Aside from that, Landers heard another piece of gossip. It turns out that after Long Yi beca the king of the Stellar Realm Arena, he once accepted a challenge from a girl nad Ai Lin and went all the way to the Divine Auffa Empire to combat her. The result was that he lost to Ai Lin through rock-paper-scissors and sowhat reluctantly beca Ai Lin’s guard. Though at the ti Ai Lin appeared to have defeated Long Yi through such an almost childlike thod, according to so reliable information, in fact, Ai Lin had grasped Long Yi’s weakness. In order not to let these weaknesses beco public, Long Yi had no choice but to beco Ai Lin’s guard. However, not long afterward, right after defeating Slade, Long Yi and Ai Lin had a minor disagreent that eventually turned into a conflict. At that ti, almost everyone in the Imperial City of the Divine Auffa Empire witnessed Long Yi and Ai Lin’s battle, and nearly each person who recalled it couldn’t help but feel astonished by their terrifying strength.
After that conflict, Long Yi left the Divine Auffa Empire, and at this point, the Emperor Saint Danze of the Sanctuary Empire sent his son Saint Linde to make contact with Long Yi, promising him great benefits, which finally persuaded Long Yi to join. After joining the Sanctuary Empire, Long Yi developed a powerful set of Divine Armor for the empire; this armor could enable ordinary soldiers to possess the strength of a Seven Star Mage!
Landers couldn’t help but be astonished at the complex structure of the Divine Armor after personally seeing it, and the use of many runes and arrays inside it was beyond his imagination. He found it hard to believe that such powerful young people like Long Yi and Ai Lin had erged shortly after he had left this plane.
The deeper he delved into the matter, the more he felt the need to be cautious. However, since that girl nad Ai Lin had once defeated Long Yi, she should have so understanding of him, right? Just right, the friend who had gone to the middle plane with him had already returned to the Divine Auffa Empire. Perhaps he could start by asking him to learn about the situation.
As for Long Yi, let him enjoy a few more days of happiness.
Gridis was in a great mood. Initially, he had impulsively accompanied Landers to the middle plane, and this trip had lasted for over a decade. He had even thought at one point that he might die in that world where cosmic warships road. Fortunately, at the last mont, Landers and Gridis managed to research a spell that brought them back to their original plane through a Reverse Summoning thod.
Gridis wondered how his old friend August was doing now. Had he broken through to the Sanctuary? He had quite a few new spells to show off to August!
When Gridis stood in front of Saint Jialin, the Emperor was genuinely stunned for a long ti. It had been ten years since Gridis left, and almost everyone thought he would have died with Landers, and so when he suddenly appeared, Saint Jialin only found him vaguely familiar but couldn’t imdiately rember who this old man was.
However, August, standing behind the Emperor, quickly rembered his old friend!
"Gridis!"
August exclaid excitedly, rushing down from behind Saint Jialin and hugging his old friend.
"Uh, who are you?"
Gridis looked curiously at the young man in front of him. He seed very close to him, yet Gridis did not recognize him.
"It’s ! It’s August!" August declared loudly.
"What? You’re August! How did you beco so young!" Gridis was utterly puzzled.
It turned out that when he and Landers had left, Jenna had not yet succeeded in researching Rejuvenation magic. And in the anti, Jenna used Rejuvenation magic to amass a fortune, was killed by Long Yi, and Ai Lin redeveloped Rejuvenation magic—all of which Gridis was completely unaware of.
"Hahaha! That’s a long story! But you! My old friend! You’ve actually returned!" August’s excitent was beyond words.
Once Gridis knew the person in front of him was August, he also burst into laughter. It seed a lot had changed during the decade he was away.
At that mont, Emperor Saint Jialin also ca down from his throne. It was known that Gridis was a Master of high renown. As a purely research-oriented Mage, while his personal strength was average, many of his research results were silently advancing the progress of magic research.
Because of Gridis’s return, the Emperor exceptionally canceled the morning’s regular eting and held a not-so-grand but very warm welco banquet for Gridis in the Imperial garden. The guests were all Gridis’s friends, not nurous, but everyone sincerely congratulated Gridis on his coback. After all, Gridis was a Master of mild temperant without much pretension, and so were most of his friends.
Gridis also narrated the events of the past decade to everyone, and so of the thrilling parts elicited gasps.
August also relayed to Gridis what had happened since he left, and among them, the most earth-shattering change was Ai Lin’s joining.
Ai Lin’s might was astounding, and even more inconceivable was her mastery in magic. Not only was Ai Lin herself powerful, but she could also make others powerful. The most famous case was the Seven Star Legion of the Divine Auffa Empire. Although called the Seven Star Legion, of course, there were quite a few Six Star Mages in it, but even Six Stars were already formidable enough.
