Water spilled out from the cup, spreading across the tabletop...

She snapped back to reality and hurriedly propped the cup up, grabbing a few tissues as she frantically cleaned up the ss.

"Teacher Ji, are you alright? Let help you."

Lei Yunjia took the tissues from her hands, and when he touched Ji Weitian’s fingers, he paused.

"Teacher Ji, your hands are so cold. Are you feeling unwell? I’ll take you to the infirmary!"

"I’m fine. I just didn’t sleep well last night. I want to be alone for a while..." Ji Weitian hid her hands under the table, her eyes darting away, not daring to et Lei Yunjia’s gaze.

Once Lei Yunjia made sure she was okay, he fixed the cup for her, wiped the table clean, and left the file room.

In the file room, only Ji Weitian remained.

She didn’t move, just sat quietly in her spot, staring down at the empty cup in front of her, lost in thought.

With Zhang Lingying joining the laboratory, it breathed new life into the team.

Everyone seed invigorated, filled with fighting spirit.

Although their first model didn’t succeed, Qin Nanyu quickly identified the problem and imdiately began the second experint...

Until closing ti, nobody left the laboratory.

"Let’s call it a day. Ro wasn’t built in a day; don’t wear yourselves out," Zhang Lingying, holding the newly arranged docunts, walked over to Qin Nanyu to remind him.

She handed him the docunts and began removing her lab coat.

"Are you free tonight? Want to grab dinner together? I have so questions about the experint I’d like to discuss," Zhang Lingying hung up her coat and turned to ask Qin Nanyu.

She had originally suggested staying at the Qin Family Villa to get to know more about Qin Nanyu and to facilitate academic discussions.

Yet, unexpectedly, Qin Nanyu had her move into his villa while he moved out.

Zhang Lingying now found that she had to schedule an appointnt if she wanted to see him outside the lab.

"I don’t have ti tonight. Whatever questions you have, we can discuss them in the lab tomorrow," Qin Nanyu glanced at his watch, turned off his computer, and got up from his seat.

He instructed everyone else to go ho early to rest, then stepped out of the laboratory himself.

Just as he reached the door, Zhang Lingying caught up and blocked his path.

"Hey, you bring here, then leave at the villa. It’s not nice to stash away like so hidden treasure. At least explain what’s happening tonight, else how would I know if you’re just brushing off?"

Qin Nanyu glanced at her: "A date."

Zhang Lingying: "..."

By the ti Qin Nanyu went to the file room to find the person he wanted to go on a date with, he discovered his date had already left.

There was nobody in the file room.

He called Ji Weitian, but no one answered.

He sent a ssage, but got no reply.

"Seems like your date’s not happening tonight. Want to change your plans and join for so academic discussion?" Zhang Lingying hadn’t left, and seeing Qin Nanyu alone, she stepped forward and teased.

Just then, Qin Nanyu’s phone rang.

Seeing that it was a call from Ji Weitian, he answered without hesitation: "Where did you go? Ji Weitian, you’re an adult. Don’t you know that disappearing without a word is worrying?"

Before Ji Weitian could reply, he heard a child’s voice from the other end, which made him pause.

Realizing sothing, he then heard her speak.

"The shop was too busy today. My parents couldn’t spare any ti, so they asked to pick up Ruirui and Yaoyao from kindergarten."
