"Are we even now?" Qin Nanyu’s gaze shifted away from her as he took the lead and headed toward the side gate of Jiangcheng University.
That direction was the way ho for Ji Weitian.
Ji Weitian followed behind him, attempting to reason with him but received no response.
She was left fuming with pent-up frustration.
Qin Nanyu, on the other hand, caught glimpses of her hopping around like an angry little bird beside him, like a child lacking common sense. In his mind, he recalled the words Ji Kaisui had spoken at the Ji Family gathering.
When she had claid to have experience in parenthood in front of him, he had scoffed at her internally.
He hadn’t expected it to be true.
Who was that man?
His taste was poor to favor a troublemaker, but to love’em and leave’em, caring not even for his own daughter, such a man was definitely no good!
She didn’t seem to have it good in the Ji Family either.
Qin Nanyu’s brow lifted slightly as he was about to say sothing when Ji Weitian suddenly stepped in front of him and made a face at him.
Like a petulant child, venting her anger before taking off running!
In a flash, she dashed into her residential complex and, right in front of Qin Nanyu, had the security guard close the gate.
Qin Nanyu: "..."
Why would he feel sympathy for a troublemaker?
When Ji Weitian arrived ho, she found Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling had fallen asleep.
The soft, doughy little body lay on the sofa, apparently having waited for her until she dozed off.
Fatty’s plump body was squatting beside her as if afraid the little master would catch a cold, his fluffy tail laid over her little chest.
Seeing Ji Weitian approach the sofa, he swiftly jumped away from the little master and hid under the couch.
"Stupid Fatty, just because I’ve put the bla on you a few tis, do you have to run every ti you see ?" Ji Weitian muttered, bending over to see the little darling asleep on the sofa, her heart lting.
She kissed her chubby little cheek and gently picked her up from the sofa, but as she moved, she noticed a financial magazine crushed under her.
On the cover of the magazine was Qin Nanyu’s flawlessly perfect face.
Ji Weitian: "..."
She had been tornted physically and ntally by Qin Nanyu in the lab, yet her daughter treated the devil who tornted her as a male god, even clinging to his magazine to sleep.
Could anyone have it worse than her?
Ji Weitian put her daughter to bed without hesitation, then returned to the living room, grabbed the magazine, and stuffed it into the trash can, erasing all traces of it!
With the ’cri’ complete, she clapped her hands and contentedly went off to sleep.
The weekend was the perfect ti to sleep in, but Ji Weitan was rudely awakened by a succession of phone calls early in the morning. She groggily grabbed her phone and answered.
"Hello..."
"Little Sweetie, it’s a matter of life and death, super urgent!" An excited shriek ca from the phone.
Ji Weitian pulled the phone away, glanced at the caller ID, and saw that, as expected, it was her devilish bestie, Kali.
A career woman and project manager by profession.
Astute and loyal.
She grew up with Ji Weitan in the university town, having bonded over street food.
Also, she was a workaholic...
"Didn’t you just tell a few days ago that you were wrapping up your work and planning to take so ti off? What’s so urgent now?" Ji Weitan had few friends and, upon hearing her cry for help, resigned herself to getting out of bed and rubbing her eyes asked.
When it ca to serious matters, Kali suddenly beca exasperated, "I did want to rest, but the project’s run into problems. And guess what, the client for this project is Qin Technology Group, it’s a nightmare!"
