Zhang Lingying stared wide-eyed in astonishnt, forgetting how she should react.

It wasn’t until Lu Jing finished kissing her, let go, and took a step back that she felt like a drowning little animal finally breaking the surface to gasp for air.

"My bad mood has nothing to do with the cat, it’s related to you." Lu Jing’s voice suddenly sounded in her ear.

There was no room for her to escape or avoid.

Zhang Lingying ca to her senses only to be thrown off balance again by those words.

Her eyes had nowhere to rest, looking left and right, but she dared not et Lu Jing’s eyes.

Lu Jing knew she needed ti to process, so he didn’t push too hard, just quietly watched her.

Watching her...

From standing to squatting down, then standing back up, walking over to the dining table, sitting down, and picking up her chopsticks to eat.

Sweet and sour ribs.

Stead fish.

Stead egg.

Stir-fried mustard greens.

And a bowl of rice.

The dishes Lu Jing made, she ate them all.

Her appetite was so big that Lu Jing worried she’d overstuff her stomach.

Once she was full, Zhang Lingying took the initiative to clear the dishes and went to the kitchen to wash them.

The sound of rushing water drowned out the surrounding noises.

Lu Jing faintly sensed sothing was off with her, but having already used up all his courage earlier, he feared any further rash action would get him thrown out by Zhang Lingying.

"ow—"

The Little Mirror also sensed the odd atmosphere and circled around Zhang Lingying, occasionally looking up at her.

No matter how many dishes for two people, it wouldn’t take long to wash them.

The Little Mirror’s ow caught Zhang Lingying’s attention.

Zhang Lingying picked it up and seriously asked, "Do you want a bath? I can bathe you."

"ow—" The Little Mirror’s curious expression instantly changed, letting out a tragic cry, it struggled out of her hands and darted under the sofa, refusing to co out.

Cats really don’t like baths.

Even little kittens.

Zhang Lingying, sowhat disappointed, stared at the foot of the sofa for a while, then found sothing else to do—conducting an experint.

She locked herself in the study.

One hour.

Two hours.

Three hours...

She didn’t co out to drink water, nor to go to the bathroom.

Lu Jing sat on the living room sofa hugging the cat; at first, he didn’t feel anything was wrong, but as ti went on, he sensed sothing wasn’t right.

He put the cat down and walked to the study door, raising his hand to knock.

Little Mirror, though afraid of being caught for a bath, slowly followed Lu Jing, glancing around the study door curiously.

Hearing the door open, both Lu Jing and Little Mirror were stunned.

One person and one cat stared unblinkingly at the crack in the door as it opened.

eting their gaze, Zhang Lingying froze for a mont, but before Lu Jing could speak, she hurriedly pushed past him and dashed into the bathroom.

She couldn’t hold it anymore!

Lu Jing: "..."

When Zhang Lingying ca out of the bathroom and wanted to return to the study, Lu Jing stopped her.

"Don’t you have anything to say to ?"

"Take Little Mirror away." Zhang Lingying said, leaving him and slipped back into the study.

Lu Jing was stunned for a second, and when he realized it, he understood that both he and the cat were abandoned.

So, after all this ti, did she choose Leng Jian?

Lu Jing reached out to block the study door from closing, just about to say sothing when Zhang Lingying’s phone rang.

The phone was on the desk, and though Lu Jing wasn’t intentionally spying, he couldn’t help but see the caller ID.

The call was from Leng Jian.
