Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.

Zhang Lingying was still talking about Lu Jing’s assistant when her doorbell rang.

She froze for a few seconds and went to open the door, only to find Lu Jing’s assistant standing outside.

Seeing her, the assistant’s eyes widened in surprise, and he stamred.

"Miss Zhang, you’re finally ho... No, you’re at ho, so where is my President Lu?"

The assistant anxiously peered behind Zhang Lingying, trying to find Lu Jing. Seeing that there was no sign of Lu Jing in the living room, he panicked, thinking he had lost him, and was about to rush out and look for him.

"He’s asleep in the room."

Zhang Lingying grabbed the assistant by the collar, preventing him from leaving and pointed toward the bedroom.

The assistant instinctively headed toward the guest room to find him, but Zhang Lingying covered her eyes and spoke again, "He’s sleeping in my room."

The assistant stopped at the door, looking at Zhang Lingying in shock.

Assistant: "..."

Zhang Lingying: "..."

"I didn’t do anything to him, nothing happened between us. He got drunk, ca into my house and started showering himself, then... I didn’t watch him closely for a mont, and he ran into my room and fell asleep there."

Zhang Lingying struggled to explain the bizarre events she had experienced since returning ho.

"You ca just in ti, move your President Lu to the guest room."

The assistant snapped out of his daze, realizing he was overthinking, and quickly turned to check on Lu Jing in the room.

After confirming that his President Lu was alive and well, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"As long as he’s fine, as long as he’s fine..."

When the assistant saw Zhang Lingying standing at the door, glaring at him icily, he felt a chill down his spine again.

Moving Lu Jing from Zhang Lingying’s bed was impossible, he couldn’t do it in this lifeti.

But he could at least clarify what happened today for his President Lu.

-

In the living room.

Zhang Lingying maintained her hospitality, pouring the assistant a glass of water and sitting across from him.

"Tell , wasn’t Lu Jing supposed to be recovering in the hospital? How did he end up getting drunk like this and run to my house causing a scene?"

"Well..." The assistant held the water cup with both hands and swallowed hard.

After hesitating for a few seconds, he spoke sincerely.

"Miss Zhang, my President Lu hasn’t been back to the hospital for many days. He used to stand downstairs of your place every day, watching you from afar, but then..."

The assistant glanced at the cat in Zhang Lingying’s arms.

Thanks to this little kitten, Lu Jing finally had an excuse to co over.

Using the excuse of cat-sitting, he ca over daily to see her.

Who would’ve thought that Zhang Lingying would suddenly disappear without a word these past few days?

On the first day, Lu Jing faced a locked door and mopefully waited downstairs for her to return.

He waited a whole day without seeing her.

On the second day, he waited again but still didn’t see Zhang Lingying.

Although he knew Zhang Lingying was a grown-up with self-care abilities and strong safety awareness,

after not returning ho for two days, Lu Jing got so worried he started investigating her whereabouts.

What he discovered was shocking.

It turned out Zhang Lingying had moved herself and the cat to Leng Jian’s ho, cohabiting with Leng Jian.

Lu Jing went crazy instantly.

He sat motionlessly for an entire day, staring at the report on Zhang Lingying’s whereabouts, seemingly trying to discern sothing more from it.

Then, he unexpectedly drank himself into oblivion.

He refused to let anyone approach, or follow him, stubbornly insisting on staying at Zhang Lingying’s doorstep until she returned!

The assistant had chased him downstairs, and seeing the lights on upstairs, thought Lu Jing had gone berserk from waiting for Zhang Lingying, broke her door down, and barged in.
