Chapter 1072: Chapter 1072: The Wish for Revenge
Qin Sisi lay on the bed inside the cave as Ye You stood at the foot of the bed, his face full of concern as he watched her. Jing Jing and Xiao ng, the two sisters, were on either side of her, healing her wounds. The force of being thrown onto the tree by the Devouring Sky Golden Python had caused severe injuries. Fortunately, she had taken a Bodhi Pill in ti, which healed the most critical internal injuries, enabling her to continue battling the Devouring Sky Golden Python afterward.
However, the Level Four Bodhi Pill was no longer sufficient for her. There were still many wounds on her body that the pill could not heal. Jing Jing and Xiao ng had to work together to fully restore all of her injuries.
The power of Wood Attribute Magic, like threads of a refreshing and soothing spring, seeped from Jing Jing and Xiao ng’s palms and slowly penetrated Qin Sisi’s body. Qin Sisi felt a wave of comfort and peace wash over her, and the pain from her wounds gradually dissipated.
The danger had completely passed. In the now safe and comforting environnt, the overwhelming fatigue finally swept through her body. After an intense and terrifying day and night, she had exhausted her willpower, physical strength, and magic power. She indeed needed a good rest.
Qin Sisi glanced at Ye You and then slowly closed her eyes. Ye You, Xiao ng, Jing Jing... the people she trusted most were all by her side. She no longer needed to live in fear; she could set aside all concerns and sleep peacefully.
Ye You gazed at Qin Sisi with aching tenderness. Her expression was serene, and her long eyelashes cast a faint shadow, but her brows were still knit tightly together, as if burdened with unresolved worries.
Inside, Ye You felt deep guilt. Back in the Heavenly Magic God’s Castle, he hadn’t been able to care for her, making her endure many hardships. Now that she was by his side, he had thought he was strong enough to protect her, yet she had still faced even greater dangers.
His fingers involuntarily rose, seeming to want to smooth out her furrowed brows. Halfway up, he paused, realizing he shouldn’t disturb Jing Jing and Xiao ng as they healed her. Only if they could focus without interruption could Qin Sisi recover faster.
Ye You lowered his head in thought for a mont before turning and leaving the cave where he and Qin Sisi resided.
In a nearby, narrow, and dark cave, Aunt i paced anxiously back and forth. She glanced towards the doorway every few monts, where Grandma Feng and Yun Wang stood, watching her. Their presence filled her with dread. Ye You surely knew everything by now—what kind of punishnt awaited her?
Ti seed to drag on agonizingly. The drip-drip sound of water in the cave’s corner echoed like a deathly chant, making Aunt i’s heart race uncontrollably. The punishnt itself was not as terrifying as the wait leading up to it, which was pure tornt.
At last, she heard Yun Wang softly call out, "Your Highness." She quickly turned around to see Ye You slowly entering the cave, casting her a cold, disdainful glance.
On the way back carrying Qin Sisi, he had already asked her about it. Qin Sisi had remained silent for a long ti, saying nothing. It wasn’t until he pressed her again that she’d softly whispered two words in his ear—Aunt i.
Ye You’s suspicions were confird. He didn’t ask further questions; the reasons and process didn’t matter. What mattered was that Aunt i, as a servant, had dared to deliberately harm the person most important to him, coming so close to making him lose her forever.
Even though, in the past, Ye You had never treated Aunt i as just a servant. He had been grateful for her care during his childhood, treating her with respect and honor. However, she had taken that courtesy and respect as a license to act without bounds. Beyond his grief and guilt over Qin Sisi, Ye You felt a deep sense of disappointnt and sadness towards Aunt i.
Seeing the look in Ye You’s eyes, Aunt i felt her heart sinking. He was using that look on her. Ever since the deaths of Patroness Gewan and Sage Ruler Tian Yu, Ye You had been the only person she cared about in this world. She had thought of him in every way, yet she had earned his rejection and scorn. Why?
Ye You withdrew his gaze and turned to look at the so-called ’Grandma Mad’ that Qin Sisi had ntioned. Ye You rembered this old woman from the dining hall of the Heavenly Magic God’s Castle but never imagined that she had once been his grandmother’s servant, staying in the castle to secretly watch over him.
"Grandma, may I ask for your esteed surna?" Ye You inquired warmly.
Grandma Mad quickly bowed slightly, her raspy voice replying, "This servant’s family na is Feng, given na Jin. I was fortunate to awaken the Magic Source at sixteen, chosen to serve as Patroness Lengcan’s maid. Back then, she was just eleven. Fourteen years later, when Patroness Lengcan wed Sage Ruler Ruiyan, this servant followed her into the Royal Palace."
Ye You nodded. Grandma Mad’s reasoning and clarity were evident; her concise remarks had outlined her background and relationship with Patroness Lengcan comprehensively. She was indeed a sharp-minded individual.
"Grandma Feng," Ye You greeted with respect. Since she was once his grandmother’s servant, she was technically half an elder to him. Additionally, having just saved Qin Sisi, her loyalty and rits deserved his acknowledgnt.
Grandma Feng imdiately said, "Your Highness, there’s no need to extend such courtesy. This servant has co specifically to pledge loyalty, hoping this frail body can still serve Your Highness in so small way. I only pray Your Highness does not find
a burden."
Ye You smiled faintly. "Why would I find you a burden? You’ve just rendered a great service and deserve a proper reward."
With that, Ye You retrieved a vial of Ice Spirit Pills, a vial of Spirit Revitalizing Pills, and a vial of Bodhi Pills from his Portable Space and presented them to Grandma Feng. She was at once joyous and apprehensive, hurriedly declining, "This servant has already accepted a Level Five Ice Attribute Magic Crystal Stone from Ms. Qin and dares not take further rewards from Your Highness."
"Take it; it’s what you deserve." Ye You handed the pills to Yun Wang, who imdiately approached Grandma Feng and firmly placed them into her frail hands.
Staring at the priceless pills in her hands, Grandma Feng couldn’t suppress her delight. Knowing she had successfully entered Ye You’s circle and gained both his gratitude and that of Qin Sisi, she now felt capable of pursuing her long-cherished goals.
Among all the living souls, there was probably no one who hated Tian Xiaozi more than Grandma Feng. If not for what Tian Xiaozi’s mother did, Patroness Lengcan wouldn’t have died so young and sorrowful.
Countless tis, she had fantasized about taking revenge for Patroness Lengcan. Yet she understood that her paltry level of magic power would accomplish nothing but hasten her death if she ventured to the Mountain of No Regrets for vengeance. Anyway, since mother and son were trapped there, unable to stir trouble, Grandma Feng had set aside her vendetta temporarily.
But she hadn’t expected Tian Xiaozi to continue his sinister ambitions even after his mother’s death, using their brotherly bond to deceive Sage Ruler Tian Yu and seize the throne by fratricide, persecuting Ye You in the process. This reignited the flas of hatred blazing within Grandma Feng.
She had waited patiently and finally saw Ye You grow into his full potential, launching an official battle against Tian Xiaozi. She was determined to help Ye You reclaim the throne and, at the sa ti, fulfill her decades-long wish for revenge.
