There was plenty of ti before the banquet began; what did Ji Mofeng want with her now?

Weitian felt sowhat perplexed yet followed the butler to the study.

Upon reaching the study’s entrance, the butler opened the door for her and let her enter alone.

Although the Ji Family’s business in T City was not as large as that of Qin Technology, it was still noteworthy, and Ji Mofeng was considered a prominent figure in high society.

When Weitian walked into the study, he was seated at the desk reviewing docunts.

A teacup was placed next to him, freshly brewed tea still emitting wisps of steam.

The atmosphere was very quiet.

She continued walking forward, and Ji Mofeng did not look up until he finished reading the docunt in his hand and neatly signed his na at the bottom, finally noticing another person in the room.

"How long have you been here? Why didn’t you call out to ?" Ji Mofeng raised his head and said in a deep voice.

Weitian felt sowhat at a loss for words.

This was typical of the Ji Family, adept at deflecting their own negligence onto others.

Could she say that she found it awkward to call him "Dad" and didn’t want to do it?

"The butler said you were looking for ," Weitian initiated.

At this, Ji Mofeng tossed the folder aside, a flicker of annoyance crossing his stern brow.

"You deny having no manners, yet here I am in front of you, and you don’t even call out ’Dad.’ Is this the tone a younger generation should have?"

Weitian gave him a serious look, not wanting to waste ti on such pointless argunts, and seeing that Ji Mofeng was otherwise unoccupied, she turned to leave.

"Stop!" Ji Mofeng’s voice grew even more somber as he saw her walking away and stood up from his chair to step in front of her.

"What kind of attitude is this? You don’t even offer a greeting, and at the slightest disagreent, you turn to leave. Do you even consider this your ho, do you see as your father?"

"Dad, if you called here just to hear say that, then I’ve said it now," Weitian suddenly spoke up.

Seeing Ji Mofeng paused in surprise, she slowly parted her lips again.

"As for whether I truly see you as my dad, genetically, you are my father; that’s an unchangeable fact, isn’t it?"

Weitian was very calm, her voice devoid of any emotional fluctuations, just a nearly cold statent of facts.

From her quiet deanor, one could almost hear how reluctant she was to associate with the Ji Family.

Ji Mofeng was montarily speechless.

His eyes widened, staring at her for a long while before finally backing down.

He turned and walked to a nearby bookcase, pulling out two boxes in front of Weitian.

They were exquisitely wrapped, the two pink boxes even tied up with ribbon bows.

Handing her the items, Ji Mofeng spoke, "Today is the day we officially introduce the Ji family’s young mistress. Inside are a dress and shoes the butler purchased for you. Freshen up before the banquet begins; don’t disgrace the Ji family."

After speaking, as if fearing Weitian would refuse, he sowhat forcefully placed the items into her hands, then returned to his desk to continue with his docunts.

"..."

Holding the gift boxes, Weitian remained silent, staring at them for a few seconds before finally leaving the study.

The butler was still waiting outside. Seeing her exit with two gift boxes, a smile touched his lips, "Miss, don’t take it to heart. President Ji is just like that, tough on the outside but soft on the inside. He’s actually worried you haven’t attended a banquet before and didn’t know how to prepare, but he insists it’s because he’s afraid you’ll lose face for the Ji family."
