The pre-dawn light brightened the forest and a few more birds began to chirp, their morning songs mingling with the mist in the air, fresh and pleasant.

"Catch the thief!!!"

"How co everything’s gone!!!"

"There’s a thief!!!"

A series of lantations ca from not too far away, startling the birds into flight and causing the branches to rustle ’shasha’ in the breeze.

Jiang Mian groggily opened her eyes, wondering who was wailing like banshees.

She sat up and took a look at the brightening sky outside, which quickly helped her shake off the remnants of sleep.

Wait a second?!!!

Hadn’t Fu Sichen said he would take her to watch the sunrise, so why was it fully light already?

She extended her hand to open the tent flap, and a wave of morning chill surged into her embrace.

Sss—

So cold.

Jiang Mian instinctively retreated back into the tent.

She grabbed a blanket from within the tent and draped it over her shoulders, then stepped out bare-faced into the world.

Huh??

Where was Fu Sichen?

She hadn’t seen hide nor hair of him all morning.

"Sister Jiang Mian!"

Wei Zhouchen ran over, huffing and puffing, about to tattle but stopped short when he saw that all their things were intact, unhard.

Everything was exactly as it had been the day before.

"You weren’t robbed?!!"

Jiang Mian nodded, "Seems like it, just know that soone ca yesterday, and Captain Fu caught them right outside."

"Wow!! We only had a few things, now they’ve been stripped, leaving just ."

Wei Zhouchen glared fiercely at the drone circling overhead, "How heartless!"

It would be so ti before Yu Xinting, Xiang Mo, Wu Jun, and Xie Shuanghao all made their way over.

The base camp Jiang Mian and Fu Sichen shared suddenly beca a bit crowded.

"So you’re the only ones who weren’t robbed?"

"You all got robbed?"

Director Xu’s thods were ruthlessly efficient, truly pushing us to think strategically.

Xiang Mo nodded, "Not a penny left, so tired from yesterday, slept like a log, didn’t hear a thing. If we hadn’t been sleeping in the tent, our tent and sleeping bags would have been stolen too."

The despair and exhaustion were visibly etched on everyone’s faces; the production team had dropped a bombshell.

"Why isn’t Captain Fu here?"

Jiang Mian shook her head, "Don’t know, he wasn’t here when I woke up."

Lin Chuan said with a teasing smile, "So Captain Fu slept outside yesterday?"

"Yeah," Jiang Mian even pointed at the spot where Fu Sichen had been sleeping, "Right there, and the production team ca by, I guess soone fell over, caught red-handed."

Hearing about the fall, Wei Zhouchen glanced at the drone, "Why didn’t the one stealing our stuff fall? I suggest making a louder noise next ti."

"Wow! You guys really got lucky."

"Not luck, it’s skill."

That familiar, deep voice ca from behind them.

Fu Sichen stepped over a thin rope strung between two trees, holding a bag with the production team’s label as he approached.

"Tie a rope between two trees, and you’ll know when they fall trying to sneak in. Makes it hard to steal anything."

Everyone looked as if they’d learned sothing, subconsciously glancing towards the drones circling nearby.

Staff mber: I really tied a knot.

The three staff mbers who fell: Next ti all precautions should be arranged, so it’s not just us three losing face.

Jiang Mian noticed the bag in Fu Sichen’s hand, "Captain Fu, what’s that in your hand? Don’t tell it’s from the production team?"

Fu Sichen nodded, "Yep, had nothing to do just now, went for a stroll and happened to co across them hiding things."

Director Xu in the control room was frantically pinching the space between his eyebrows.

"Did you see anyone when you were hiding things?!!"

"Didn’t see anyone, Director Xu, really didn’t."

Who could have expected Fu Sichen to be there, not only waiting and watching them hide everything but then coming right over and digging it up.

And he did it right in front of them, scooping up the earth to take their stashed items.

Director Xu was so angry he could hardly speak and waved his hand despairingly, "Fine, just find soone to issue the task notification, I’m exhausted..."

"Yes, yes, Director Xu, please take care of yourself."

Director Xu: "..."

They’re all going to be the death of .
