Sophia Lowell ca out, and it was already noon.

Tim Sawyer watched her leave with a smile, but as soon as the door closed, his smile disappeared.

Replacing it was a pale, cold expression.

The pain of losing a mother, the hatred of losing a husband!

How could she possibly let it go?

Sophia Lowell carefully took Zane Sterling’s hand as she found him leaning against the door outside.

"Let’s go."

Zane Sterling squeezed her hand tightly; it was the first ti she had so naturally taken the initiative.

He caressed her soft, tender palm all the way until they returned to the car, reluctant to let go.

As soon as she got into the car, Sophia Lowell received a ssage from Aurora Rhodes.

[You and Zane got married?]

[Uh-huh.]

Looks like the news had spread to Aurora Rhodes as well.

Last night’s banquet incident involving her mother was likely exaggerated and relayed to Aurora Rhodes.

[Sis, you can’t go on like this, the whole circle is now saying Zane is keeping a mistress. You may not care, but he does, which makes embarrassed as well.]

Aurora Rhodes felt mortified; how awkward she had been at the ti, confronting the main party without knowing who she was.

All because Sophia Lowell didn’t want to go public, even in talks with Aurora Rhodes’s mother, and Zane Sterling was silent.

Sophia Lowell pursed her lips, glanced over at Zane Sterling who’s driving.

Zane Sterling sensed her gaze, glanced aside, and asked, "What’s up?"

"Nothing."

She lacked the courage to ask, but felt he would definitely be angry.

Last ti when she was unwell and called Faye Ellison, he was angry for a long while.

——

In a secluded lighthouse by the sea.

Zeke Lowell sat on a black chair, legs spread apart, holding a cane in his hands, his wrinkled eyebrows staring at the man before him.

Nancy Sawyer kneeled in front of Zeke Lowell, quivering with fear.

Beside him, two bodyguards held onto clubs, yet had not started, but had already frightened him.

"I can’t believe you had such capability!" Zeke Lowell reprimanded.

His chest trembled, jaw clenched tight, wishing to tear him apart imdiately!

"I’m sorry, uncle, I got possessed. I truly never thought Autumn Lowell would just leave..." Nancy Sawyer confessed.

But Zeke Lowell found it laughable.

"You already have one, yet you can’t be satisfied, you aim at my daughter! Today, saving your leg might not be an option!"

Nancy Sawyer was shocked, raised his head, and crawled towards Zeke Lowell.

The two bodyguards beside him stopped his advance.

"Uncle! Please, if I lose my leg, your niece will be saddened! If she learns you’ve dealt with her dad like this, she’d hate you!"

"Hate? Heh—" Zeke Lowell lifted Nancy Sawyer’s chin with his cane, "I bet she hates you more! Today at the hospital, did she even glance at you?

You abandoned wife and daughter, neither giving nor receiving honor, worthless! Having a father like you is a disgrace!"

Nancy Sawyer wept and cried, "I failed them, I’m willing to spend my life making ands..."

"Life? How many years do you think you have left?" Zeke Lowell waved his hand.

The bodyguards behind Zeke Lowell stepped forth, while those with clubs retreated slightly.

"Dad! You can’t do this! Dad!"

"Don’t call dad! I don’t buy this crap! Today, I’ll take your leg, if my daughter doesn’t return, wait until spring and take care of yourself, I’ll personally co for the other leg!"

Nancy Sawyer scread for help.

"Shut up!" Zeke Lowell.

The bodyguard beside him casually picked up a cent-stained rag off the floor and stuffed it into his mouth.

Several n pinned him down.

Nancy Sawyer struggled, stirring up clouds of dust on the ground.

"Break his leg, don’t do it too thoroughly, when he’s almost healed, I’ll do it again! Until my daughter returns!"

Zeke Lowell spat, stood up, and walked towards the car by the roadside.

The year Nancy Sawyer forced Autumn Lowell, she ran away from ho and has never returned.

Eversince, there was no news.

They once thought Autumn Lowell couldn’t bear the blow of Nancy Sawyer’s marriage and was no longer among the living.

Unexpectedly, it’s all this scumbag’s doing!

For over twenty years, Zeke Lowell had climbed from small tradesman to the pinnacle of the internet industry.

Destroying him would take just minutes!

In the car, with closed doors and windows, Zeke Lowell could still hear the distant muffled cries.

Zeke Lowell took out his phone, looked at Sophia Lowell’s picture, and rembered the earlier scene at the hospital.

He smiled slightly.

This granddaughter, looking gentle and refined, but far more fierce than he imagined.

——

Zane Sterling sat across from Sophia Lowell, dipping the hot pot, placing freshly cooked beef tripe into her bowl.

"Eat more."

Sophia Lowell nodded, hesitated, "Zane Sterling, you..."

"What did you call ?" Zane Sterling squinted slightly.

"..." She pressed her lips, "Zane..."

"Yes, go on." He laughed lightly.

Sophia Lowell could clearly see the faint smile on his lips, and the brief playful look in his eyes.

For a long ti, she was still imrsed in the shyness of calling him Zane, unable to recover.

"I don’t recognize Nancy Sawyer, is that heartless?" she finally asked.

Zane Sterling looked at the woman before him, she seed like she was trapped in so swamp, struggling to get out.

Though outwardly calm, inside was already a tumultuous storm.

She was like a sailboat drifting uncertainly at sea, unable to find her shore.

She feared, feared sinking into the ocean, feared being trapped at sea, never reaching her destination.

Zane Sterling reached out, held her cold hand on the table.

"For over twenty years, he’s never been a part of your life, what can he offer to talk about emotions?" He comforted, "Follow your heart, do you feel happy recognizing him?"

Certainly not happy!

She’s unhappy, Autumn Lowell’s unhappy, apart from him, everyone else is unhappy.

There could be harm, the gains not worth the losses.

"I see." She withdrew her hand and continued eating hot pot.

"Mr. Sterling! Ms. Lowell!" from a distance, Wyatt Nash, carrying seasoning plates, froze, "You two..." he was astonished.

Zane Sterling frowned, this relationship, seen as ambiguous to outsiders, indeed seed like he was keeping her.

He glanced at Wyatt Nash, but paid no attention.

His eyes carried a swift chill.

Sophia Lowell clearly felt his anger, so she took Zane Sterling’s left hand across from her and raised it together.

The two plain rings were now blatantly displayed before Wyatt Nash.

Wyatt Nash’s eyes widened.

The online rumors of the CEO getting married turned out to be true!

And the CEO’s wife was actually by his side.

Oh my, what a huge revelation he stumbled upon.

Zane Sterling’s head didn’t move, his gaze settled on their hands, then shifted to Sophia Lowell.

Her face radiated joy, unfeigned.

In her shyness, there was an undisguisable affection.

Was she willing to go public?

Or had she fully accepted it?

Zane Sterling’s heart suddenly ward, gently caressing her hand.

He slightly raised his eyes, a smile unlike any before on his face.
