Chapter 1045: Chapter 1045: The Final Duel
This battle was the final duel, and the top graduate from their assessnt was to erge from between the two of them.
The Frosting Sword glinted with a cold light, effortlessly breaking gold and shattering jade, while the Wings of Rainbow shone brilliantly, invincible against all.
Li Li’s intrinsic attribute was the Wind Attribute; the pale blue Magic Light mixed with the howling of winds, turning the wind into sothing extraordinary, giving even the slightest breeze the power to slash skin and flesh.
Qin Sisi directly wielded her Fire magic skill; her Magic Source coming from Ye You’s blood implied that her intrinsic attribute should be the sa as Ye You’s Fire Attribute. Coupled with the presence of Divine Fire, Fire magic was her most formidable magic.
With Wings of Rainbow fluttering, Qin Sisi soared in the sky while Li Li commanded the winds to ascend, facing her from afar. The pale blue Wind Attribute Magic Power and the golden Fire Attribute Magic Power collided mid-air, unleashing a thunderous boom that shook the steady earth and plants trembling.
Even though Qin Sisi was one level lower than Li Li, her weapon, Moon Spirit Golden Feather, was half a star superior to Li Li’s Frosting Sword. Additionally, with the strength of Divine Fire, they were evenly matched in their contest, making the outco difficult to discern.
Powerful magic skills greatly drained their Magic Light, but their storage rings were filled with a plethora of magical potions, which they stuffed into their mouths at any given opportunity, repeatedly restoring their Magic Light and allowing the fight to last an extended duration.
The two fought from noon to evening, and from evening to late into the night, as a cold round moon rose in the sky, resembling an emotionless eye.
Both Qin Sisi and Li Li were exhausted, yet they persisted, grinding their teeth. Li Li’s decisive coldness and Qin Sisi’s softness concealed by grit took them on different paths to the sa determination to not easily concede defeat.
That voice they were now very familiar with rang out again: "If you cannot determine the winner before dawn, you two will tie for the second place."
Qin Sisi and Li Li were both startled, exchanging a complicated look as they had been too engrossed in the fight to rember this rule.
The rewards for the first place were definitely much greater than for the second; they were not real enemies, and it was better for soone to receive the rewards than for no one at all!
Hence, Qin Sisi suggested, "Li Li, I have a proposal: let’s stop taking any magical potions from now on."
"Okay," Li Li agreed without hesitation.
They were both well aware that given their equal strength, with the help of the potions, their battle could go on indefinitely.
With this agreent in place, they both felt more resolved. Li Li might have had a narrow advantage in rank, but Qin Sisi’s weapon and Divine Fire evened out the differences in their level. So be it, a fair and square fight it would be, with no regrets irrespective of who won or lost.
The pale blue and golden Magic Light shone even more dazzlingly in the night; the explosive sounds of their clashing magic skills were like bolts of lightning ripping through the pitch-black night.
After several rounds, both their Magic Light resources were nearly depleted, forcing them to descend to the ground with staggering steps, legs trembling slightly.
Qin Sisi and Li Li each concentrated the last vestige of their Magic Light into their weapons, eyes locked intently on each other, as the sharp cries of their challenge almost simultaneously rose. They lifted their weapons and charged at one another.
With their Magic Light exhausted, it all ca down to a contest of physical endurance and reflexes.
The Frosting Sword brutally pierced in, its light cold and frosty like snow, chilling Qin Sisi’s body rapidly as if even her blood had stopped flowing.
The Moon Spirit Golden Feather also struck down heavily, its bright golden radiance hot and blistering like the sun’s fierce flas, causing Li Li’s body to heat up swiftly as if even her bones had started to burn.
Two bodies ca to a standstill for several minutes, and eventually, they both stiffened and collapsed to the ground, dissipating into two rays of white light.
The full moon in the Illusion picture scroll faded away, leaving nothing but darkness behind; the sky, the earth, the plants, the Demonic Beasts... all had disappeared.
Outside the trial tower, Master Yipiao spread open his palm, and the massive crystal screen coiled together from both ends, shrinking into the size of an ordinary scroll, which steadily settled into his palm.
Turning his hand over, Master Yipiao stored the Illusion picture scroll into the storage ring, formally bringing the ten-day graduation examination to a close.
Qin Sisi and Li Li both opened their eyes simultaneously, quickly stood up, and glanced at each other, sharing a sense of appreciative rivalry.
The impatient Wu Ting was the first to speak up, "Master Yipiao, since Qin Sisi and Li Li both perished together at the end, how should we count this?"
Mo Liu, delighted by the misfortune, glanced at Master Yipiao and gleefully said, "What’s there to be troubled about? Since it’s a mutual downfall, they should share first place. Just have our esteed principal co up with two sets of first-place rewards, right?"
He knew that Master Yipiao had gone to great lengths for this graduation examination, and now was the opportunity to squeeze him for a bit more. Mo Liu was quite happy to watch the excitent unfold.
Huo Huan also chid in to stoke the fire, "That’s a good idea, two first places an that this class of students is bound to be impressive in the future."
Master Yipiao glared at the two of them and after coughing twice he said, "I prepared only one gift for the first place, so there can only be one first place."
He wasn’t going to fall for it; the prize for the first place was far too precious for him to give out another.
Upon hearing Master Yipiao’s words, both Qin Sisi and Li Li’s tension had reached its peak. They had fallen at nearly the sa mont, so who exactly was the first place?
Teacher Yinxi slowly suggested, "I have a proposal, since they both killed each other, we should add a hundred points to each of them, and the final rankings should be determined by the total scores."
This suggestion was agreed upon by everyone, and thus Qin Sisi and Li Li were both awarded an additional hundred points. After eliminating their peers, they both earned three hundred points, with the remaining scores coming from slaying Demonic Beasts.
After so calculations, in the end, Qin Sisi led by one point ahead of Li Li, securing the top rank in the graduation examination.
Xiao ng at the side cheered, loudly congratulating Qin Sisi. Yun Cheng and Wen Xuan also congratulated Qin Sisi at the first opportunity.
As for the result, Qin Sisi was both excited and sowhat uneasy; she always felt that her true strength was not as great as Li Li and Qing Pu’s, and that she had just a bit more luck than them.
In Li Li’s heart, there was a bit of speechlessness. While she acknowledged the thod chosen for deciding the first place and didn’t care too much about the rankings, being ranked just behind Qin Sisi by one or two points for three years in a row left her wondering whether it was a matter of strength or luck.
If it were a matter of strength, her magic level was clearly one grade higher than Qin Sisi’s.
If it were a matter of luck, could it be that Qin Sisi had been incredibly lucky for three consecutive years?
Li Li stayed silent for a mont, took a deep breath, cast aside the complex emotions in her mind, walked up to Qin Sisi, and said a word of "congratulations" to her.
