The news spread quickly online.

When Zhang Lingying woke up, she hadn’t even had ti to think about why Lu Jing felt responsible for her, as if a screw had co loose in his head. Lu Jing’s assistant was already at her apartnt with people from the RE Group’s PR departnt.

Lu Jing must have received a call beforehand; he didn’t look very pleased.

Seeing Zhang Lingying awake, he proactively approached her and explained, "The fact that I moved to your place has been fild and posted online. A lot of people are now questioning whether I’m deliberately getting close to you for the Qin Technology Group’s experintal project."

"..."

Having just woken up, Zhang Lingying’s mind was a bit foggy.

Suddenly seeing a group of strangers at her ho, she hadn’t yet processed it when she heard Lu Jing’s words, leaving her in a daze for quite a while.

Seeing her like this, Lu Jing didn’t tell her that there were reporters all over the front of her apartnt building.

If he hadn’t trusted the apartnt managent and hadn’t brought in his private bodyguards to help maintain order in advance, the reporters would be blocking not just downstairs but right at her doorstep.

"You... got close to on purpose?" Zhang Lingying pointed at Lu Jing, then at herself.

"I did not." Lu Jing denied it without hesitation.

Zhang Lingying nodded affirmatively, not doubting Lu Jing.

She had seen Lu Jing sick with her own eyes. If he could fake that, he wouldn’t be unable to deal with his father, who was adept at reversing black and white to grab attention, letting Lu Xiao dance around outside.

Thinking of sothing, Zhang Lingying suddenly asked, "Was it your father who did it?"

Lu Jing didn’t answer, just gave a bitter smile.

Suddenly understanding, Zhang Lingying turned and returned to her room, retrieved her phone, and sat on the living room sofa to browse the news.

When she saw every news push related to them tagged with a big "Breaking" sign, she finally realized the seriousness of the situation.

If not handled well, not only would she be suspected of selling Qin Technology Group’s trade secrets, Lu Jing would be labeled as bribing a competitor’s employees and stealing trade secrets for malicious competition.

There were already many people cursing Lu Jing, demanding RE Group provide a reasonable explanation, or they would boycott all products under RE Group...

"You just moved into my place to recover from your illness; it has nothing to do with what they’re saying online. How did they connect so many accusations?" Zhang Lingying was completely bewildered.

Lu Jing’s assistant quickly explained, "Generally speaking, a normal person seeing this news might just be curious about your relationship with President Lu, but this ti, such a large amount of negative comnts and vicious speculation flooded out in such a short ti. There must be trolls behind this, guiding it."

"So, do we just let them spout nonsense without explaining?" Zhang Lingying looked up and asked.

In her view, the truth is the truth, and falsehood is falsehood.

As long as the people involved co forward and explain the circumstances clearly, the misunderstanding would naturally be cleared up.

Those trying to take advantage of the confusion, like Lu Xiao, definitely wouldn’t succeed.

"How to explain?" The assistant sighed, "Miss Zhang, you’ve seen the video, and it’s a fact that President Lu moved to your ho while you both currently hold positions as competitors. Even if we all believe you and President Lu are innocent, can others believe it?"

"..."

"Who would believe that President Lu, when sick, wouldn’t stay in the hospital for treatnt, but instead move out early to live at a competitor’s house and let her help treat him?"
