In May, Su City was draped in continuous rain, the air thick with a damp mist.

The indoor light was extrely dim.

Black suits and white gowns intertwined, scattered ssily across the expensive carpet, stretching to the central large bed.

A corner of the pure white duvet was lifted, revealing a large patch of pink stains, a distinctly jointed hand with slightly bulging veins covering the last hint of bright color.

The man reached out to wipe the tear at the corner of the woman's eye, his voice clear and deep, "Mianmian, just bear with it a bit longer..."

Jiang Mian was about to curse out loud!

"Ring—"

Jiang Mian's long lashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes, tears lingering at the corners, her expression dazed as she lazily scanned the surroundings.

It turned out to be a dream...

Her gaze landed on the vibrating phone on the coffee table, and she answered, "Hello?"

"Is your husband back?"

The person on the other end of the line imagined a whole drama upon hearing Jiang Mian's voice.

Jiang Mian almost rolled her eyes, settling into a more comfortable position, "Put away your dirty thoughts. Miss Su doesn't call without good reason. What is it?"

Su Lixing, having been exposed, no longer pretended and excitedly said, "I've set up a ga today, co to the usual place to play. I've invited lots of cute guys, you've been a vegetarian for too long, be careful not to lose your charm and passion."

Jiang Mian looked down at her freshly done nails, her voice lazy, "I don't have love, where would the loss of charm co from?"

"Co on, are you coming?"

Jiang Mian glanced at the ti and agreed, "See you in a bit."

Two hours later, the nightclub's private room was bustling.

When Jiang Mian arrived, she was genuinely startled by the scene before her; there were several handso young n.

It seed that aside from her and Su Lixing, everyone else was a man.

"Su Lixing, only you can handle so many n."

Jiang Mian sipped the red wine on the table, the dim lighting of the bar accentuating her slightly arched eyebrows and beautiful, dark, clear eyes. Her wavy hair naturally exuded an alluring charm.

Su Lixing had drunk quite a bit and let loose, "As your best friend, I'll share so with you, the quality is absolutely guaranteed."

Jiang Mian glanced around at the circle of n, her red lips curving slightly, "Then tell , which ones are for..."

"Police raid!"

Suddenly the door of the private room was kicked open, and five or six n in plain clothes surged in. Jiang Mian's words were stifled.

The leader flashed a badge, "Police."

!!!

Police??

Jiang Mian stood up, looking innocently at the group of people, "I'm not sure what we've done wrong to cause such a commotion, officer."

She nudged Su Lixing, who was slightly tipsy and still lying down.

"You are reported to be involved in an illegal assembly. Take them all!"

Ten minutes later, the group was squatting in the station.

"Na."

"Jiang Mian."

The officer recording in the notebook repeated the na a few tis, feeling it sounded familiar but couldn't recall why.

Jiang Mian wished she could change her na right then; she'd definitely be trending tomorrow. If her family found out, they'd surely drag her back in disgrace.

She slightly raised her eyes, wanting to stand up to defend herself, "Officer, I..."

"Stay squatting, did I say you could stand up?"

"Relative's na and phone number, we will call them to co over."

What, a relative?

Who could she find at this hour?

Jiang Mian's mind raced, then an idea struck, "Can my husband do, although I can't reach him right now..."

After all, that man had been missing for a year, perfect to take the bullet for her.

"Your husband, you can't reach him?"

"That's right, officer. He works in a confidential unit, and I, as his spouse, must fully support him. After all, contributing to the country is an honorable thing, just like you!"

Jiang Mian caught the recording officer's eye and blinked innocently, speaking passionately and intelligently, leaving the officer speechless.

That should have fixed it.

Indeed, Fu Sichen was useful at tis like these.

Before Jiang Mian could enjoy a mont of relief, a familiar and deep voice ca from above, "What's going on?"
