"The experint this ti is significantly more challenging than the ones you’ve given before, with major changes in direction. I’m afraid it won’t be possible to complete it in a short period of ti."
Ji Weitian was analyzing the feasibility of the experint while looking over the data.
After a while, she reached her conclusion.
"I need ti, and probably a batch of advanced experintal equipnt. Even if all these issues are resolved, I can’t guarantee with absolute certainty that the experint will succeed. I suggest not taking this case."
"You’ve said what I already guessed, and I’ve communicated with the client as well; they don’t mind whether the experint is successful or not and have promised that they will pay the full fee even if it fails. The money has already been transferred into my account."
Leng Jian’s gentle voice ca slowly from the other end of the phone.
He was a very cautious person, always ticulously filtering through work opportunities for Ji Weitian in advance.
If the client wasn’t so sincere, he would not have accepted this job for Ji Weitian.
"Well, in that case, there’s no problem," Ji Weitian had just finished speaking and was about to ask Leng Jian about sothing else when the door suddenly sounded again.
She frowned slightly, and Leng Jian on the other end of the phone seed to have heard the knocking as well, asking,
"Is sothing the matter over there?"
"It’s nothing. The other big baby of the house is back; I’ll go have a look," Ji Weitian said with a hint of impatience, stepping toward the door.
When she opened the door, her face had already fallen, ready to ask Qin Nanyu what was up, but the next second, catching sight of the person at the door, she saw it was Ruirui.
The little guy was holding a cup of water, his delicate and handso little face looking up attentively and asking.
"Mommy, are you thirsty? I poured you a cup of water."
Ji Weitian’s heart softened, rembering that she had been busy with work since she ca back, and without saying much more to Leng Jian, she hung up the phone.
She bent down to pick up her son and kissed his little face.
"Ruirui is such a good boy."
Hearing her brother being praised, Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling, who was snuggled against the edge of the sofa, reminded her in a milky voice.
"Daddy told brother to pour the water. If mommy kissed brother, doesn’t she also have to kiss daddy?"
"..."
Ji Weitian looked up, following Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling’s gaze, and saw Qin Nanyu leaning against the door.
His tall figure was propped up against the wall with a casual hand supporting his head, his eyes full of reproach looking at her.
It was as if he was accusing her of double standards.
"Done talking?" Qin Nanyu t her gaze, stood up straight, and walked over to her.
"What did you discuss with Leng Jian?"
"..."
"You don’t have to tell what you discussed, but I think Yaoyao’s suggestion just now is pretty good; what do you think?" Qin Nanyu asked her earnestly.
For a mont, Ji Weitian couldn’t tell if he was joking or serious.
She just stared at him blankly.
Until he suddenly lowered his head, kissed her on the face, and Ji Weitian reached a hand to touch her own face, a delayed reaction surfacing as she looked up at him in surprise.
Did he actually kiss her?
Qin Nanyu defiantly retorted, "It was you who said we should respect the children’s opinions."
Ji Weitian wanted to say sothing, only to realize too late that her cheeks had shafully turned red.
Glancing at the culprit again.
Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling on the sofa covered his eyes with his chubby hands, peeking through the parted fingers, laughing like a little fox.
"Daddy and Mommy have shy faces, playing kissy in the living room!"
Ji Weitian: "???"
I did not, I didn’t, don’t talk nonsense!
