Jiang Mian, as the leading lady, naturally got up to congratulate Bai Yu.

Bai Yu smiled, his voice light, "I look forward to being on stage with Teacher Jiang later."

Jiang Mian smiled politely, "I hope to be as fortunate as Teacher Bai."

It wasn’t true that she wasn’t nervous. When Bai Yu was up there giving his acceptance speech, Jiang Mian clasped her hands together, suppressing the anxiety within.

Luo Ting stood backstage, watching the fleeting shots on the director’s screen, and felt a bit nervous too. "Jiang Xiaomian is nervous too."

The screen on stage switched, introducing each nominee for Best Actress one by one.

The presenter, a seasoned veteran actress, opened the envelope, her smile amiable as she glanced around at the audience.

Jiang Mian’s hands involuntarily tightened.

"The Best Actress award goes to—"

"Let us congratulate Guan Xinyu."

The audience erupted into enthusiastic applause.

Jiang Mian let out a small sigh of relief, a fleeting look of regret vanishing from her beautiful eyes as she quickly regained her composure.

She chuckled softly, looking down.

It was indeed a bit far-fetched to think she could win the award.

At the very least, the actress standing on stage was outstanding, having starred in no less than ten plays, definitely a top-tier leading actress in the entertainnt circle.

It made sense that Jiang Mian didn’t win.

After the award ceremony, since the "Floating Life" crew had swept the awards, He Lei suggested they have dinner together to celebrate.

Everyone agreed.

He Lei walked over to Jiang Mian and whispered, "It’s okay. With only two IP dramas under your belt and such good results, give it ti. You’ll stand in a higher place, not just limited to Best Actress."

Jiang Mian nodded lightly, her dark, lustrous eyes sparkling beautifully, "Yes, thank you Director He."

They were all words of comfort, and Jiang Mian took them to heart.

At the celebration dinner, Jiang Mian drank quite a bit and stood up alone to get so fresh air on the balcony.

"Sister Mianmian, Sister Mianmian, it’s cold outside, let’s go inside."

Yangyang, seeing Jiang Mian staggering a bit, quickly ca up to support her.

When the news broke, Luo Ting imdiately took Jiang Mian’s phone away, fearing that the young lady might not think straight and look up all sorts of ssy comnts online.

Stepping on soone to elevate oneself is quite common in the entertainnt circle.

Especially given Jiang Mian’s current popularity, those against her would not miss a chance to trample on her as they passed.

"I’m not drunk at all! It’s too hot, I don’t want to wear it!"

Jiang Mian spoke as she removed the cloak Yangyang had brought for her.

"Teacher Jiang, you’re drunk."

A warm voice ca from behind, possibly more magnetic due to a bit of alcohol.

He took off his suit and was about to drape it over Jiang Mian when the woman agilely dodged and laughed with a sly and innocent sparkle in her eyes, "Nope~"

"My husband..."

"Hey!"

Yangyang instinctively stepped forward and covered Jiang Mian’s mouth, "Sister Mianmian, you’re drunk."

She could cause so much trouble.

If she spoke any more, the secret of her secret marriage might not stay secret.

Bai Yu, watching the odd interaction between Jiang Mian and her assistant, was sowhat puzzled, "Teacher Jiang, what you just said..."

"It’s nothing. Sister Mianmian talks nonsense when she’s drunk."

Yangyang, making sure Jiang Mian had cald down, cautiously let go of her.

Really afraid that this young lady would blurt out too much and give away her secrets.

Jiang Mian’s clear eyes sparkled faintly, her voice unconsciously softer, "I’m not talking nonsense. It’s all true! I really am—"

Yangyang knew how Jiang Mian acted when drunk—without soone to hold her back, she definitely would have caused a scene.

Seeing this, Bai Yu stepped forward to help, but a low voice ca from behind, "Jiang Mian."
