Ji Weitian didn’t go ho but stopped by the entrance of the apartnt building, leaning against the wall.

It was as if she feared that Qin Nanyu might chase after her. She carefully peeked her head out, taking a quick glance outside.

Assured that no one was behind her, she suddenly let out a sigh of relief.

The images of what had just transpired kept surfacing before her eyes, and her recently cald emotions beca tumultuous again.

Qin Nanyu’s focused gaze, filled with intense emotion, had been fixed on her... as if he were about to confess.

In that mont, Ji Weitian didn’t know why she panicked; from her toes to the crown of her head, she felt pins and needles.

She was so nervous that she was at a loss for what to do, her mind a blank slate.

Instinctively, she wanted to cover his mouth, to stop him from speaking.

It was as though she could hear her foster mother’s words ringing in her ears again: "My foolish daughter, you’re not in love with President Qin, but you must know that he likes you, right?"

Qin Nanyu... likes her...

These three words sent a thrill through Ji Weitian’s heart.

At the thought of it, she lowered her head to fish out her mobile phone from her pocket, and opened the trending searches.

Sure enough, the photos of Qin Nanyu visiting her foster parents’ snack shop with his son had been uploaded online, sparking a new round of discussion.

This ti, the focus was no longer on Qin Nanyu’s stunning beauty but on Qin Nanyu holding her hand...

"Can soone tell if I’m seeing things, is this... for real and not just an act?"

"Holding hands? Look at Young Master Yu’s eyes; it’s as if the words ’my woman’ are about to be etched onto his face!"

"Domineering netizen: I want to know everything about this woman in ten minutes!"

"Don’t even say it, I’m heartbroken over a love that just started even before the announcent of a relationship. I’ve already thought of a headline for their news—it’ll be called ’Prince ets Cinderella, the cold Young Master Yu instantly becos the hand-holding weirdo’..."

"Friend from above, aren’t you familiar with the saying ’Unlucky in love, lucky in career’? We cordially invite you to start working in our company’s PR departnt tomorrow!"

"..."

Scrolling further down, the comnts were mixed, with all sorts of opinions.

So people ca out to refute the claims, saying it was just hype generated by the program team.

Others were shipping them as a couple, and so were cursing at Ji Weitian for being shaless, suggesting she only wanted to cling to Qin Nanyu through a show and delusionally dream of marrying into wealth to transform from a sparrow to a phoenix.

So even started digging into Ji Weitian’s background...

Ji Weitian leaned on the wall, her expression sowhat dull, yet her fingers nimbly scrolled through her phone.

She looked at each uploaded photo of her and Qin Nanyu together.

Especially the one unanimously recognized where Qin Nanyu looked at her with deep affection, Ji Weitian reviewed it over and over, ten tis...

In the end, even she felt that there was sothing intoxicating about Qin Nanyu’s gaze in that photo.

Before Ji Weitian could figure out what she exactly felt for Qin Nanyu, her mobile phone suddenly received a text ssage.

It was from an unknown number.

With just four simple words: "I’m back now."

Ji Weitian frowned slightly, staring at the number for a while, with no recollection of it.

She dismissed it as spam, exited her inbox, stuffed the phone back into her pocket, and then began to move, walking as slowly as a snail.

Discovering that the spot where Qin Nanyu had parked was now empty, she froze, unable to describe the feeling in her heart, yet inexplicably feeling lost.

With her hands in her pockets, she kicked pebbles as she walked on.

It was as if she was kicking Qin Nanyu’s head with every pebble on the ground.

Without realizing it, she found herself on the street, searching for traces of him amongst the bustling crowd.
