"Who is this? Ansel Gallagher? You’re Zane’s bodyguard, right? Go wait outside, this is a room full of won, it’s not convenient to talk here." Ruby Walsh didn’t give him a chance to explain, muttering to the doctor beside her: "Zane is kind-hearted, Ansel is handso, but you know, he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed..."

"..." Faye Ellison clicked her tongue.

"Aunt, he..." Sophia Lowell wanted to say sothing.

Ruby Walsh hurriedly pushed him out, "Good child, you shouldn’t co along for these kinds of things next ti; girls can be shy."

The door was closed.

"..." Faye Ellison sighed.

Truly, one becos red by being with vermilion, and black by being with ink, remarkable.

Following Ruby Walsh’s suggestion, Sophia Lowell was admitted to the hospital.

Autumn Lowell and Zoe Walsh arrived within half an hour.

Faye Ellison had no chance to get closer, so she went to get herself checked up. The results ca out—nothing was wrong.

Seeing that Sophia was surrounded by The Sterling Family, Faye Ellison left the hospital.

After dropping off Hugh Irving, Ansel Gallagher arrived at the hospital, waiting at the entrance.

"Ansel, next ti you’re doing sothing, make sure to call when no one’s around Sophia, don’t let those n outside take advantage, got it?!" Ruby Walsh gently advised.

"Got it, Aunt." Ansel Gallagher nodded.

"How could the elevator suddenly malfunction?" Zoe Walsh frowned.

A newly installed elevator shouldn’t be this bad, especially since it undergoes regular checks and maintenance; there shouldn’t be any issue with the current technology.

Plus, it was a small elevator, and the floors weren’t that high.

"Luckily no one was hurt." Autumn Lowell sat by the hospital bed.

Fortunately, Faye Ellison was there to protect her; otherwise, sothing unexpected might have happened.

She kept these thoughts to herself.

"The doctor said she just needs to rest and be observed for two days; if everything’s fine, she can go ho." Sophia Lowell reassured.

She didn’t want to lie there being taken care of like that.

Ruby Walsh ca in from outside, "There’s so bleeding, but not much. The baby is stable, nothing serious, but you still need plenty of rest these days. Best to stay in bed and avoid emotional fluctuations."

"Mm." Sophia Lowell nodded.

After a long day, she was tired and soon fell asleep.

The room fell silent.

Outside the door, Zane Sterling stood quietly. Once she was sound asleep, he carefully went in.

He gently stroked the woman’s cheek, his big hand reached under the blanket, resting on her small belly, then leaned down, pressing a burning kiss on her forehead.

His eyes were firm and tender, like a ray of warm winter sun, gentle yet strong, filled with love in his gaze.

He dared not stay too long.

Aunt Sutton ntioned her sleep had been poor lately; she often got up in the middle of the night for water.

He squeezed her small hand, tying a red string on her wrist, then quietly left again.

Zane Sterling left, and the door was gently closed.

Sophia Lowell turned over, back facing the door, slightly opening her eyes.

Clear eyes opened, tears slipped over her nose, falling into the pillow, spreading a dark stain that disappeared into the cotton fabric.

Her forehead seed to still carry the warmth of his kiss.

She touched her lower abdon, murmuring, "That’s your dad, did you feel him?"

Her lips slightly curled, but then fell into silent sobs.

If only nothing had happened, how wonderful everything would be!

anwhile, Tim Sawyer sat in the corner of a secluded café, waiting in vain for Sophia Lowell to appear. Her slightly wrinkled hand clenched into a fist, biting her back teeth tightly, eyes under the duckbill cap turning fierce.

Why didn’t Sophia show up?

She should be angry!

What woman could endure such a grievance?

Did she see through sothing?

Tim Sawyer lifted a cold cup of water, sipping it nervously, fingers turning pale around the glass.

She was considering the pros and cons of the situation.

She had always thought Sophia Lowell would be furious and co to take it out on Tim Sawyer.

Sophia had always been like that: holding grudges and never letting go.

But she didn’t show up this ti.

What exactly is Sophia Lowell planning?

She hasn’t chosen to divorce Zane Sterling, nor to leave the villa, but continues to work as usual, seemingly unaffected by anything except eting Zane.

Who is she really?

Tim Sawyer swallowed hard, struggling to calm her mind.

Ever since she’d escaped from Ethan Sinclair, she’s been hiding like a criminal in a dingy rental in a dark alley, creeping carefully even to step outside.

And Zane Sterling, he didn’t seem to care.

Why?

She stayed in the café for another half an hour, but Sophia still didn’t show up.

She finally returned to her shabby rental.

She didn’t notice the man in a black jacket and cap following her.

As she opened the door to enter, it was blocked from behind.

In an instant, the door opened, and a man pinned her behind it, covering her mouth tightly.

"Click." The door was locked.

Tim Sawyer was engulfed by the tall man, her hands pinned behind her, trapped between him and the door.

"Don’t speak," the man’s voice was gentle, "if you don’t want anyone to find out."

Tim Sawyer’s trembling eyelids fluttered, recognizing the man’s voice.

She stopped struggling.

Only then did the man slowly release his grip.

In the dim light, Tim Sawyer gradually made out the man in front of her.

It was Leon Lynn.

"How did you know I was here?" Tim Sawyer was dissatisfied, pushing the man aside and walking into the living room.

"It wasn’t hard to find you."

Leon Lynn said, taking off his cap, lowering his head, gazing into the dimly lit room.

His brow furrowed, teeth gritting, hands resting on the worn sofa.

"Did you co to watch my misery?" Tim Sawyer snorted, picking up a rusty stainless steel cup to pour herself a drink.

Leon Lynn stepped forward, taking her cup and tossing it into the sink.

"Are you crazy, Leon Lynn?" Tim Sawyer lashed out, pushing him away.

Leon Lynn grabbed her hands, pulling her into an embrace.

"Why do you think I ca to find you?" Leon Lynn pressed, holding her hand tighter.

"Let go!"

"You can shout louder!"

"What do you want?" Tim Sawyer glared, eting his dark gaze.

"Blaming Mr. Sterling with my child, don’t you think that’s unfair to ?" Leon Lynn stared unblinkingly into her beautiful but dim eyes.

"..." Tim Sawyer paused, "Do you know what you’re saying?"

"I know what I’m saying, I wasn’t drunk that night, I did it on purpose. Do you want to see proof?" Leon Lynn took out his phone.

"Ah!" Tim Sawyer hamred his chest frantically.

She felt exposed, caught in her sha.

She couldn’t even recall why she ended up on a bed with Leon Lynn. They had clearly agreed at the café to go their separate ways, but then she realized her period ca, stopping her from taking the pill, and she ended up pregnant the next month.

Her plan with Faye Ellison never included this but she wanted to do it.

But Zane Sterling had changed.

Recently, she felt Zane had already found her; even though he hadn’t taken action, it was enough to terrify her.

She kept hearing knocks at midnight, followed by people everywhere she went, even random harassnt on the streets.

Her ntal defenses were collapsing.

Better to face his wrath head-on than be under constant surveillance.

She couldn’t sleep, becoming a zombie, living neither as a human nor a ghost.

She stopped resisting.

Leon Lynn ultimately didn’t unlock his phone, instead pulling her tightly into his embrace.

"Don’t do anything stupid, Sawyer. You know I ca back from overseas for you, I joined Mr. Sterling’s company for you, and when I got in, you had left. I’ve liked you for a long ti, Sawyer."

"Leave."
