Soon, a fluctuation ca.
"You must imdiately head to the front line, the great Overlord needs more information from the front!"
Upon receiving this command, Long Yi imdiately fell to the ground.
Jokingly, there was no other reason needed, wasn’t this the opportunity?
"Uh... uh..." aningless fluctuations transmitted, Long Yi feigned addiction.
"Damn! Can these lower-level Apostles even malfunction?" that Apostle cursed. However, it imdiately rushed towards Long Yi’s location. Long Yi chose a valley on the far side of a certain Asteroid.
"Is this lower-level Apostle’s mind broken? What is it doing here?" That Worm Apostle arrived in front of Long Yi, kicked him twice, but Long Yi only made aningless grunts.
"I have never seen such a thing before, forget it, I’ll just rewrite your consciousness!" that Worm Apostle cursed while preparing to rewrite the consciousness.
But Long Yi felt sothing was off, as a Worm Apostle, its actions seed too humanized. Especially the cursing and discontent gestures, these are surely not things a Worm Apostle should be doing.
Could it be that these Worm Apostles still retain their own consciousness?
Behind that Worm Apostle, the Crystal Poison gathered by Belle was slowly spreading around the armor. Originally, Belle had discovered that people infected by Worms could be controlled through Crystal Poison, but after the appearance of Worm Apostles, those controlled by Crystal Poison were cleared. Long Yi thought to give it another try, maybe they won’t always be on guard.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before the Crystal Poison spread again.
The Worm Apostle seed to sense sothing, about to make a move. But Long Yi punched through its armor, grabbed the head of The Forgotten with one hand, Divine Power neutralizing swiftly, Long Er also arrived, and the Beam completely decomposed its consciousness.
"Indeed, these guys still retain their independent consciousness!" Long Yi exclaid with wide eyes.
Long Yi originally thought that these Worm Apostles had long lost their independent consciousness, unexpectedly, they really had it! Now they were in a special state where their own consciousness and the Worm Apostle’s consciousness were rged. Simply put, the Worm Apostle’s consciousness took a dominant position, but their own consciousness was also rged within.
No wonder, that’s why their actions were so unified, why they could construct the brainwashing device in such a short ti, it was still the sa Worms after all.
From the mories of these Worms, Long Yi learned that the Worms had secretly built brainwashing devices long ago, but because of Long Yi, they hadn’t had the chance to use them, and most were eradicated by Long Yi. The remaining Worms, in order to take refuge, had to rge with their hosts, and thus dared not think about the brainwashing device again. But now, the Worm Apostles had reclaid a dominant position, they had gained control of the brainwashing devices, so the brainwashing devices were taken out from storage and reactivated.
This information, one could not co up with it just by hypothesis.
According to this Worm Apostle’s mory, it belonged to the middle layer of Apostles, there were six High-level Apostles in the core position. It was these six High-level Apostles who controlled everything, so if Long Yi wanted to solve the troubles here, he must infiltrate them.
Now that Long Yi had figured everything out, next, it was ti to lay the groundwork for his own action.
At this ti, Belle was also not idle.
When they were initially clearing the surplus Crystal Poison, not all of it was cleared away. Belle’s understanding of Crystal Poison far surpassed these Worm Apostles. The Crystal Poison belonging to Belle had already spread among the clan of The Forgotten Ones and had successfully replaced part of the armor’s Crystal Poison composition. This was Long Yi’s trump card, which he would absolutely not use until the last mont. And now, Belle’s task was to occupy more components of the armor with her controlled Crystal Poison without drawing the attention of the Worm Apostles.
Long Yi began his secret invasion, one by one, controlling the Worm Apostles who, on the surface, still carried out their orders. Internally, however, they had been replaced by puppets controlled by Long Yi. This process wasn’t fast, as Long Yi had to choose the right mont. But since these Worm Apostles had their own consciousness, this would allow him to create opportunities through their own words.
At this ti, in the outside world, as Dragon Knights from the Human Realm gradually took up their positions, training was also unfolding.
As for what kind of warriors the Dragon Knights were, the warriors selected from the Celestial Clan really had no idea. In their view, the Dragon Clan was already a trendously powerful entity, and there was absolutely no need for sothing like a Dragon Knight.
Not just the warriors from the Celestial Clan, but the Black Dragon Elder, Slite, was also baffled. However, the White Dragon Elder, Ashton, explicitly expressed support for this proposal, saying that the Dragon Clan with its Dragon Knights would exhibit even greater strength.
This, Slite did not believe. He thought that having a person on his back would allow him to better utilize his combat capabilities.
Therefore, the White Dragon from the Human Realm, representing him and their dragons, decided to hold three competitions.
First, a one-on-one duel. A Dragon Knight from the Human Realm against a Giant Dragon chosen by Slite.
Second, a small-scale battle. Ten Dragon Knights from the Human Realm against ten Giant Dragons chosen by Slite.
Third, a large-scale group battle involving more than a thousand Giant Dragons.
In the first one-on-one battle, the combatant was a Dragon Knight from the Red Dragon Empire. Slite, in turn, sent a Red Dragon to fight, and there was no individual difference between the two sides, the only difference being the presence of the Dragon Knight.
The party with the Dragon Knight thoroughly analyzed air combat techniques, first using various magics and Dragon Breath for long-range bombardnts. When the Red Dragon side charged forward to engage in close combat, the Dragon Knight side, along with their Mount Dragon, imdiately pulled back, continuing to use Dragon Breath and magic for bombardnt. After several rounds, the opponent’s Red Dragon, exasperated, roared, "Is this the strength of you Dragon Knights? Always running away?"
"But the damage you’ve received is far more than mine," the Red Dragon carrying the Dragon Knight shouted from afar.
Indeed, the Red Dragon with a Dragon Knight was essentially like having two brains in battle. What the Red Dragon needed to do was rely launch magic attacks at the right ti, while the Dragon Knight took care of attacking, retreating, or any evasive actions. Originally, dragons aren’t a thoughtful breed, overpowering weaker races with brute strength. In battles where both sides were evenly matched, like two similar dragons fighting, it was common for both dragons to end up equally injured.
But needless to say, the observing mbers of the Dragon Clan could see it too. Although it seed sowhat cowardly, from the results, the side with the Dragon Knight indeed had the upper hand.
"Coward!" scread the solo Red Dragon, its body engulfed in fierce flas, charging forward.
"On the battlefield, there are only victors and losers, and there is only one criterion defining victory and defeat—life and death. I won, I survived, and you lost, you rely die! You’re not a coward, but it’s aningless!"
With that said, the Red Dragon with the Dragon Knight charged forward as well.
The relationship between the Human Realm’s Dragon Clan and the Dragon Knights has now developed very clearly. Since humans do not have energy, they can only assist the Giant Dragons in developing various advanced combat tactics. Although Long Yi initially taught so sophisticated aerial combat techniques, in the decades since Long Yi’s departure, the Dragon Knights’ aerial combat skills had greatly advanced. The Giant Dragons no longer saw the Dragon Knights as ’tiny creatures sitting on their heads’ but rather as ’auxiliary units aiding in combat with the Giant Dragons.’
In the Human Realm, the presence of Dragon Knights had beco popularized and even entertainnt-based, with both Giant Dragons and Dragon Knights being heavily promoted, striving to establish equal statuses with no one being superior. The battles were a cooperative effort between both parties.
’tiny creatures sitting on their heads’ and ’auxiliary units aiding in combat with Giant Dragons’—though essentially identical, psychologically they had beco quite different.
And it was precisely because of this that the Giant Dragons strove to maintain the status of the Dragon Knights.
