Qin Nanyu noticed soone approaching and warily raised his eyes to look behind him.
Seeing the freshly awakened Ji Weitian, his gaze instantly softened.
He casually exchanged a few words and then hung up the phone.
"Awake?"
Qin Nanyu placed his phone on the coffee table, stood up from the sofa, and walked over to Ji Weitian.
Seeing her with a sowhat dazed expression, looking like she hadn’t fully woken up, he bent down, picked her up, turned around, and walked back to the sofa where he set her down.
"Are you hungry? Want to take you out to eat?"
Qin Nanyu stroked her hair and asked indulgently.
Ji Weitian’s thoughts were still lingering on his earlier phone call as she rolled over on the sofa and sat facing him.
"Was that He Feichen on the phone just now? What did he want from you?"
"Nothing much, he just saw the rumors online and thought I had found Dr. CC, so he specifically called to congratulate . Upon hearing I hadn’t, he assud I was deliberately keeping it from him."
These days, seeing calls from He Feichen always gave Qin Nanyu a bit of a headache.
He used to be such a reasonable person, but ever since Kali went abroad, he’s beco quite neurotic.
He keeps pestering him all day with questions, and if they disagree, he’ll start interrogating Qin Nanyu about not treating him as a brother anymore.
Normally, Qin Nanyu wouldn’t coddle him like this.
He’d simply hang up to end it.

"Did he only ask about Dr. CC and nothing else?" Ji Weitian inquired again.
Seeing her expression was off, Qin Nanyu straightened up slightly, "What’s up? I thought you didn’t like He Feichen. Why suddenly so concerned about him?"
"I’m not concerned about him; I’m just worried about Kali. You didn’t tell him Kali’s current address, did you?"
Ji Weitian guardedly eyed Qin Nanyu, trying to discern any slip from his face.
Qin Nanyu raised a hand and tapped her forehead.
"If I hadn’t agreed to Kali going abroad, she wouldn’t have left. You don’t even thank , and now you’re suspecting ?"
"You and He Feichen are brothers. I have reasons to doubt."
Ji Weitian, fearing another reproach, covered her forehead with her hand, confidently retorting.
After pondering for a mont, she still felt sothing was amiss and asked again.
"Didn’t He Feichen have a fallout with his family? How does he still have the leisure to concern himself with Dr. CC’s matters?"
Hearing this, Qin Nanyu sighed.
"Since He Feichen refused the arranged marriage, he must join the He family’s company to prevent them from troubling Kali further. He’s essentially working for the He family now. Given the He family’s extensive ventures in high-tech industries, it’s only natural for He Feichen to care about Dr. CC’s whereabouts."
Ji Weitian listened, bewildered, and asked in confusion, "The He Family already drove Kali away, yet instead of fetching her back, He Feichen starts working for them?"
"Knowing He Feichen, he’s not one to give up easily."
Qin Nanyu’s dark eyes flickered, a glint of light passed through his gaze, and his thin lips parted slightly.
"Resistance cos at a cost. If there’s no assurance of victory, enduring temporary pain, laying low while turning the enemy’s power into your own, can also be a strategy."
However, taking this path ans the results won’t be imdiate and require ticulous planning.
