The room gradually quieted down, and everyone slowly drifted off to sleep.

"Ding—"

A piercing bell rang throughout the nightti base, persisting for a long ti.

Lights quickly lit up in each dormitory.

"All new recruits, assemble at the training ground downstairs within three minutes!"

Jiang Mian covered her ears and sat up.

Fu Sichen!!!!

Damn it!!!

I’m really angry!!!

Lady Jiang Mian had a bit of a temper when waking up, especially when called upon at this hour.

"If it’s less than three minutes, everyone will be punished with running and squatting!"

Three people initially wanted to linger in bed longer, but they hadn’t expected the instructor to be so ruthless, so they still got up shakily and hurried downstairs to the training ground.

By the ti everyone had gathered, several minutes had passed.

Fu Sichen’s face did not look good as he held a stopwatch, scanning the group with disheveled hair and mismatched clothing.

"It was a three-minute assembly, and now seven minutes have passed!"

"With you all like this going into battle, the enemy would steal our hos before you’d even woken up."

At this mont, Jiang Mian was inwardly cursing at Fu Sichen to death, exhausted.

"In the military, you should always be ready to assemble, not just think about sleeping peacefully at night. From now on, I’ll call assemblies periodically at night, so everyone be prepared."

"Today! Not a single newcor was on ti!"

"Jiang Mian!"

"Here."

Although Jiang Mian responded, she didn’t look directly at Fu Sichen.

Damn it!!

Stupid man!!

Seriously harsh!!!

"Thirty seconds late! Do 30 frog jumps and additionally, run 3 laps as punishnt."

Jiang Mian didn’t respond to Fu Sichen but started doing frog jumps, clutching her head.

"Yu Xinting! 35 seconds late, 35 frog jumps, and run 3 laps as punishnt!"

"Xiang Mo..."

"Wu Jun..."

...

One by one, Fu Sichen announced each person’s punishnt ti, each differing from the others.

In the shadowy training ground, figures ran past under the cold blowing wind, a desolate chill filling the air.

"Damn! If I had known, I wouldn’t have co, enduring training all day long!"

Wei Zhouchen chose to walk instead of run during his fourth lap, cursing as he went.

Upon seeing this, Fu Sichen blew his whistle, "Wei Zhouchen, add a lap for walking."

Wei Zhouchen remained indifferent, continuing his walk without any intention to run.

Just as he passed by Fu Sichen, the latter pulled him over sharply, "Wei Zhouchen! Obedience is the most basic quality of a soldier, what are you doing now!"

Wei Zhouchen shook off Fu Sichen’s hand, "I’m not a soldier, I’m quitting. Do whatever you want, who trains people in the middle of the night, calling us at one in the morning!"

"Now with frog jumps and running penalties, we’re even wearing slippers! How are we supposed to run like this!"

Fu Sichen covered his arm, "Since you’re here, be responsible for your own choices. Stand here and watch run!"

"What’s going on, why is Captain Fu running?"

Jiang Mian turned towards Xiang Mo’s voice and saw that Fu Sichen was already running towards them and quickly outpaced them.

"Don’t look, keep running. Don’t rest until you finish."

Jiang Mian watched the man ahead, feeling an indescribable sensation inside.

Had Fu Sichen gone mad? His hand was injured, yet he was showing off his strength.

By the ti Lin Chuan arrived and saw what was happening, he imdiately grabbed Wei Zhouchen by the collar, "Are you crazy? Captain Fu is running your penalty laps!"

Wei Zhouchen felt a montary pang of guilt but still pretended to be righteous, "That’s his choice, he does this to us every day."

"He got injured during a mission this afternoon!"

After shouting, Lin Chuan ran towards Fu Sichen and stopped him, "Captain Fu, let do it, you should rest."

"No need, it’s the last lap, I’ll finish running."

As Jiang Mian finished her three laps, she looked at the troubled Lin Chuan and then towards Fu Sichen, "Instructor Fu... Fu Sichen, you’re injured, your health is more important. Don’t run."

He really pushes himself too hard.

"Lin Chuan, let go, that’s an order!"

Reluctantly, Lin Chuan let go.

Fu Sichen started running again, and Lin Chuan had already gone to get the dical kit.

Jiang Mian watched the distant figure, her heart inexplicably tightening...
