"I clocked in on ti this morning, not late, and I took leave in advance to leave early in the afternoon. Plus, I finished all my work for the day. That’s called being efficient, not skimping on hours. What right do you have to despise and yet demand that I work overti?"
She stood her ground, defiantly.
Qin Nanyu paused in his steps and looked down at her.
"Compared to staying here for this boring party, I thought you’d be more willing to work and achieve the only value your life might have."
"Not at all, I could choose to go ho and spend ti with my adorable daughter. You just heard, my daughter is only four years old, she really needs my care, so I refuse to work overti... Qin Nanyu, let go!"
Ji Weitian was shoved into the car and her attempts to resist resulted in being strapped in by the seatbelt with the doors locked.
Angrily turning her head to glare at him, she said, "This is called restricting personal freedom, I can call the police to arrest you right now!"
Qin Nanyu tossed his phone to her.
"You can try it and see who arrives faster, the police or the dean’s letter of dismissal. As far as I know, your position at Jiangcheng University is just a contractual one, so dismissing you shouldn’t require any complicated procedures."
He held the steering wheel with one hand, set the gear, and gave a cool glance at the person beside him who was stunned silly, "Miss Ji, have you decided?"
Ji Weitian hugged his phone, speechless.
She loved her job, and her job loved her.
It wasn’t until they both returned to the lab that Ji Weitian realized that the research group’s experint had hit a bottleneck. It was sowhat similar to the situation recorded in file number one, but not entirely the sa.
Qin Nanyu seed to have been tackling the challenge with his team for a long ti without breaking through the obstacle.
That’s why he was so eager to find her today to check other project files, trying to find sothing useful from other experints.
Once Qin Nanyu got the key to the data room, he led people to sort through the archives.
Ji Weitian was left to the side, occasionally reminding them of file locations, functioning as an assistant.
With her there, all the docunts were almost effortlessly gathered.
Her capability proved what she had said to Qin Nanyu; she hadn’t been slacking off but had finished all her work before leaving.
Being efficient wasn’t her fault.
"Co and help," Qin Nanyu muttered, passing by Ji Weitian with a stack of docunts in his arms.
Ji Weitian raised her head, "What kind of tone is that? Did I say I wanted to go in and help..."
Okay, she really did want to take a look inside.
Ji Weitian silently followed him into the lab.
The vast space was brighter than the first ti she entered, likely because the experints were in progress. All the computer screens were on, and the large screen in the center displayed the early-stage model of their experint, resembling the structure of a human brain.
This 3D image was not unfamiliar to Ji Weitian at all.
Just last night, while she was rushing a report for Leng Jian, it had appeared on her computer screen.
Considering the painful lessons learnt from being kicked out the previous two tis, this ti Ji Weitian didn’t hurry to co forward but crossed her arms and stood at the back of the lab as an onlooker.
She eyed Qin Nanyu warily, only to find that Qin Nanyu seed like a completely different person the mont he entered the lab.
He stood in front of a computer, the blue light from the screen casting on his profile, highlighting its perfect curvature.
Rigorous, focused, and with his unique coldness.
Very handso!
