Chapter 693: Mr. R (Part One)

– Land of rcenaries –

A man in his thirties with a face covered in a beard was riding in a pickup truck.

The driver asked him, “If we bump into any bandits and robbers on the road, you better cooperate with . By the way, do you have any friends in one of the rcenary corps?”

This western man said, “Yes, in the Continental rcenaries.”

“The Continental rcenaries? So do you have their tattoos? If you do, things would be much easier. The gang of robbers will not bother , and I will charge you less for the ride. It’ll be just $10K and no less than that. You must understand that we’re risking our lives driving down this road to earn so money, a lot of people die here. I could try to greet the regular robbers, give them so bribes, and they’ll let us go. But if we et those individual ones, then we would need more money.”

The man didn’t answer and asked the driver back, “Have you heard of the Deviant rcenaries?”

“Deviant? Everyone here has heard of them! But it seems that they have disbanded and disappeared,” the driver said.

“Disappeared?” The man’s brows furrowed. “So have you heard any stories of this group of rcenaries? Are they strong?”

“Very strong!” The driver smacked his lips. “You know the military drill a while ago? The M Nation soldiers were wiped out! If it wasn’t for the Deviant Corp, the winter ti on this land would have lasted much longer. So everyone still has a strong affection for the Deviant Corp, and oftentis, the groups would get into fights but never involve the Deviant Corp rcenaries, as a way to thank them. Of course, no one would want to ss with the Deviant Corp either, I heard that if you see one of their mbers in the wild, then you should stay away from them or else you’ll get yourself killed. By all ans, in years I’ve been driving down this road, I’ve actually never seen a Deviant rcenary.”

Man: “Do you recognize their symbol?”

The driver: “I don’t, and there’s no record of it at the rcenary union. Anyways, if you see any symbol you don’t recognize, just run away because it’s definitely the Deviant Corp’s symbol. We call this rcenary group here the Ghost rcenaries.”

The man nodded.

“Alright, are you here at the Land of rcenaries as a fugitive?” The driver continued saying, “Then you’ve co to the right place, a temporary governnt will be established soon, and by then you can beco a citizen with a new identity, and you will no longer be a vagabond.”

The man looked away with both eyes aloof. “For , a vagabond ans more freedom. Nationality will give the insecure ones relief, but it would only shackle .”

The driver was startled for a mont and he sighed. “Who would want to be wandering around if they could have an identity? They’ll just die without knowing who’s going to stand up for them.”

The man: “And so you think it’s safe to beco a citizen in so country? When soone is trying to kill you, only money can settle it all whether it’s lawsuits or jail ti. To be frank, money is everything in this world.”

The driver shook his head, and after he dropped the man off at the capital town owned by the Continental rcenaries, he couldn’t help but say to the man, “There are many occasions where you’ve earned the money, but you don’t live to spend it all.”

The man laughed. “Like you, for example?”

Having said that, he took a gun out of his bag and shot the driver in the head!

Chapter 693: Mr. R (Part Two)

The driver was killed on the spot.

The man retrieved his gun as he looked at the dead body and said, “I wouldn’t give you $10K! I’d rather kill one more person if I can avoid paying any money!”

He said that as he headed into the city.

He arrived at the governnt office building where he saw a steady stream of residents who were going to go in and apply for jobs, and they seed to have a high expectation for the new governnt.

An intent to kill flashed across the man’s eyes.

The recruitnt event at the governnt building did not have strong security as he arrived at the back garden of the building effortlessly, and the security here beca more strict. After all, it belonged to the soldiers, and was also where Kush’s office was.

However, this man went straight over to a soldier, grabbed him by the collar, and asked, “Where’s Kush?”

The soldiers around him imdiately pointed their guns at him.

The man simply shouted out a na, “Snake!”

Kush’s body trembled at the sound of soone calling him by that na. This was his na when he was still a kid, and there was only one person who knew it, the ntor who had trained him!

Kush stood up after snapping the pen in halves and walked outside of the office.

In the hallway outside, Xu Cheng never left, as he was planning on guarding Kush until the new governnt was established successfully. So when he saw an intruder downstairs shouting an unfamiliar na and Kush coming right out, he knew that the person Kush feared was here.

Kush placed both hands on the handrail as he looked down at the stranger below, and the man had the exact sa vibe as his ntor back then.

“Let him co up,” Kush said.

The man shrugged a soldier off and walked up the stairs.

When he passed by Xu Cheng in the hallway, he suddenly felt a powerful vibe and he turned to look at Xu Cheng’s back as if he was thinking about sothing.

He then withdrew his gaze as he walked into Kush’s office and sat down across from Kush.

He spoke directly, “You’ve broken the rules, Snake.”

Kush said, “I don’t know you, bring Mr. R to talk to .”

“If you’re still grateful, you’d better do what he orders you to do, because you’ve broken the rules already.”

Kush: “Then what do I have to do to not break the rules? Over the years, I’ve generated a total of seventy to eighty billion dollars’ worth of profit for you. Is that not enough?”

The man: “Enough? What do you think? If it wasn’t for Mr. R, where would you be now? Everything he has now was what he earned from training you, do you think it’s enough?”

Kush narrowed his eyes. “So what do you want?”

The man said, “Stop establishing a new country, and hand over two-thirds of the crude oil and minerals in the Land of rcenaries. Then you’ll be free.”

Kush beca furious. “Then I will be betraying this country! What’s the difference between doing that and being a traitor?”

The man across the room looked at him indifferently without an expression; clearly there was no room for negotiation.

He suddenly asked Kush, “During all the past training and communications with you, you’ve never had such a hard attitude. Did your teeth grow back out or you’ve found soone who can back you up? You’ve been following Mr. R, so I assu you’ve found out the force behind him, right? I think you know what you’re dealing with, and of course, the higher-ups aren’t unreasonable, being kind enough to offer you a middle ground. You can establish a governnt, but you will need to fall sick and be replaced by one of our n in power. We will pay you a certain amount to leave the country, or you can choose to go into retirent within your own rcenary corp.”

Kush: “How much money will it be?”

The man: “One hundred million dollars!”

Kush burst out laughing and the sarcasm was obvious. “I made over seventy billion dollars for you guys, and you’re offering a hundred million? It really is the capitalist way that you’re all greedy and forever unsatisfied.”

The man: “If you know how capitalists work, then you should know that offering you 100 million is more than enough.”

Kush asked him, “How should I address you?”

The man answered, “You can think of as the new Mr. R!”

Outside, Xu Cheng who was smoking a cigarette chuckled when he heard the conversation. “So R indeed indicates a codena for their rankings.”
