Lagera felt his heart was about to stop beating. Just now, that was rely his line as the heel character, and not continuing to set up opponents for Long Yi was also for the purpose of protecting him, giving Long Yi so ti to rest. What was more important was to hype up the match for the Champion’s Night in three days.
The Champion’s Night match is a major event held once a month by this dium-sized arena; on that day all the Naless soldiers won’t be taking the stage—only the star players will be participating. The ticket prices for this match range from three to ten tis that of regular matches and is an important source of revenue for the Arena.
Lagera was just doing his job, but what he didn’t expect was that Long Yi could even take the initiative to pick up his lines!
"Then, I’ll be looking forward to your performance, Mr. Long Yi. My champions are already chomping at the bit for a chance at you!"
On a dais by the side of the Arena, more than a dozen fierce warriors stepped out one by one, their hands full of provocative gestures, while the surrounding audience erupted into loud cheers!
"Hmmm, hmmm, hahaha! These are your champions? Better wash your necks and wait because after three days, on your Champion’s Night, there will be no more champions!"
Speaking thus, Long Yi raised his fist high toward that group of champions.
The atmosphere was instantly ignited to an extre point.
When Long Yi left, Lagera imdiately found him.
"Mr. Long Yi! Mr. Long Yi! I need to confirm a few things with you!"
Lagera was very curious; he wanted to know if Long Yi was really cooperating with him, or were those words just what he’d intended to say all along?
"Mr. Lagera, you want to ask about playing along with your lines, right? I hope the words I said didn’t offend you in any way?" Long Yi asked very politely.
Lagera imdiately understood—he was dealing with a clever man! Looking into Long Yi’s eyes, his gaze was almost shining! Able to fight, intelligent, but most importantly, understanding how to follow the boss’s lead!
"I must say, Mr. Long Yi, you are the best Gladiator I’ve ever seen! I feel honored to have you fighting in my Arena, and I’ll help you finish all your fights here as soon as possible, so you can qualify to enter the four major Arenas. I will also assist you in contacting well-known Gladiator agents. I believe if you really can stand in the king’s battlefield of the Stellar Realm Arena, even an Empire like The Divine Auffa Empire will treat you with respect!" Lagera said sincerely.
"Thank you, Mr. Lagera. If I truly can enter The Divine Auffa Empire, I will certainly not forget the help you’ve given !" Long Yi said.
"No, if you really can beco the king of the Stellar Realm Arena and enter The Divine Auffa Empire, then that should be my honor indeed."
It must be said, whether it’s Bigby or Lagera, this species of people are simply too good at doing business; they have sweet mouths and know well how to judge the tis!
With three days before the match, Long Yi spent all that ti observing the fights, which were all from the four major Arenas. It had to be said, indeed the fights from the four major Arena levels were spectacular with stronger warriors. Unfortunately, during those three days, Long Yi was unable to see any champion-level fights, which he had planned to watch to get a better asure of that level.
On the fourth day, the match was set for the evening, but Long Yi spent the dayti apparently idling away in a teahouse. On the surface it seed so, but in fact, he was just listening to Little Zi report the news she and her Female Demon Avatars had gathered.
Ever since arriving at the Stellar Realm Arena, Little Zi and her Avatars had spread out to collect information. However, there weren’t many pieces of useful intelligence. The news about The Divine Auffa Empire only included one piece of gossip of dubious veracity—Saint Julio, the most notorious playboy of The Divine Auffa Empire, failed in his advances toward a young girl and ended up having his entire arm cut off by her. Initially, it was said that Crown Prince Saint Julio was rallying his enemy forces everywhere looking for that girl and vowed to kill her. But then sohow, it was rumored that Saint Julio developed a fondness for the girl. And not just him; both First Prince Saint Cassio and Saint Antonio also fell for the sa girl. The three n were engaged in a vigorous pursuit of the girl!
Such gossip wasn’t very nutritious, but it did ground Long Yi’s impression of The Divine Auffa as seeming not as daunting as before.
Furthermore, there were rumors that a prominent royal family of the Azure Sky Plane was rallying troops to suppress a rebellion by Giant Beasts.
Long Yi was puzzled as to what this news had to do with them, but Little Zi believed they would soon enter the middle Plane, so having so foreknowledge was certainly no disadvantage.
That reasoning seed to make sense.
There sat Long Yi, seemingly absent-minded in the teahouse, when soone approached him. He appeared to be a cultured individual with a sense of refinent. The two people by his side, however, had a cold deanor and unmistakably formidable strength. The teahouse owner tried to approach but was stopped by one of the attendants. A sum of money exchanged hands, and the owner promptly rolled out with a wide smile, with the surrounding custors making quick exits as well.
Clearly, the place had been booked exclusively.
