Chapter 1081: Chapter 1081: The Disparity of Strength in Pursuit

After Ye You left Taiyi Mountain, Qin Sisi found herself with much more free ti. Worried that she might beco too lonely and concerned for her safety, Ye You had Yun Wang select two servants with relatively strong magic power from the Panhu family to serve Qin Sisi and keep her company. At the sa ti, Grandma Mad would often stop by to visit her as well.

The two servants were nad Xiao Pei and Xiao Qian. While staying in the cave, Qin Sisi would occasionally exchange a few words with them, but during her outings to practice, she either went alone or accompanied Grandma Mad.

Although Xiao Pei and Xiao Qian were considered to have strong magic power among the servants, they were rely at the level of magicians. Taking them along would not be helpful and would instead force Qin Sisi to divide her attention to protect them. On the other hand, Grandma Mad’s strength was sufficient to provide mutual support to each other.

However, since Grandma Mad often had to assist Yun Cheng in managing the various trivial affairs at the Taiyi Mountain base, she wasn’t always available to accompany Qin Sisi on her training outings. As such, Qin Sisi often ventured out alone.

About seven or eight days passed in this manner. On this particular day, she followed her usual routine, finished breakfast, and prepared to head into the wild to practice her magic skills on demonic beasts. Grandma Mad was busy and unable to accompany her, so Qin Sisi inford Xiao Pei and Xiao Qian before summoning her Wings of Rainbow and flying deeper into Taiyi Mountain.

Over the past days, she had familiarized herself with the environnt near the base, knowing where to find demonic beasts suitable for her, while conscientiously avoiding dangerous areas with higher-level magical creatures that posed a threat to her.

At her current level, she could generally defeat Fifth Order Demonic Beasts, but occasionally, she would encounter particularly cunning beasts that managed to exploit gaps in her attacks and escape.

Gradually, Qin Sisi began adopting cat-and-mouse tactics, capturing a beast only to release it and chase after it later, using the process as a form of training and self-challenge.

That day, after repeated encounters, she managed to slay three demonic beasts. To her delight, all three beasts happened to have magic crystal stones within them, which made Qin Sisi quite happy.

She carefully sorted the spoils. The items she needed were stored in a box within her storage ring, while the unneeded magic crystal stones were placed in a separate bag to be sold for money when she next visited a town.

Additionally, she scavenged other valuable materials from the three demonic beasts, so of which could be used as raw materials for forging. These she kept for herself. Others could be used for concocting pills, which she intended to gift to Ye You.

After organizing her spoils, the sky had darkened toward dusk. It was only then that Qin Sisi prepared herself for the journey back to the base, unaware that a deadly pursuit, far more dangerous than anything she had faced before, was creeping closer.

She had hardly taken a few steps when a surge of powerful magic force ca crashing toward her. Without ti to analyze or hesitate, she imdiately summoned her Wings of Rainbow and soared into the sky, evading the ambush below.

Looking down, she saw that the incoming attack had been a water attribute magic skill, the Cloud Water Thorn. A cluster of sharp, glimring water spears blazed past with imnse speed. After Qin Sisi dodged them, the water spears slamd into the massive trees behind her. Thick tree trunks, large enough to require an adult’s embrace, were pierced through effortlessly as though they were made of paper.

Qin Sisi’s heart tightened. Such overwhelming destructive power—the enemy’s magic power was likely on par with hers.

Soon, a figure clad in black appeared in front of her, lightly flapping their magic wings, confronting Qin Sisi in mid-air.

Their large black robe wrapped their body tightly. Their head was covered with a black hood and veil, leaving only a pair of sharp, gleaming eyes exposed. Those eyes were fixed coldly on Qin Sisi, exuding a terrifying killing intent.

Qin Sisi’s heart sank further, recognizing that alien, unforgiving gaze. This person had co to end her life.

She flicked her wrist, summoning the Moon Spirit Golden Feather into her hand. Faced with such an obvious intent to kill, she had no choice but to fight for her life.

A flicker of disdain glinted in the black-robed figure’s eyes. They raised their arm slightly, revealing their weapon—a plain, ordinary-looking broadsword with only a four-star rating. This puzzled Qin Sisi.

But the black-robed figure didn’t seem to care about their weapon. Lifting the broadsword lightly, they unleashed an overwhelming attack: rainstorm arrows, imbued with frightening magic power, surged toward Qin Sisi.

Qin Sisi’s thoughts raced. Water countered fire—using fire magic would be unwise. Opting for a gold attribute magic, she unleashed the Sword of Yama with her Moon Spirit Golden Feather, conjuring a massive longsword that t the incoming rainstorm arrows head-on.

She knew full well that this enemy would be hard to deal with and had already pushed herself to the limit. However, the outco left her in despair.

The rainstorm arrows collided against the Sword of Yama mid-air. After a brief standoff, the arrows completely neutralized the sword’s power. The Sword of Yama dissipated, and the remaining force of the arrows surged forward, shattering the Copper Iron Wall that Qin Sisi hastily conjured as a barrier. The imnse magic force ultimately struck her body.

The impact sent Qin Sisi hurtling nearly a hundred ters away before she crashed into a massive tree and fell to the ground.

The scene bore a haunting similarity to her earlier battle with the Devouring Sky Golden Python, though this enemy seed even more formidable than that beast.

Upon seeing Qin Sisi injured and on the ground, the black-robed figure imdiately darted closer, unleashing another magical skill to finish this lopsided battle.

Knowing she couldn’t withstand the next attack, Qin Sisi desperately summoned earth attribute magic power and dove headfirst into the soil, hoping the black-robed figure was not proficient in earth magic.

Qin Sisi utilized the Burrow Escape skill. The black-robed figure’s Bursting Water Bullets lost their target and passed harmlessly by. After a brief mont of consideration, the figure adjusted the direction of their broadsword, directing its magic force at the patch of earth where Qin Sisi had vanished.

Inside the ground, Qin Sisi had managed to move a short distance to the rear, hoping to evade direct pursuit. However, her mastery of earth magic was shallow; having studied it for only two years before ceasing further practice, her technique was far from refined.

Concentric waves of devastating energy rippled outward from the point of impact, originating from the black-robed figure’s strike. Qin Sisi hadn’t burrowed far enough and was caught in the blast’s radius. The swirling, muddy water forced her out of the ground, slamming her back onto the unforgiving terrain.

Dull pain throbbed through her internal organs, her bones felt as though they might disintegrate, and visible wounds began to bleed. Caked in mud and utterly drained, she appeared disheveled and helpless.

For several fleeting seconds, Qin Sisi thought it was truly over for her this ti. She and her opponent weren’t even on the sa level. There wasn’t the slightest chance of victory. With Ye You absent, no one would co to her rescue.

Her power remained pitifully small. When would she finally grow strong enough to not fear any ambush or pursuit? Would that day ever co?
