The next day.
Sophia Lowell had yam porridge, while the other side still had shrimp dumplings.
But this ti they looked much better than yesterday.
"Does it taste okay? Or is there anything that needs adjusting?" Aunt Sutton asked with a smile.
Sophia Lowell shook her head, "No adjustnt needed, it tastes good. Tomorrow I want to drink soy milk, and if possible, I’d like to have so buns."
Aunt Sutton rembered it.
After breakfast, Ansel Gallagher drove Sophia Lowell to the studio.
*
Zane Sterling woke up in the CEO office at the Sterling Group headquarters.
The glass door that was broken yesterday had been replaced with a new one today.
Everything was complete here; behind was a large suite, along with a bar and kitchen, and on the other side was the office area.
He washed his face, using a towel as he held his phone looking at the ssage Aunt Sutton sent him.
"Buns," he muttered to himself.
He couldn’t make buns.
He put down the phone, and there was a knock on the door.
"Mr. Sterling, Dr. Wallace is here," Harry Langley waited outside.
Zane Sterling walked over to open the door wearing shorts.
At the door was a handso tall man, followed by a few younger doctors.
Among them was a woman with light makeup, who looked very similar to Jonah Wallace, while the others had no makeup, only she looked sowhat distinctive.
She was probably Dr. Wallace’s daughter, Cecilia Wallace, that Zane Sterling vaguely rembered.
Jonah Wallace used to be a military doctor, and back then was Zane Sterling’s attending doctor, now he should also be in his fifties.
"I was quite surprised to get your call," Jonah Wallace said with a stern face, his na matched his persona, imposing and stern.
Zane Sterling didn’t say much, "Co in."
He didn’t wear a shirt, and as he turned inside, everyone behind saw the injury on his back.
"You’ve retired, but the injuries haven’t lessened," Jonah Wallace quipped.
"So, I invited Dr. Wallace to have a look," Zane Sterling sat on a chair beside him.
"How did it happen?" Jonah Wallace walked over and checked the wound.
The wound wasn’t problematic anymore, starting to scab slowly, as long as he kept applying ointnt, avoiding sweating or soaking, it should heal soon.
"I annoyed my wife, and she beat ," Zane Sterling chuckled.
"..." Everyone paused for a mont.
This woman really used force, wasn’t this dostic violence?
A tough guy, beaten by a woman like this, if this got out, it would indeed be quite laughable.
"Your wife is quite formidable."
"She didn’t hit ; she was angry, and my family took turns hitting ."
"..." Everyone paused again.
It seed that his wife had quite a high status.
Everything was ready, Zane Sterling lay on the bed, Jonah Wallace noticed the bruises on his knees.
"Were they planning on breaking your leg?"
"Probably, but they didn’t," Zane Sterling tugged at his lips.
Jonah Wallace scoffed coldly, "What kind of monstrous thing have you done, to have your family take turns beating you? It’s quite unheard of."
For Zane Sterling to have a chance to be beaten without retaliating?
"Stop asking, just hurry up, I have to make buns to appease my wife," he quietly closed his eyes.
Unexpectedly, the man who once dominated the military camp was now tad by a woman.
Jonah Wallace nodded, saying, "This is my daughter Cecilia Wallace, she’s been with these past two years. Knowing you don’t use female doctors, she’s here today just to learn; does she need to step out?"
Zane Sterling slightly lifted his eyes for a glance.
"Hello, I’m Cecilia Wallace." Cecilia Wallace slightly nodded, giving a gentle smile.
"Step out; I don’t want new injuries," he closed his eyes again.
Jonah Wallace nodded, gestured to Cecilia Wallace, who pursed her lips, exited, and closed the door.
They stayed inside for over half an hour before coming out.
A male doctor was applying ointnt to Zane Sterling’s back.
Jonah Wallace said, "The knee is sowhat damaged, but it doesn’t affect much. Pay attention from now on, don’t provoke your wife. Otherwise, your knee won’t be spared."
Zane Sterling has his legs checked by him every year, although this year was quite early.
After kneeling in the ancestral hall for so ti, along with the weather, his legs felt slightly off, but today after checking, there wasn’t much issue, and he felt relieved.
"Okay," Zane Sterling smirked.
"Find a ti to co by my place for a scan."
"Alright."
Jonah Wallace prescribed so dicine for him, left ointnt for scars, and after so instructions left.
Jonah Wallace and his party walked openly out of the company’s main gate, the passersby all avoided them, and not half an hour later, the rumor about the CEO’s leg condition resurfacing spread within the company.
There were already people saying he couldn’t do it, saying he wouldn’t last long, saying after his old condition resurfaced, he might spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair; others said he was dostically abused, saying the CEO’s wife was a two-hundred-pound madwoman, a violent maniac...
Various versions were flying everywhere.
"Mr. Sterling, do you need clarification?" Harry Langley was sweating nervously.
Zane Sterling didn’t change his clothes, still shirtless, wearing slippers wandering in the CEO office.
Harry Langley saw Zane Sterling being so laid-back for the first ti, like a countryside loafer.
"No need," Zane Sterling responded indifferently, "Has the chef arrived?"
"Yes," Harry Langley quickly called to let him up.
Lately, Zane Sterling hadn’t been handling much business, spending more ti researching recipes.
The chef arrived, bringing ingredients.
Throughout the whole day, Zane Sterling stayed in the kitchen, the entire secretary team couldn’t leave, not much work had been done, just eating the buns made by Zane Sterling himself in the secretary room.
They were about to throw up.
Nevertheless, later, Zane Sterling sent a two-thousand al stipend in the secretary group.
Early the next morning, Sophia Lowell had fragrant buns.
"I made a few flavors; you see which one you like, you can take so for later," Aunt Sutton smiled as she brought the buns from the pot.
Sophia Lowell nodded, in her impression, buns were just like that, not picky.
But when she bit into one, she discovered that today’s buns were not quite the sa as usual, this was a sweet vermicelli bun; it was her first ti eating a sweet vermicelli bun.
"What’s in this filling?" Sophia Lowell pointed at the bun beside her.
Aunt Sutton couldn’t answer, "Try it and you’ll know."
She quickly finished the bun in her hand, picked up another one to try, it was a sauerkraut bun.
As if discovering a new world, she ate several in a row.
Vermicelli buns had salty, spicy, and sauerkraut ones had sweet and spicy.
She took a sip of soy milk, "Aunt Sutton, your cooking skills are getting better and better!"
She sighed, thankfully she hadn’t moved out, or she wouldn’t be eating such delicious als.
Thinking of this, she instantly lost her appetite.
Previously, Zane Sterling would always sit across from her, accompanying her to breakfast, she would always unconsciously gaze at that amazing face.
Aunt Sutton smiled, "As long as you like it. What do you want for lunch? I’ve learned a lot of new dishes, I’ll make them and send it over."
"Can I?" Sophia Lowell looked up.
"Of course you can!" Aunt Sutton smiled, "Whatever you want to eat, send it to , I’ll make sure you’re satisfied!"
Sophia Lowell smiled with pursed lips.
That way, she wouldn’t encounter embarrassing situations like yesterday.
