Natalie Vaughn was so happy tonight that she got a bit carried away, even sensing the threat in Zane Thorne’s words, she remained bold.

She wiped her hands clean, and in front of everyone, lifted Zane’s chin and then boldly touched it.

Flirting.

"Just like this."

The crowd started whistling and egging them on.

"Kiss, kiss."

Natalie looked at Zane, his eyes were full of starlight and firelight, and she too was in them. She was the one who took the initiative, and she was the one who fell in love at first sight. In love, there seems to be no winning or losing; truly in-love people always share in each other’s glory and loss.

She looked into Zane’s eyes and thought of the rally day, Zane’s deep black eyes full of scrutiny towards her, at that ti she hadn’t recognized him yet, nor did she know he had already recognized her.

Natalie slowly moved closer, amidst all the cheers, when only a fraction of an inch was left until Zane’s lips, she said.

"But I seem to have fallen for real."

After saying that, she kissed him directly.

At first, it was just curiosity about the man, perhaps a ga. But she didn’t know when her mindset began to change. Maybe it was that night when Zane got hit for her, maybe it was the first ti and the only ti she sat in the co-pilot seat of Zane’s race car, or maybe it was their rather fervent first kiss.

Who could say for sure?

After hearing Natalie’s words, emotions swept through Zane’s eyes intensely, and almost as Natalie kissed him, he responded, encircling her waist to trap her, pulling her into his embrace, and deepening the kiss.

Amidst the cheering, a round of applause followed for a long, extended kiss.

When it ended, Natalie’s face was already red beyond recognition. She seldom got shy, mostly in front of Zane, and rarely in front of others. This ti she clearly felt her ears burning and her face heating up.

Natalie coughed heavily a couple of tis, then said.

"Playing around, now I’ve fallen in."

...

By the ti Quentin Donovan and Shannon Rhodes returned, it had been half an hour. Natalie had just cast a gossiping glance at Quentin when Zane stood up and called Quentin into the house.

"..."

Natalie blinked and looked at Shannon.

"Which one of you won?"

The lighting was dim, and Natalie couldn’t clearly see Shannon’s unusual expression, she only sensed her breathing wasn’t very steady.

"Quentin only knows how to use his mouth, how could he win?"

Full of resentnt.

Natalie wasn’t sure how to continue asking, but Shannon’s reaction now, tsk, sothing must have happened between the two during that half hour.

Shannon probably realized her response was too intense, and after speaking she remained silent, fortunately, being around many GN people she knew helped her avoid feeling awkward.

It was ten minutes later when Zane and Quentin erged, Quentin sat directly next to Natalie, picked up a can of beer, and drank it heartily.

"Could you control your man, not to resort to violence so readily?"

"Did you guys get into a fight? Why?"

Natalie leaned in to look at Quentin, only to find that besides a wound on his mouth, there were no other injuries on his face. Two grown n fighting wouldn’t just end with a mouth wound, right?

"Did you win?"

Natalie instinctively doubted this conclusion, but since Quentin had no other wounds on him...

Quentin looked at Natalie’s worried expression, raised his hand as if to hit her, why couldn’t he have won? But as soon as he moved a bit, it tugged at his injuries.

He realized sothing was wrong as soon as he went in with Zane, and especially when Zane was ready to strike, he said don’t hit the face. Zane indeed didn’t hit the face; it was all on the body. Woc, are we still brothers, hitting so hard?

Seeing the change in Quentin’s expression, Natalie knew it was Zane who had won the fight.

"How co grown n are still fighting at thirty?"

Quentin retorted grumpily.

"Go ask your man."

Natalie touched her chin but didn’t go look for Zane right away. She was more curious about Quentin’s mouth injury than why they fought.

"How did you hurt your mouth?"

Quentin frowned, raised a hand to touch his lips, felt the pain, and then started grinning foolishly.

Natalie: ...

"Co on, spill it."

Quentin lowered his hand, raised an eyebrow, and looked insolently at Natalie.

"I just won’t say."

The pride in his voice made Natalie feel a bit embarrassed for him.

"Tsk, didn’t you just forcibly kiss soone and got bitten? What’s there to be proud of?"

The smile on Quentin’s face faded.

"What do you an by forcibly kissed? Natalie, don’t misuse words on ."

Natalie blinked and leaned over, staring at Quentin’s lips.

"So, you two really kissed?"

Quentin: ....

"Better worry about yourself, do you think your man will spare you?"

Natalie was puzzled.

"What do you an spare, not spare ?"

Quentin replied grumpily while munching on a skewer.

"Didn’t I tell you, a rookie negotiating a mountain turn is like walking on a tightrope? Any slip-up could cost your life, and look at you, daring to let go of the wheel to make gestures, huh? Copying that flashy style from years ago? Never mind your man, even I’m pissed."

After hearing, Natalie was silent for a while.

"But as soon as I ca down the mountain, he praised ."

Quentin scoffed.

"You think he’d scold you in front of everyone? Your man was saving your face. Watch, when you get back, he’ll probably have a word with you."

He would.

Natalie swallowed, she had focused on preparing a surprise for Zane, forgetting that, compared to surprises, Zane might care more about her safety.

She was actually scared beforehand too, but that fear wasn’t enough to stop her from wanting to surprise Zane. Truth is, imitating Zane’s drifting technique and gestures was rely her confession to that fiery and reckless man.

She hadn’t experienced the most dazzling part of his youth, so she chose this way to tell him that she liked him as he is now and also liked who he was back then.

After thinking about it for a long ti, Natalie sighed.

It’s inevitable Zane will have a talk with her.

Quentin found Natalie’s deanor rather intriguing.

"You two make an interesting couple; both got each other tightly under control."

Natalie rolled her eyes at him.

"If you’re so capable, go get soone for yourself. You’re over thirty and still single; doesn’t that embarrass you?"

"I’m just thirty-one! What do you an over thirty! Anyway, I’m proud of being single, so what if I’m single? Are you looking down on single people? I look down on married folks like you."

Natalie snickered.

"It’s not single people I look down on, it’s you."

Quentin: ...

"You’re clearly in love, clearly can’t let go, yet you loudly declare the nobility of being single when it’s you who lacks the guts to get her. You’re quite pathetic."

Quentin: ...
