His reasoning seed so sound that if she refused, it would appear as though she wasn’t sincere about their relationship.

After discussing their living situation, Qin Nanyu recalled the reason he had co to Ji Weitian’s, "I can’t reach He Feichen, I suspect he’s at Kali’s place. But no one’s answering her phone either. You are best friends with her; do you have any other way to contact her?"
Upon hearing this, Ji Weitian took back her own phone and scrolled through it to find Kali’s landline number.
Following Qin Nanyu’s instructions, she called Kali.
The phone was quickly answered, Kali’s voice sounded congested, "Tiantian? Why are you calling at this hour?"
"That should be my question," Ji Weitian said bluntly. "What ti is it now, and why do you sound like you just woke up? Is He Feichen there?"
Kali paused for several seconds before she responded, "He is indeed here, how did you know?"
Her voice was soft, slightly guilty.
After all, not too long ago, she had vehently assured Ji Weitian that she and He Feichen had nothing to do with each other, yet in the blink of an eye, he was staying at her place...
It was indeed quite embarrassing.
Kali quickly tried to explain herself.
"Listen, I really don’t have anything to do with him. That day, after you called – I was dealing with a client outside – soone told him I was drunk and might be in danger. He actually sneaked out of his house."

Kali couldn’t help but sigh, "Who could he have possibly offended for them to use fake news to lure him out and get him beaten up like this?"

Ji Weitian held her phone, silently looking up, glancing at Qin Nanyu who sat on the armrest of her chair, looking indifferent.
The instigator was right beside her.
She hesitated whether to tell Kali.
"By the way, I never told you. How did you know He Feichen was here?" Kali asked curiously.
Ji Weitian: "..."
Just as she was about to crumble under pressure and expose Qin Nanyu, he took the phone from her himself.
