Jenna cursed under her breath, when suddenly the ring on her hand shattered, leaving behind an identical copy of herself to continuously cast Magic Missile to block Long Yi’s assault, while the real Jenna stood to the side, desperately buffing herself with spells.
All of this did not escape Long Yi’s notice, but neither the audience nor the comntators could see what was happening. As a Neglecter, no one knew what she was actually doing.
After applying various buffing spells, Jenna swapped back with her double. She felt very distressed over her Doppelganger Ring, which was not cheap to make. Thus, she decided she must strictly interrogate Long Yi on how he managed to possess such terrifying magical skills.
But when Jenna returned to her place, she saw that the sky was filled with far fewer magic missiles than before. And Long Yi, who should have been casting Magic Missiles, had suddenly stopped and was now applying various buffing spells to himself! Jenna’s recently created double, only capable of obeying its initial command—to defend against Magic Missiles—remained defensively poised but was completely oblivious to Long Yi’s actions.
This damned bastard! How could he be so coincidentally performing buffing spells just as I did for myself? Was I discovered again? No! Impossible! This Long Yi is just a Mountain Giant, that much is certain. Although he can cast spells, his strongest aspect should still be the Mountain Giant’s skills. He could not possibly see through my Neglecter talent!
Almost simultaneously, Jenna cast another volley of Magic Missiles.
This ti, each Magic Missile was three tis larger than before! They weren’t only more potent but also much faster, and occasionally three Magic Missiles would be chained together!
As a Sanctuary Mage, Jenna wasn’t adept in combat, but her inherent strength was still there. Boosted by various spells, she imdiately launched a counterattack.
Despite not knowing how far he was from a Sanctuary Mage, Long Yi could see that he wasn’t just holding his own but might have even gained a slight advantage!
As equally massive Magic Missiles collided head-on, Long Yi maintained his terrifying speed. In the midst of the Arena, Magic Missiles continuously exploded, and the air shimred with the unique glow of unleashed Mana, even raising the brightness of the Arena by several notches.
To her astonishnt, Jenna realized that Long Yi had actually withstood her attack. Moreover, he was gradually increasing his speed! Despite it being her attack and Long Yi’s retaliation, the front line of Magic Missiles once again slowly advanced towards her! In addition to the retaliatory Magic Missiles, so were coming at Jenna from various angles! Supposed to be on the offensive, Jenna was forced to adopt a defensive stance, and just this minor shift imdiately turned her from aggressor to defender!
Jenna really started to panic this ti, because usually, when you can’t defeat an opponent, there are various reasons. But when you can’t beat another Mage in a duel of Magic Missiles, there’s usually only one reason—he’s stronger than you!
He’s stronger than ?
Jenna could hardly believe the judgnt that had just occurred to her. Long Yi was a Mountain Giant, and moreover, a warrior. And yet, he managed to overpower her, a Sanctuary Mage, in a magical duel? Could Long Yi also be a Sanctuary Mage? Impossible! If he were a Sanctuary Mage, surely the Divine Auffa Empire or the Sanctuary Empire would have recruited him by now. Why would he be in an Arena like this?
No! He is definitely not a Sanctuary Mage. He must be relying on so ans to possess such explosive power! Could it be a shard of Yu Zhou Stone? Very likely!
Jenna quickly made her assessnt and realized she couldn’t continue this senseless duel anymore. She had to use her extensive experience to defeat Long Yi!
Finally, Jenna stopped casting Magic Missiles to bombard Long Yi and instead released the Ethereal Light Shield. She let the Magic Missiles explode against the shield while she prepared a new spell within it!
"Dense Fog Spread!"
Boom, the Arena was instantly enveloped in fog.
A frown creased Long Yi’s brow; typically, fog ant that its caster was planning a sneak attack.
"Gale!"
With a loud cry from Long Yi, he cast a spell, and the gale dispersed the fog.
Then he saw Jenna running swiftly towards him, casting no spells but rely running. The Arena was quite large, and the distance was clearly taxing for Jenna, who wasn’t adept at running.
Although Long Yi could see Jenna, no one else in the Arena could, and almost every spectator and comntator was asking the sa question.
Where did Long Yi’s opponent go?
Long Yi thought for a mont, then decided to pretend he didn’t see her either. He looked vigilantly towards the other side as if searching.
Jenna ran past Long Yi, who was now with his back to her. She gasped for air violently, yet her hands didn’t stop. In an instant, her spell took form, but just then, Long Yi suddenly turned around, and a bolt of lightning struck her. The spell in Jenna’s hand imdiately dissipated, yet she endured without making a sound, while the spectators and comntators still couldn’t see her.
