Zhang Lingying finished speaking, yet Lu Jing remained motionless, rely staring at the food in front of him.

Zhang Lingying didn’t bother with him, placing a spoon into the bowl of well-cooked porridge, then putting it in front of him. She continued, "Drink the porridge first. Your stomach hasn’t had food for a long ti, and suddenly having sothing too hard might make you uncomfortable. If the porridge tastes bland, you can have it with so side dishes. I consulted the doctor before making these dishes; you can eat them, but only in small amounts."

Zhang Lingying wasn’t sure if Lu Jing was listening to her, or if he was willing to eat at all.

Seeing Lu Jing reach out to pick up the spoon, she felt a sense of relief.

As long as he was willing to eat.

However, soon she noticed another problem. Lu Jing was eating, but he did it soullessly, chanically following her instructions, spooning porridge into his mouth, bite by bite.

He even paired the porridge with vegetables, strictly adhering to her guidance, only tasting a little bit of each dish. Within a couple of minutes, he had almost finished the bowl of porridge.

"Eat slower, no one’s going to take it from you," Zhang Lingying pressed down on his hand, urgently reminding him.

If he ate so quickly, his stomach was likely to feel uncomfortable afterward.

Upon hearing her words, Lu Jing paused his eating, looking up at her blankly like a child, seemingly puzzled, as if wondering why she appeared upset despite him obediently following her instructions.

Lu Jing put down the spoon and looked at Zhang Lingying with an extrely obedient posture and gaze.

Zhang Lingying: "..."

How did he beco sick and seem to regress in intelligence?

Looking foolish and dazed.

Zhang Lingying let out a gentle sigh, thinking to herself that as long as he finished eating, it was fine. She reached out to tidy up the al boxes, packing them up before turning to place them on the table beside her.

As she turned around, a hand clasped her wrist.

Lu Jing’s voice was sowhat hoarse, carrying a hint of low emotion, "Could you stay a little longer and keep company?"

Even now, he still wondered if Zhang Lingying’s presence was real or a fignt of his imagination.

However, in his heart, he knew that even if it were an illusion, he couldn’t bear for it to end.

"..."

Zhang Lingying hadn’t intended to leave. The assistant had told her that every ti Lu Jing forced himself to finish eating, he would have a strong nausea and throw everything up.

She rely wanted to tidy up the al boxes first to make it easier to observe his condition after eating.

But Lu Jing’s sudden action instantly reminded her of the first ti she brought him food.

Back then, after finishing a al, he had asked her if she could stay a bit longer too, and then... they ended up arguing.

"I’m not leaving, I’m just putting away the al boxes."

Zhang Lingying suppressed her own emotions, gesturing for Lu Jing to let go first. She lifted her hand to place the al boxes aside, then turned and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window to draw back the curtains.

The VIP room was spacious, with good lighting and view.

A small table and two chairs were set on the balcony.

It was already dark outside the window, with a bright moon hanging in the sky, surrounded by a faint yellow glow.

A few inconspicuous stars twinkled alongside.

When Zhang Lingying saw the stars, her hand gripping the curtain paused slightly. Then, she turned to look at Lu Jing, "You’ve just eaten, lying down imdiately isn’t good. How about I help you over here for a bit?"

Although she used a questioning tone, she didn’t actually seek Lu Jing’s opinion, but instead moved to lift the quilt, helping him out of bed.
