.
When she saw the faint blue light on its body, Qin Sisi’s lips curved into an elusive smile. If it were a Fifth Order Demonic Beast, she would have to fight with everything she had. Fortunately, it was only a Fourth Order Demonic Beast—despite her injuries not being fully healed, she should be able to handle it.
The Moon Spirit Golden Feather traced a shimring arc of golden light before her. Qin Sisi unleashed her Hell Flas magic skill, sending flas fueled by Fire Attribute Magic Power surging toward the alpha wolf.
The alpha wolf hastily opened its mouth, spewing icy fog continuously to ward off the blazing flas charging at it.
For a while, the two forces were deadlocked. Suddenly, Qin Sisi increased her magic output, and the fire intensified, transforming into a raging fire dragon that pierced the fog barrier and struck the alpha wolf’s bristle-covered body.
The alpha wolf burst into flas, its fur ablaze, its entire body consud by golden fire.
The alpha wolf let out a tortured howl before turning swiftly to flee, aiming to dive into the ice lake and extinguish the fire that engulfed it.
Perceiving its intentions, Qin Sisi expeditiously flapped her magic wings to intercept it by the ice lake, striking the weakened and flaming wolf with her Holy Fire Illusion Sword. The golden flas ford into a massive longsword that shot toward the alpha wolf.
The alpha wolf attempted to fend off the attack by spewing ice fog, but was utterly powerless against the divine might of Sun’s True Fire. The enormous fla-forged sword pierced through its body, leaving a transparent hole edged in black smoke.
The alpha wolf finally collapsed, its vitality extinguished within the fire’s embrace.
The other Arctic Wolves, seeing their alpha slain, descended into panic and fled hurriedly toward the direction of the ice lake.
Bu Lang, Ah Xia, and the others, fueled by bloodlust, chased them down for so distance, killing a few more wolves before the remaining five or six escaped across the floating ice slabs far away.
The battle ended in victory for the caravan, but their situation was grim. Two guards had died, and aside from Qin Sisi, everyone was injured to varying degrees.
Qin Sisi used Gold Attribute Magic to split open the alpha wolf’s forehead and retrieved a Level Four Ice Attribute Magic Crystal Stone. Among the other Arctic Wolves, only a single Level Two Magic Crystal Stone was found.
She handed both Magic Crystal Stones to Yu Miao, instructing him to exchange them for Spirit Stones as compensation for the deceased guards and relief for the wounded.
Yu Miao was astonished when Qin Sisi retrieved the Magic Crystal Stones from the alpha wolf’s body, thinking she might keep them for herself. After all, the Level Four crystal was exceedingly valuable, and the alpha wolf had been slain entirely by her efforts.
When Qin Sisi voluntarily handed over the Magic Crystal Stones, Yu Miao was overco with indescribable gratitude—he had already prepared to shoulder the financial losses.
With such heavy casualties, most of the profits from this transporting venture would be forfeited, leaving Yu Miao disheartened and helpless after enduring hardships for nothing.
The two Magic Crystal Stones entirely altered the outco, ensuring compassionate resolution for the aftermath while preserving his usual profits.
Amid his excitent, Yu Miao began contemplating Qin Sisi’s identity. Her commanding magic prowess and benevolent generosity were impressive indeed; he had never heard of soone like her before. Perhaps she belonged to a prominent family—she was worth befriending.
Qin Sisi didn’t dwell on such matters. After handing over the Magic Crystal Stones to Yu Miao, she went to check on the injured. For those lightly injured, she used Wood Attribute healing magic; for the severely wounded, she administered Bodhi Pills from her storage ring.
Ah Xia suffered serious injuries, so Qin Sisi offered him a Bodhi Pill. As a Level Two Magician, the Level Four pill refined by Ye You was more than adequate—Ah Xia’s injuries healed swiftly.
He first expressed his gratitude to Qin Sisi, then quietly stepped aside, taking out his small flute from his pocket, his spirits heavy.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Sisi noticed Ah Xia’s dejected mood and approached to ask softly.
Ah Xia opened his palm, revealing the flute fragnts with a look of sorrowful helplessness. "During the fight with the Arctic Wolves, my flute got broken."
Qin Sisi glanced down—clearly, the flute had shattered into several pieces beyond repair.
Ah Xia sighed to himself, murmuring, "Musical instrunts are expensive. I saved for a long ti to buy this one. It’ll take a while before I can get another..."
Qin Sisi looked at him thoughtfully and asked, "Before you had this flute, how did you practice music then?"
