Yavenny gave a mysterious smile, stepped back and pulled Long Yi’s arm, affectionately nestling against his shoulder.
"Ah —— I’m going back now, little brother Long Yi. Big sister can no longer assist you, you must be very careful. If you encounter enemies you cannot defeat, don’t force yourself. There’s no sha in admitting defeat —— getting yourself killed just to prove your bravery, now that’s shaful." Yavenny advised.
"Don’t worry, I’m a warrior, not a martyr. I understand that preserving myself is how I destroy my enemies." Long Yi replied with a laugh. He was very appreciative of others’ kind intentions.
"Good, I was afraid you’d be headstrong and act impulsively." Yavenny raised her fingertip, tapped Long Yi’s forehead, and her ample chest rubbed against Long Yi’s arm.
However, the mont Yavenny tapped Long Yi’s forehead, the dragon rune imprint inside his brain disappeared. Long Yi felt a mont of dizziness before quickly regaining his senses.
"I just wiped all the imprinted traces from your brain, and also cast a ntal protection spell on you, to protect you from any foreign invaders. Of course, the downside is that you can no longer use the dragon language you had previously imprinted. But when it cos to learning, it’s best to go step by step."
Yavenny winked at Long Yi, saying.
Long Yi felt it. Indeed, the sense of inexplicable mastery over the dragon language had disappeared. But, for so reason, his brain felt oddly lighter.
"Alright, alright, seeing you one last ti before leaving, I’m satisfied. So, I’m off now!" Yavenny said, her form slowly fading away.
"Wait, tell , why am I so important to you?" That was Long Yi’s biggest question. If Tyl was right, Yavenny and her sister Yamir were almost at the pinnacle of power. Why would such individuals be interested in ?
Yavenny’s eyes revealed an interesting look, and then, a sentence only Long Yi could hear echoed in his ear.
"Aren’t you curious why, in this world, you are the only Giant?"
Watching Yavenny gradually disappear, Long Yi was stunned.
"Only, ?"
This is a world of multiple races, but he’s never seen another Giant aside from himself. Long Yi always thought it was because his ancestral mories hadn’t unlocked. Once they were unlocked, he would know, where the Giants are.
But now it seed, he usually saw Elves, Dwarves, Beastn, and even rmaids in the sea, and so strange races whose nas he couldn’t recall on the street.
But, there were no Giants.
Long Yi is a Giant, yet he looked like a human.
Am I the only one?
Where did I co from? Where are my Giant parents? Are they not in this world? Could they be in the upper plane? Did I fall from the upper plane?
Yavenny’s question brought forth a multitude of questions from Long Yi. And for these questions, Long Yi did not even have a way to find the answers, let alone the answers themselves.
"Did she answer your question?" Tyl did not hear Yavenny’s final words and could only ask Long Yi.
"No, but she definitely knows." Long Yi said. He still chose to withhold so information from Tyl. After all, he didn’t know what Tyl’s true intentions were. Between Tyl and Yavenny, Long Yi was inclined to trust Yavenny more since she was imnsely powerful and didn’t seem to need anything for herself.
Tyl showed dubiousness in response to Long Yi’s answer but didn’t pursue further. He simply stared in silence for a long while. Finally, he heaved a sigh and said "Long Yi, I know you have many questions. Actually, these questions also perplex . Don’t doubt it, the questions that trouble you and may be different, but essentially, they all have the sa answer. I’m also seeking this answer, so you can rest easy. I swear by my soul to the Creator God that in the past, present, and future, I absolutely will not do anything to harm you."
Tyl made this oath in the dragon language. Swearing by one’s soul to the Creator God is a top-tier invocation. The mont the oath was spoken, it transford into golden runes breaking apart between Tyl and Long Yi.
Long Yi could feel the power of the oath. The fact that Tyl dared to include both the past, present, and the future in his vow ant he had no intention of acting against him. Otherwise, Tyl would have been annihilated instantly when the oath took effect.
"Uncle Tyl, I didn’t distrust you." Long Yi shook his head. It felt pretentious to say this, but since Tyl had used a top-tier invocation, what else could he say?
"I know you’re doubtful, and I’d like to tell you what I’m pursuing. However, once you learn of it, you’ll definitely be plunged into endless trouble." Tyl said.
"Do you think that if you don’t tell , I’ll have less trouble?" Long Yi asked with a smile.
Tyl paused, sighed resignedly, looked around, and whispered, "I suspect, the Dragon Clan and humans are actually natural enemies."
Long Yi was dumbstruck. He believed the Dragon Clan, beings with deeply ingrained pride, might not like humans, but to assu they and humans are natural enemies was hard to believe, right?
